Crazy Crusading Comrades' Creepy Clones

Cloning technology has been a much conjectured as a future reality since the atomic age began. On parallel planets, themselves known for producing near identical doppelgängers on each world, this has become a reality. Case in point, the business-suit busybody boys Jimmy Olsen and Johnny Thunder, friends of Superman!

On Earth-One, photo-journalist Jimmy Olsen of the Daily Planet had hundreds of stories he pursued which led him into a myriad of zany adventures over the years. Moreso than his Earth-Two counterpart on Earth-Two who was employed with the Daily Star, this Jimmy frequently employed the aid of his best friend Superman, whom he summoned whenever in need with his emergency signal watch which broadcast a high-pitch frequency only his friend could hear and from time-to-time adopted the stretchy alter ego of Elastic Lad.

On Earth-Two, amateur adventurer Johnny Thunder had hundreds of wacky tales he was involved with throughout the decades. While his Earth-One counterpart was busy leading his Lawless League gang, this Johnny was the first new recruit of the Justice Society of America, whom he shared several adventures with. During most of his fanatical forays, Johnny employed the aid of his stretchy Thunderbolt, whose powers protected Thunder from various threats and whom he could summon by saying the phrase Cei-U (or "Say You").

On occasion, both young men encountered multiple copies of themselves. Jimmy met his clones created in Project Cadmus, who were tasked as guards of the government facility. Johnny spawned his own clones whom he unleashed upon the Black Dragon Society of Imperial Japan who were attacking America.

Of course, there were several other clones developed by various intellectuals for a variety of purposes, some for the betterment of man and some for ill-gotten gains. Some of these were:

• Supergirl's miniature clones merged to become Linda Danvers II, Power Girl's cloned cells extended her life and youth

• Clones of Manhunter agents Paul "Manhunter" Kirk and Molly "Harlequin" Mayne spawned to dominate their Earths.

• T.O. Morrow and Per Degaton's temporal clones whom they used as agents against the Justice League and Justice Society.

• Sinestro's clones whom he used as pawns of both Earths versus the Green Lanterns arch-foe Hal  Jordan and new foe Alan Scott.

• Solomon Grundy and his various clones on Earths One and Two.
  

• Bizarro and Funny Face clones of heroes and villains who bedevils the Supermen of twin Earths Kal-El and Kal-L.

• Clones of Justice League & Justice Society members who had short-lived costumed careers of their own.

T.O.Morrow is only a day… and a universe…away

Habitat was the major theme exhibition of the 1967 Montreal World Exposition. As a landmark state-of-the-art project, it pioneered a vision for urban housing. Based on this revolutionary design, another far grander metropolitan complex would be developed in Quebec, Canada, one that drew the attention of the most ancient adversary of antiquity and fearsome foe of the future. The experimental City of Tomorrow… which one monster sought to destroy and one madman sought to plunder. And each city, along with its tremendous technology, impacted crisises on Earths One and Two which the Greatest Heroes of Parallel Planets had to face together.

On Earth-One, the City of Tomorrow was the target chosed by the ancient adversary of humanity, King Kull, to be the start of his devastating attack on that world. Having tried to use his wonderous weaponry and supervillain sycophants to destroy Earth-Two and his native Earth-S, in both instances having failed, Kull focused all his attention on the homeworld of the Justice League. Installing a mechanism designed to speed up Earth-One's rotation in order to disrupt its gravity, Kull's device was disassembled by both Earths' Green Lanterns with aid from their Earth-S counterpart Ibis the Invincible. Together with the Flash and Mercury/Kid Eternity of three Earths, Kull's mechanical menaces Brainiac and Mister Atom were also disabled, allowing the League, Society and Earth-S' Squadron of Justice to finally confront and defeat King Kull himself at the Rock of Eternity.

Years earlier on Earth-Two, a visiting sinister scientist known as T.O. Morrow used his time scanner which peered into the future of that world along with his fourth-dimensional grappling hook (devices previously discovered by the Nazi inventor Helmut Streicher*) to steal gadgetry from the City of Tomorrow found in that planet's Quebec. With these cutting edge devices, Morrow and his minions engaged in a cross-dimensional crimewave. Peering once more into the future, he replicated a sentient computer to service his nefarious needs. Morrow developed an army of androids including Red Tornado to eliminate first the Justice Society and later his old foes in the Justice League on his home world . Despite temporary victories against members of both teams, Morrow was defeated thanks to the timely intervention of his creation Red Tornado, who joined the Justice Society. Years later, this amazing android would migrate to Earth-One, and join the Justice League.

