Superman had a terrific support system, on both Earths, throughout his prestigious career. On Earth-One and Earth-Two, he had the mainstays of Lois Lane who was the love of his life, Jimmy Olsen who was his best buddy, Perry White who was the permanent editor-in-chief of Earth-One and senior writer/fill-in Editor-In-Chief of Earth-Two. While Lana Lang was always in the silver age Superman's life since he was a Superboy in Smallville, the golden age Lana moved with her parents to Metropolis as a small child and met Clark Kent when he was Editor-In-Chief, becoming a TV critic instead of a TV anchor her counterpart was.
Then there was some differences. Lois-One's younger sister was the single Lucy Lane, Lois-Two's sister was the married Lucille Lane Tompkins, married to George with a daughter Susie. While George's Earth-One twin was WGBS weatherman Oscar Ascherman, Susie's twin was the Linds Danvers clone of Supergirl, Sportscasters Steve Lombard of Earth-One's WGBS-TV and Steve Bard of Earth-Two's Daily Star.
Of course, notable in the lives of the Supermen were their parents, the Earth-One Kal-El's birth and adopted parents of Jor-El and Lara, and Jonathan and Martha Kent... as well as the Earth-Two Kal-L's birth and adopted parents of Jor-L and Lora, and John and Mary Kent. And while Kara Zor-El and Kara Zor-L were twins themselves, their costumed careers took diverging paths as Supergirl and Power Girl.
Both Supermen became friends of former foes as well. There was the criminal J Wilbur Wolfingham who stayed on the wrong side of the law on Earth-One yet turned over a new leaf on Earth-Two. Vernon O'Valeron aka Vartox and Terry Curtis aka Cyclotron were scientific geniuses with power-levels matching their respective Supermen. Loretta York aka Yellow Peri and her conman husband Alvin Grant as well as Doc Hocus and his partner Flannelhead aka Pocus used amazing powers to perplex the Men of Steel. Strong sailor Captain Strong was a foe turned friend of the Earth-One Superman, after Kal-El helped him beat a crippling addiction. Meanwhile, the superhuman Captain Skull had never met the Earth-Two Superman, as that pirate was preoccupied with another creation of the Man of Steel's creator in his Justice Society pal, Spectre... a Skull who's alias Joseph Clanton helped to broker a peace deal!!!
While Superman's Phantom Zone foes such as General Zod invaded Earth-One repeatedly, so too did Zor and other superhumans from the Spectral Zone when invading Earth-Two... although again it was Spectre who stood in for his pal Superman. However, for one of the Phantom Zoners... Quex-Ul aka Charlie Kweskill... ended up becoming a coworker of Superman's alter ego at the Daily Planet after being depowered, and would later sacrifice his life to save Kal-El.
