While other heroes constituted the first superhero team, herein we consider the first superhero families. Actually, the very first was the Marvel Family, which graduated from just Captain Marvel to his Junior namesake, then to his long-lost twin sister Mary followed by other "cousins" and even an uncle, of sorts. This team had something special that a Justice Society did not possess, a connection that extends beyond friendship with a bond of blood that made them natural extensions of one another. It would take a couple decades before the original costumed crusader, Superman, would gain his own family. From a modest beginning, encountering a long lost cousin Kara who would be his Supergirl, to other cousins and kinfolk who also survived the destruction of their planet Krypton. However, their connection didn't match that of the Marvels, since Superman lived on his section of comics for years and would remain detached. Nevertheless, it illustrated that no man is an island, and all heroes have some connections around them if we look long and hard enough.