Why T.O. Morrow, when using his temporal vision device to peer into the future, could only see the city on Earth-Two rather than his own Earth-One is unknown. It may be because, at that time, the sentinent Construct II** was disrupting Morrow's technology on Earth-One so it could horde these scientific secrets all for itself. In the process, Morrow discovered the Construct's Earth-Two counterpart in the sentient computer he later used to design Red Tornado*. Ironically, after that android was destroyed following his move to Earth-One, Construct III reconstituted the cyclonic cyborg's body to become a new version of Red Tornado. Thankfully, the original consciousness of Tornado asserted itself over Construct III and purged it from his mind.

* It seems the structural design of Red Panzer and Red Tornado were both borrowed from Streicher and Morrow’s time scanners they each built on Earth-Two and Earth-One.

** The Earth-Two doppelgängers of Earth-One’s Constructs I, II, III and IV were: Hourman’s Crime-Caster, Morrow’s Computer, Red Tornado, and the computer from the City of Tomorrow (while Morrow briefly brought over his computer to Earth-One, it was later absorbed onto Construct IV’s consciousness before Red Tornado destroyed it).

Chronal Copies Temporal Twins

The physics differed drastically in the  divergent dimension of Earths One and Two, and among these was the affect on time with living beings. In one universe, a temporally displaced individual could not exist in the same time as the past or future version of themselves. In another universe, an individual could exist as multiple copies of themselves at the same time. However, in that second reality, it was impossible to create a chronal clone of themselves while in the first it was entirely possible.

Two time tyrants discovered these core principals in their native realms and more than once manipulated these quirks in physics to their own amoral agendas. These villains were T.O. Morrow of Earth-One, and Per Degaton of Earth-Two, and both men were persistent foes of the Justice League and Justice Society, respectively. 

T.O. Morrow first appeared in Central City, when he spawned three chronoal counterparts of Hal "Green Lantern" Jordan, complete with identical power rings. These three synthetic beings were sent by their creator to steal precious items from the Louve in Paris, the Statue of Liberty in New York City, and London. This terrible trio  taunt Green Lantern and his Justice League teammate the Flash, who each pursue one of the fake Lanterns in Paris and New York, and then the pair seemingly teammup in London the Flash determines that his partner is one of the fakes. The real Lantern was defeated in New York City, and after freeing his friend, the Leaguers track down Morrow at his headquarters while the psuedo-Lanterns fade from existence. Although initially tricked by the T.O. Morrow temporal clone, the heroes discover this rouse and corner the real Morrow. Seeing no way out, the villain seemingly falls to his death in an underground pit.

Per Degaon hatched the third of this history-altering schemes when he recruited the Crime Syndicate of Earth-Three to accompany him to Earth-Prime, where the rogues stole nuclear weapons from Cuba. Bringing them back to Earth-Two in 1942, Degaton sought to blackmail the world into accepting his authoritarian rule, which in one future timeline was successful until the early 1980s. However, the Justice League of Earth-One travelled back to that era and teamed up with the All-Star Squadron to oppose him, and soon found their friends from the future appear in the skies above one of Degaton's nuclear detonation demonstrations at sea. These were the 1980 versions of 1940s Justice Society members Green Lantern, Starman and Doctor Fate... along with superheroines Power Girl and Huntress. The three male Society members were the chronal counterparts of Morrow's initial two Green Lanterns and himself (while the 1980s Power Girl, who also existed in the 1940s, was the chronal counterpart of Supergirl's Satan Girl/Nightflame clone from the 1970s). 

The third of Morrow's Green Lantern temporal twins had a counterpart in the Conqueror's synthetic Green Lantern, which he used against the original and his Justice Society allies. Years later, T.O. developed chronal clones of Steve Trevor, Mera, Hawkgirl, Jean Loring and a girl name Midge... in order the ensnare Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Hawkman, Atom and Snapper Carr into accepting their paralyzing kisses. Once they accomplished their evil deeds for their master, these being like the lethal Lantern trio faded from existence.

