Titanic Teen Teams: Alliterate Avengers Assemble

Earths One and Two had a plethora of superhero teams. While most of these consisted of adult costumed crusaders, there were a few second and third-generation heroes who likewise gathered together. Interestingly, the two more famous adolescent assembled avengers of both worlds had alliterate names, two word names each with the same starting letter.

On Earth-One, the first of these was the Teen Titans, originally consisting of charter members Robin, Kid Flash and Aqualad. Each was a sidekick to a member of the Justice League of America, eventually joined by two other sidekicks in Donna “Wonder Girl Troy and Speedy. Following this, te next four teammates were new heroes Mal Duncan, Lilith Clay, and brothers Hank "Hawk" Hall and Don "Dove" Hall. On Earth-Two, their four counterparts Tommy "Little Boy Blue" Rodger’s, Janie "Little Miss Redhead", and pals Toughy and Tommy who formed the Blue Boys who later joined the Junior Justice Society. As for the Earth-Two versions of Robin, Donna Troy and Speedy… these never joined the Blue Boys… although the lads were members of the All-Star Squadron while Donna was one of the Holiday Girls who aided Wonder Woman. The Titans later gained more members such as Bat-Girl, Gnaark, Bumblebee, Golden Eagle, Beast Boy and the Harlequin.

Eventually, two new teams took the place of the Teen Titans and Blue Boys, those being the Forever People of Earth-One and Infinity, Inc. of Earth-Two. The Forever People only had five members in Mark Moonrider, Beautiful Dream, Vykin the Black, Big Bear and Serafin. As for the sons and daughters of the Justice Society of America who formed Infinity, Inc. was far larger with founding members Silver Scarab, Fury, Northwind, Neblon, Star-Spangled Kid, Obsidian, Jade, Brainwave Junior as well as honorary members the Huntress and Power Girl. As with the Teen Titans, Infinity, Inc. would expand to include additional members such as Wildcat II, Hourman II and Doctor Midnight II... while being assisted behind-the-scenes by the Harlequin.

The Forever People briefly operated between the period when the Teen Titans first disbanded, then leaving Earth-One for good just prior to the Titans reforming. The Blue Boys were the predecessor to Infinity, Inc,, with the latter team still fighting together during the same period of time when the New Teen Titans began the third incarnation of that team.

What If: There Was an Earth-One Infinity Inc.

Earths One and Two have teams that are quite alike, such as the Justice League and Justice Society, the Injustice Gang and the Injustice Society, not to member a Secret Society of Super-Villains. Each world has a Dynamic Duo, a World's Finest Team, Ace Archers and the like.

Yet there are also distinct groups on each parallel planet, such as the Teen Titans and the Blue Boys, each unique. But imagine if Infinity, Inc. had a team like the Forever People, but composed of the next (and a couple previous) generation of superhumans:

Instead of Wonder Woman's daughter Lyta aka Fury, it was Wonder Woman's twin sister Nubia. Tempest replaced Northwind. Swap out one tall redhead in Nuklon for another in Big Bear, and one stellar stud in Star-Spangled Kid for Snapper Carr's Star-Tsar. An inventive adventurer in Daniel Patrick Cassidy aka Blue Devil who replaced Hector Sanders Hall aka Silver Scarab. A pair of Green Lanterns in Arisia and John Stewart were inserted where Jade and Obsidian would have been. Brain Wave Junior's mental equal in the Omega Men’s Primus could fill in for him. And then, of course, the World's Finest Females, Batgirl and Supergirl, would be the team's dynamic duo in place of Huntress and Power Girl!

Imagine the team dynamics of this version of Infinity, Inc. on Forever People's Earth!

Stunning Super Shooting Sidekicks

Serifin was the youngest of the Forever People, a group of children overseen by Highfaher of New Genesis. Due to the fact that they sought to oppose the wicked planet Apokolips, the teens fled their native New Genesis seeking refuge on Earth-One from the Darkseid and his malevolent minions.

Coming equipped with various cosmic cartridge which could discharge energy in various ways, the lad proved key in aiding his friends.

Eventually, the Forever People were exiled to an extra-dimnsional world during a final battle with the forces of evil opposed by Serifin and his four friends (Mark Moonrider, Vykin, Big Bear and Beautiful Dreamer) alongside their adult ally Infnity Man whom they merged together the form in times of Crisis.

Buddy Smith was a young orphan when accompanied is grandfather Ezra in a pilgrimage across the America of Esrth-Two when tragedy struck. A group of zealots known as the Purple Shirts attempted the recruited these travelers that their cause, and when Ezra refused he was slain. This led to the involvement of the hero Uncle Sam, who helped Buddy defeat these rogues, after which Sam adopted Buddy tand be his sidekick.

The lad assisted Sam on several cases during the early days of World War II, using weaponry including a special flute, before he vanished around the same time that Sam migrated to Earth-X to lead his Freedom Fighters.