During Per's previous time traveling case, he brought back to 1941 future versions of Wotan, Professor Zobar Zodiak, Sky Pirate, King Bee and the Monster (as well as Solomon Grundy, whose Earth-One counterpart was the artificial Grundy clone created by the Parasite in his war against Superman). These chronal clones existed during the same time period as their earlier version, who were unaware that their future selves were engaged in battle with the All-Star Squadron. This scheme, as with all of Degaton's schemes, failed miserably.

Years later, T.O. Morrow reappeared and disgarded the use of chornal clones, and once more manufactured Red Tornado androids modeled after the original, who turned against his master and joined the Justice Society (and later the Justice League). These Tornado androids were made of the same temporal technology as the living chrononal clones, but unlike these being they were made of silicon chips and hardware.

Corrupt Chronol Clones Cause Cosmic Crisis

The sinister scientists and aspiring authoritarians, T.O. Morrow and Per Degaton, each stealing time-tech allowing them to pierce back the veil of time. Borrowing from the intellectual advances of other more honorable men, Morrow and Degaton. 

Futurenergy helped formulate five chronal clones based on five love interests of the Justice League, in order to ensnare half of its membership. These were Steve Trevor, Jean Loring, Shayera "Hawkgirl" Hol, Midge, and Mera... whose identical appearance to the originals helped lure Wonder Woman, the Atom, Hawkman, Snapper Carr and Aquaman into kissing them. This caused each Leaguer to fall into a comatose state, leaving the remaining members to face automatons replicating old adversaries of the League. Among these, there was a sixth chronol duplicate who appeared in Doctor Light. Once each served his or her purpose, they were promptly erased from existence, while the original five romantic partners of the League were unaware of what transpired to the loves of their lives.

Temporal causality from Per Degaton's time machine, which he stole from Professor Zee, allowed him to pull sixth supervillains from the late 1940s back to December of 1941. These included Per Degaton himself, Wotan, Professor Zobar Zodiak, Sky Pirate, King Bee and the Monster (a seventh cloned creature, Solomon Grundy, was actually the doppelgänger of the Earth-One Solomon Grundy spawned by the Parasite decades later). Due to chronol energy, these crooks were able to exist simultaneous to their younger selves, who were existing in the same time period unaware of these events transpiring. All of these criminals except the Monster were able to ensnare their prey, leaving all save three members of the Justice Society in a comatose state*.

In other cases involving Morrow and Degaton, there were other time twins spawned by their malicious macinations. Morrow created three chronal clones of Green Lantern and one of himself during his initial appearance. These pawns proved powerless versus the League's Flash and Green Lantern. Degaton's third adventure, which involved nuclear blackmail in 1942, led to four 1980s members of the Justice Society entering that era, while their past selves existed simultaneously and unaware that their future selves were there!

Eventually, thanks to the intervention of the Red Tornado who helped revive the Justice League, and Robotman along with the All-Star Squadron who helped rescue the Justice Society, both Morrow and Degaton were decisively defeated. As with Morrow's clones, Degaton's clones** were each erased from existence as they resumed their lives in the future from which they were originally plucked.

* The ensuing battle between the All-Star Squadron and Justice Society versus Degaton's minions mirrored the battle on another occasion between the Justice League and Queen Bee's Anti-Justice League. 

Twice-Told-Tales: Bald Bad Boys vs Red Tornado

The Weaponers of Qward had a long-standing emnity towards inhabitants of Earth-One, seeking to invade that world using a portal that bridged the gap between the positive-matter universe of Earth with the anti-matter universe their world resided within. Seeking to conquer this planet, making it a base of operations from which to launch attacks again their rival dopplegangers, the Guardians of the Universe from the planet Oa, the Qwardians nearly succeeded thanks to their mastery of the Q-Force. This energy was other universe's correspondencing fundamental force to the emerald energy which the Guardians manifested in their reality.

A similar tale was told years earlier, when sinister scientist T.O. Morrow of Earth-One traveled to Earth-Two to plunder and conquer that world. Utilizing his time grapple and future viewer, he replicated a sentient computer which provided him with the humaniztron. This device could take inorganic material and replicate into human-like authorized beings, from which he built a subservient army of faceless androids. Among these was his greatest creation, the Red Tornado, whom Morrow implanted with the Justice Society to betray them from within. After felonious forays first of Earth-Two and soon after on Earth-One versus the Justice Society and Justice League, the latter of whom he temporarily disabled with deadly clones* of the Leaguer's romantic partners. Morrow's ultimate plan nearly came to fruition when he attempted to launch a war between both Earths with his android forces as the catalyst for this cosmic conflict.

Just as with Morrow and his menacing mechanoids, the Weaponer warlord Kaman and his fellow Qwardans’ schemes were overturned by the Red Tornado. Reddy soon revived and recruited the Justice League and Justice Society to repel the faceless armies staged in Inter-dimensional limbo, he also led the attack against the Qwardians after freeing their captive, Superman who along with Tornado helped revive their fellow Leaguers and Earths population kept comatose by Q-Energy.

As for the raw material which Morrow used as building blocks to build his amazing android army, these were fragments of Earth-One’s Meteor Crater. The Flash of Earth-Two transported this meteor to his world in order to absorb deadly radiation emitted from that world’s sun, after a comet collided with it. While the meteor located within the Meteor Crater of Earth-Two negated the radioactivity lingering in its atmosphere, a second dose was needed from the meteor’s Earth-One doppelgänger. This irradiated meteor dust would have the necessary properties for Morrow’s humaniztron to bring his synthetic creations to artificial life.

Despite having access to awesome power derived from Q-Force irradiated twin suns in Qward's Universe and from an atomic sun in the Limbo realm between universes, neither Kaman and his Weaponers nor Morrow and his androids triumphed. While most of these adversarial androids were evidentially left behind in the Atlantis of Earth-Two, the 1279 Qwardians now on Earth-One made a new home within the Australian outback of Earth-One, in a secluded village named New Qward.

* Morrow used his Futurenergy to create energy duplicates of five friends (Steve Trevor, Jean Loring, Shayera "Hawkgirl" Hol, Midge and Mera Curry) and one foe (Doctor Light) of the League, while Per Degaton's time machine created six temporal duplicates of the Society's old foes (Per Degaton, Wotan, Professor Zodiak, King Bee, Monster and Sky Pirate) from 1948 in 1941. The original friends and foes of these heroes existed separate and simultaneous to their "chronal-clones" on these occasions.

Twice-Told-Tales: Tyrannical Tales of T.O. Morrow

Originally a foe of the Flash and Green Lantern... in order to escape defeat at their hands, T.O. Morrow traveled to Earth-Two. There, he used his 4th-dimension grapple beam and future monitor to pluck devices of later eras into his time period. Among these was a sentient computer based on Hourman's Crime-Caster, which created androids to battle the Justice Society and Justice League.

For the Society, Morrow utilized faceless android assassins, for the League, he used replicas of the League's love interests*. Encountering these automatons, five Leaguers and Socialites were placed in a death-like coma due to exposure to Morrow's Futur-Energy. And a key factor in his grand scheme was the creation of the android Red Tornado, implanted with false memories and thus believing himself to be the original Red Tornado who had tried to join the Society decades earlier. Due to his unpredictable nature, the Tornado's attempts at saving his fellow members would backfire against them.

On Earth-Two, Morrow's atomic clouds... used in the theft of ancient artifacts at the 20th Century museum... mixed with radiation from Starman's cosmic rod animated four giant Egyptian statues in the forms of a cat, eagle, ram and lion. 

While Tornado was able to defeat this quartet with his vortex powers, their potential perhaps inspired Morrow into creating equally massive animal pawns in the form of a dragon, a griffin, a man-monster, and the automaton Super-Duper (who combined Wonder Woman, Hawkman, and Flash into one synthetic being) from within the League's Cave headquarters.

Unlike the four statutes that faced the Society, the four beasts on Earth-One took considerable effort for the League to defeat, although they like their Society counterparts succumbed to the Futur-Energy. Now all of Morrow's foes were disabled... except one!