Scarlet Super Strong Studs aka Big Bear and Nuklon

These two red headed powerhouses were the cornerstones of their respective teams of teen titans. Both are expert pilots with a style for their respective ages of introduction to pop culture of the 1970's and 1980's, as seen by their distinctive hair styles.

Big Bear was one of the young champions of the alien city of Super Town hovering over planet New Genesis. Along with four other youths known as the Forever People, he used his super strength and ability to increase his density and, through his Super Cycle, to phase through objects. Traveling to Earth-One, the team defended it and the universe from Darkseid's machinations throughout the past and present. Later, they'd leave their adopted home for another world.

Nuklon aka Albert Rothstein was a founding member of Infinity, Inc., and sought to live up to the mantle of his god father the Atom of Earth-Two. Utilizing his super strength and ability to increase and decrease his density to become near invulnerable and to phase through objects. His team banded together to defeat the plots of Ultra-Humanite both in the past and the present. He and his allies would remain as the next generation of his planet's protectors.

Dynamite Duos - Charged Crusaders

Vykin the Black was one of the Forever People who traveled to Earth-One in order to save their teammate Beautiful Dreamer. With the ability to emit magnetic energy and to spearhead the transformation of he and his friends into becoming the powerful Infinity Man, his greatest attribute was his wisdom which aided in directing the teens towards battling the forces of evil. His constant ally was Mark Moonrider, who possessed a megaton touch, allowing him to either shock and opponent or generate a devastating explosion. His greatest attribute was a a natural born leader of the Forever People. Together with teammates Big Bear , Serifan and Dreamer herself, this duo had brief but memorable careers before they were shunted off into the other dimensional world of Adon, where they remained through the Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Thomas N. "Tex" Thomas was a chemistry teacher and physical education instructor for a prestigious school where, alongside his prized pupil Daniel Dunbar, discover the means to internally harness atomic powers. Through an accident, Tex was positively charged while Dan was negatively charged. Creating specialized rings which they both wore, just by touching these together both would be imbued with various electro-magnetic powers and enhanced physical capabilities. As TNT and Dan the Dana-Mite, the pair had several tales as a dynamite duo which led to their membership in the All-Star Squadron. In the waning days of World War II, they were recruited by Robotman along with other unaffiliated All-Stars who through his cybernetic ally Mekanique located their long lost ally Hank "Commander Steel" Haywood who sought their aid in ending the War on his new world of Earth-One. Aiding to the Manhattan Projecr on Earth-One, Tex and Dan soon discovered that the new science based universe they now resided in caused their powers to become unstable. Heywood arranged for the pair to be housed separately in underground bunkers for decades before TNT was moved to the bottled city of Kandor and Dan to the  domed city of Atlantis for further treatment.

Four Freedom Fighters Face Fearsome Foes

A despotic extra-dimensional ruler sought out the secret to the anti-life equation in order to bend the wills of all in his path. This ruler, Darkseid, posssessed the devastatingly powerful Omega beams or Omega effect. Despite this, he wanted more power, and so sent various evil agents from his world of Apokolips to Earth-One, where key individuals possessed portions of this secret equation. To oppose this threat, his son Oberon journeyed to Earth from his adopted world of New Genesis in order to secure these individuals. To that end, Orion became the guardian protector of Dave Lincoln, Richard Roe, Lorraine Hampton and Professor Bradford. Dave had especially assisted Orion in various adventures, as would another diminutive ally in the circus performer known as Oberon. As a result, Darkseid was kept from his goal, and humanity's freedom was preserved.

Decades earlier on Earth-Two, there was a group of equally destructive individuals, although they fought on the side of justice. These were the Bombardiers... consisting of Montague, Swordo and Red... each possessing the same abilities as the Human Bomb. These three were given formula 27-QRX, as was another man named Hustace Throckmorton, and like Roy Lincoln (aka the Human Bomb), each manifested destructive abilities. While Hustace fought alongside Roy in America, the Bombardiers accompanied Lincoln to Japan in an attempt to free Red's captured soldier sibling. Red was the sassy red head lady seeking to save her brother... Swordo was the carnival performer craving adventure... Montague was the former criminal wanting to turn over a new leaf. Although not a Bombardeer, Red's brother Rogers had a larger than life ego as well. Throckmorton had himself only worked with Human Bomb in the mainland of America and wasn't one of the Bombardeers in name but was one in purpose.

Determined Dreaming Damsels

Beautiful Dreamer and Dian Belmont may at first be defined by the men in their lives. But their own heroic spirit determines that decisions they made to live up to their lofty dreams of justice.

Dreamer was a member of the teenage Forever People who journeyed from New Genesis' Super Town and made their home on Earth-One. Dian was the girlfriend and confidant of Wesley "Sandman" Dodds, himself a member of the Justice Society. Each lady was a heroine in her who assumed alter egos of Sandman and Infinite Man, respectively.