And that one, Red Tornado, fought against his programming... tracking the radiation from his master's weaponry back to Earth-One. There, he found the immobilized Leaguers, and surmised from Morrow's own recordings how to save them. Using the real love interests of the five Leaguers initially captured to revive them through "a kiss", they accompanied Red Tornado to the secret base of T.O. Morrow. 

There, in dimensional Limbo between the two universes, Morrow planned to start a war between his native Earth-One and adopted Earth-Two. Beaming energy-rays into both worlds designed to agitate their inhabitants and then opening portals between both planets that would cause chaos on each. The villian theorized that by doing this, he would ultimately be the victory. However, his own computer calculated that the only way he could be defeated is by the intervention of his greatest creation, the Red Tornado!

After Red Tornado and the five Leaguers overcame the sinister scientist's synthetic army and destroyed his equipment, they captured Morrow and returned with him to Earth-One. There, Tornado used a rifle powered with the Futur-energy to restore mobility to the remaining Leaguers.

Following this, Tornado then journeyed back to Earth-Two where he did the same for the Justice Society, updating them on what had transpired. At this point, the awesome android proved both his naivite and his ingenuity... leading to him being granted a probationary membership into the Justice Society. However, over the years, Red Tornado never truly felts as if he fit in with this team, and when ultimately sacrificing his life to save Earth-Two from the Iron Hand.

Instead, he ended up being pulled back to Earth-One where he would be found by Morrow, using him in another scheme to destroy the Justice League. When this failed, Tornado instead adopted the “human” alter ego of John Smith and joined the Justice League as a long-serving and honored member. He even gained a girlfriend in Kathy Sutton and an adopted daughter in a girl named Traya whom he rescued from a war torn middle eastern country.

Although he would face future tragedies involving alien entities attempting to manipulate him, Red Tornado’s indomitable heroic spirit kept him grounded to humanity, who unlike his human creator, he sought to be a constructive part.

Crime-Casters - Constructs - Conscious Chaos

For decades, the atmosphere of Earth-One was a breeding ground of transmitted electronic waves produced from a myriad of computing equipment.

Through this, the artificial consciousness known as the Construct was spawned, seeking to assert itself upon humanity and dominate it. To this end, it created robot automatons known as cannons which it sent to dispatch the one true viable threat to its rule...the Justice League of America. However, that team was able to defeat the synthetic being and attempted to erase it from existence.

Instead, it remained and reintegrated into Construct-II and Construct-III, seeking to mentally control Wonder Woman and the Injustice Gang separately and turn them against the League, then later using reconstructed itself as the Red Tornado android. Each time, it failed in its objective to vanquish humanity. Even thousands of years in the future, as Lord of Time's Eternity Brain, it would still fail against the League and Society of Justice.

In fact, a separate, distinct yet similar electronic entity was formed on the Red Tornado's home world of Earth-Two. This being had initially been the creation of Rex "Hourman" Tyler, who built his Crime-Caster artificial intelligence to predict any pending problems across the globe. In the future, this computer developed into a predictive machine which the sinister scientist known as T.O. Morrow plucked from the future of Earth-Two which he first witnessed through a temporal viewer he built on his native planet of Earth-One.

This Crime-Caster in the far future would further develop in certain timelines into the being known as the Hourman android, a self-described "intelligent machine colony". While Morrow brought a copy of this computer back to Earth-One following his defeat at the hands of the Justice Society and Justice League, Rex's first model and what it developed into remained on Earth-Two. And it seems that Morrow's copy of the Tyler machine was the core of the Construct as it formed following its creators defeat. On a fourth occasion, the Construct tried and nearly succeeded in subjecting humanity, however it's own creation in Red Tornado ultimately destroyed this creature completely.

Immortal Man: Evidence He Originated on Earth-Two

The Immortal Man's biggest claim to fame may well be forgotten.. as the founder of the Forgotten Heroes. This team was composed of various plain clothed (and in Animal Man's case, costumed) crusaders of justice on Earth-One, such as Rip Hunter the Time Master, geologist Cave Carson, deep sea divers the Sea Devils, jungle explorer Congo Bill, Suicide Squad leader Rick Flagg and mysterious maiden the Dolphin.. He had assembled them in order to combat his age-old foe, Vandal Savage, however Savage originated on Earth-Two!

As Immortal Man explained to his fellow champions of justice, he and Vandal had been exposed to the same strange comet that bequeathed them both with extensive lifespans. And through the eon they battled one another perpetually. How could this be, if one was on Earth-One and the other on Earth-Two? In his first tale on Earth-One, Vandal mentioned that he left his home world to conquer this parallel planet by changing its history and thereby controlling its greatest champion, Superman, whose counterpart had alongside the Justice Society defeated him shortly before this.

In his next appearance, Savage created a company known as Abraxas, Inc... designed to employ robotic replicas of the Man of Steel in order to more sufficiently protect Metropolis. However, this was a mere ploy by Vandal to supplant Superman and thereby fracture the public's perception of its prominent protector. After manipulating the radioactive Neutron into battling Superman, he lured the hero into the headquarters of Abraxas, whereby Superman was sprayed with spores that he unknowingly spread throughout Metropolis… causing environmental chaos! This tied to ancient alien pyramids Savage used as a means of returning Earth-One to prehistoric conditions which he could control. 

At this point, Immortal Man revealed himself while recruiting the Forgotten Heroes into joining him in aiding the Man of Steel in defeating his immortal adversary. As Immortal Man confirmed their history, with Vandal previously mentioning his leaving Earth-Two to conquer Earth-One, it is an inescapable conclusion that Immortal Man originated from Earth-Two as well... only leaving it for Earth-One when Vandal himself migrated there.

What can we conclude from this? The adventures of the various "Immortal Men" accumulated racial memories contained within the comet crystal that the original Immortal Man and his subsequent heirs possessed... all took place on Earth-Two until this tale with the Forgotten Heroes. Thus, the various Immortal Men had counterparts on Earth-One that were heroic figures from around the globe of Earth-Two, such as:

• Mark the young orphan was the twin of the young Immortal Man that appeared when the Forgotten Heroes met their opposite number, the Forgotten Villains. Each had brief careers before they each perished saving humanity, both manifesting the same set of powers in that sole appearance. 

• Samar the Jungle Man of Earth-Two's Africa had a counterpart in Animal Man (aka Buddy Baker) of Earth-One's Arizona, each with superhuman abilities tied to powers from the jungles similar to wild beasts. Note: Jungle Man's arch foe Karat possessed a helmet that created animal mutants much as that of Atom Master, a villain who battled the Superman and Batman of Earth-One, and later fought Animal Man, Immortal Man and the Forgotten Heroes. 

• Mark King the English treasure expert of Earth-Two was as intuitive and resourceful as investigator Mark Merlin of Earth-One, whose counterpart was Mark Merlin. Both men possessed mind-over-matter powers and later had their minds transplanted into new bodies. While Mark Merlin merged minds with ancient Egyptian Prince Raman, it was Prince Khufu of Egypt who merged minds with the Hawkman of Earth-Two. Ra-Man and Immortal Man died during the Crisis on Infinite Earths. 

• Kirk Jason the ancient books editor of Earth-Two was like his counterpart on Earth-One, geologist Kenneth Anderson, men who gained telekinetic abilities due to their exposure from alien rocks. Jason was similar to his predecessors, a hero, while Anderson became the villain known as the Annihilator until Batgirl and Supergirl beat him.

• Anton Carter, the prominent former European paleontologist of Earth-Two was matched by Lucian Crawley of Earth-One, a young mutant who like Anton had mental abilities and aspired to be the masked superhero known as Mind-Grabber Kid. However, unlike Carter, who perished soon after his career began, Crawley used his mind control to strike back at the Justice League out of jealousy, and then in disgrace retired. 

• Immortal Man's next identity was unnamed when he appeared on Earth-One following Savage, but this cloned body was the Earth-Two doppleganger to T.O. Morrow who left Earth-One for Earth-Two to construct the Red Tornado as a weapon to use against the Justice Society and Justice League before returning to his home-world. Both men had telekinetic powers.

• Many others in the Immortal Man line, such as Hotep, Ali Jaba, Marcus of Rome, Sir Longlance and Flying Stag (aka Super-Chief) of Earth-Two who each carried Immortal Man's jewel mirrored those Earth-One individuals as Prince Ra-Man of Egypt, Diabolu of Babylon, the Olympian of Greece,  the Wild Huntsman of Germany and Kirk Langstrom (aka Man-Bat).

• The original Immoral Man, Klarn Arg and arch-enemy Vandar Adg, existed during the same prehistoric era as mortal enemies. Klarn's ancient race on Earth-Two mirrored that of an ancient race on Krypton-One which predated Superman's own people. Originally the ruler of this people, when a meteor threaten his civilization the future Kryptonite Man ordered all save himself to be kept in suspended animation for twenty years to ensure salvation. However due to a malfunction, all save himself perished while he awoke centuries later. This was just prior to his home world self destructing, which he blamed on the current Kryptonians. Mutated by Kryptonite radiation from the space fragment he survived on for decades, Kryptonite Man fed himself from the storehouse found in the Seeders' ships. Seeking out Kryptonian survivors, he battled both Superman and Supergirl, a battled paralleled by Vandar aka Vandal Savage battling Superman and Power Girl a universe away. However, Kryptonite Man gave his life to save Earth-One from an invading fleet of Seedera, far more noble than Savage had been.

Girls of Steel Versus: Matter Manipulators Menacing Men

On twin Earths several nefarious nemesis had the same namesakes. The Luthors, the Hugo Stranges, the Doctor Psychos. But one common name threatened the combined assemblage of their world's greatest heroes... T.O. Morrow. Who were these men... and their own twins?

T.O. Morrow of Earth-One was a genius level scientist who invented a device allowing him to pull items from the future, which he would then claim to invent. Using this tool to become a super villain, Morrow first faced the Flash and Green Lantern, who found a way to defeat him. Seeking a manner to escape, his method led him from is native world of Earth-One to Earth-Two. A similar event occurred with this Morrow's Earth-Two counterpart, the latest incarnation of the heroic Immortal Man, who journeyed to Earth-One in pursuit of his arch-enemy Vandal Savage.

On this new world and a parallel plane of existence, this Morrow utilized a super computer to create an android which would defeat his new world's Justice Society as well as his old foes' Justice League teammates. The Red Tornado was Morrow's means of infiltrating the Society and destroy them. After seemingly succeeding, Thomas turned his attention to the League with similar results. However, the remaining members of the Society assisted the League with the assistance of Red Tornado in once more vanquishing his creator.

Then there was a T.O. Morrow appeared on Earth-Two... who was also a counterpart to the more well known "Tomorrow Man". How is this so? Well, this Morrow was a bald headed scientist who was really a charlatan, employing various gadgets and gimmicks to portray himself as a man from the future. When his duplicity was exposed by the Shining Knight, the golden age Morrow was defeated and jailed.

Getting back to Earth-One's T.O. Morrow, after his second encounter with the Justice League after he recovered his prized creation Red Tornado and rebuilt him, something strange happened to him. His future computer predicted that had he met defeat with the League, he would cease to exist, and this seemed to be the case as Morrow disappeared. 

In fact, he was split into two beings, one was the original who was shunted off into an extra-dimensional world. Another version of him was mutated into Tomorrow the Future Man, a mental mastermind with tremendous powers of the mind. However, this condition caused his life to accelerate and his life would soon be extinguished. Battling the Tornado for control of the android's body which he could implant his mind into, Future Man was once more defeated and perished, and it was this version that was the cosmic twin of Earth-Two's Morrow.

And after this Morrow's second attempt to turn the Red Tornado against the Justice League failed, his computer jettisoned him into another dimension in exile. There, he obtained a power staff allowing him to control reality on his new world, with which he battled the League's Flash and Atom as well as Supergirl. The trio defeated him and brought him back to his home world, although he soon resurfaced to attempt taking control of his android "son". Instead, Morrow unleashed a Tornado Tyrant that had initially merged with the original Red Tornado, and was once more imprisoned at the conclusion of this conflict, 

During the Crisis on Infinite Earths, while Morrow was recruited by the League to assist in reassembling the Red Tornado who once more had his inner Tyrant unleashed, and when this failed the criminal quit while he was ahead... just as his golden age bald headed doppleganger had decades earlier!
