Junior JSA: The Golden Age Teen Titans

Decades before the formation of the second generation of young heroes, following in the the fabled footsteps of their mentors the Justice League, another team of terrific teens did the same by modeling themselves after the Justice Society of America. While not as colorful as the Teen Titans of Earth-One*, the Junior Justice Society of Earth-Two were just as courageous! These lads and lasses fearlessly faced supervillains and criminal gangs, lacking powers, with only teamwork and tenacity to triumph over terrible tyrants!

When they first appeared, there were reportedly “thousands” of Junior JSA across America. Alongside their role models, Junior members Eddie Brackus, Ted Worth, and others helped the adult Society combat Adolph Hitler’s spy network. These youths returned to help capture the Wizard, who was then leading the first incarnation of the Injustice Gang of the World. Shortly after this, Don Brent and his Junior teammates supported the Justice Society's efforts to combat the Crimson Claw Gang, which had Don's brother Chick as one of its members. On all three adventures, Tommy "Little Boy Blue" Rogers and his "Blue Boys" pals Toughy and Tubby, as well as a young Christopher "Vulcan" Pike and the "Cyclone Kids" Dinky and Sisty were active Junior JSAers (pictured in civilian clothes versus the Wizard and meeting at their club room)!

Junior members also aided individual Society members during their solo adventures. For example, a lad named Bob assisted the Flash in escaping a trap set by his foe the Turtle. Later, Junior JSAers Bill Townley and Mary Ames accompanied Wonder Woman as she was confronting the Duke of Deception with his invading Martian forces.

Over on Earth-One, the Teen Titans were supported in their crimefighting endeavors by adventurous adolescents. Student Chet Walters joined the Teen Titans when they first fought the Aliens of Dimension X. Teenage protestor Chuck along with his big brother David, aka the costumed crusader Joshua, joined forces with the Titans in combatting those aliens.  The Teen Titans, like the Junior JSA, briefly operated only in their civilian identities. Under the tutelage of Mr. Jupiter, the Titans' Wally “Kid Flash” West, Donna “Wonder Girl” Troy, Roy “Speedy” Harper, Lilith and Mal “Hornblower” Duncan set aside their uniforms.

Years later, school students Alec and Shana aka the Whiz Kids, like Bill and Mary aided a grownup hero confronting a vile villain, when they joined forces with Justice Leaguer Superman in defeating Major Menace.  The Whiz Kids would also assist Superman's cousin Supergirl and his Justice League teammate in two other adventures, both times vs Lex Luthor!

The Earth-Two counterparts of Robin, Kid Flash, Aqualad, Wonder Girl and Speedy never joined the Junior JSA. Earth-Two Robin, Johnny Quick, Speedy and Neptune Perkins were All-Star Squadron members. Additionally, Speedy was a charter member with his mentor Green Arrow of Law's Legionnaires (also known as the Seven Soldiers of Victory). Meanwhile, rather than being raised on Paradise Island after being saved by Wonder Woman, the orphaned Donna Troy of that world was saved by a firefighter, and in her late teen years was enrolled in Holliday College. She joined Etta Candy and the Holliday Girls as frequent collaborators in Wonder Woman's adventures, once gaining the powers and costume of the Amazing Amazon herself! Regardless, these lads and lasses were Junior JSA in spirit!

Untold Teamup Tales of the Justice League & Justice Society

As evidenced by the existence of an unaffected future for the Legion of Super-Heroes, Brane "Batman" Taylor, Bilbat"Captain Marv", and a Kamandi... there were multiple 30th century timelines set apart from one another. These heroes' realities remained separate and distinct from one another. Their realities... Earth-One, Earth-Two, Earth-S and Earth-A.D... where each their own unique location within the Mulitverse. As previously ascerted, this proves that a future timeline existed and was thus spared from the cross-contamination of a merged post Crisis on Infinite Earths singular universe, which itself would repeatedly reboot and readjust itself.

With this in mind, we can hypothesize additional untold tales of those 20th century heroes, including several annual teamups between the Justice League of America and the Justice Society of America. These involved additional teams, on both their own worlds and alternate Earths. This harmonizes with the pattern they set for decades, when the JLA and JSA encountered the Crime Syndicate of Earth-Three, the Lawless League of Earth-A, the Seven Soldiers of Victory of Earth-Two, the Freedom Fighters of Earth-X (and formerly of Earth-Two), the Squadron of Justice of Earth-S, the Legion of Super-Heroes of Earth-One, the New Gods of an adjacent Earth-One reality, and the All-Star Squadron of Earth-Two.

What were some of these teamups? Thanks to the inventive mind of Multiverse historian David Stepp, we get a glimpse into some of these amazing adventures:

• The League and Society teamup with Sentinels of Justice of Earth-Four to defend that world against an incursion by the Crime Champions, a gang of villains originally consisting of Earth-One's Chronos, Felix Faust and Doctor Alchemy and Earth-Two's Icicle, Wizard and Gambler. Evidentally, this sinister six expanded their roster to include Sentinal adversaries the Ghost, Doctor Spectro, Punch and Jewelee. To combat this, JLAers Batman, Green Arrow, and Red Tornado as well as JSAers Atom, Hourman and Starman are joined in the fight by Sentinal members Captain Atom, Nightshade and Blue Beetle as well as their ally the Son of Vulcan. The result of this confrontation undoubtedly proved better for Earth-Four than had the Crisis' "Villain War", which left portions of that world in environmental chaos unleashed by the costumed criminals and their mammoth sentient toxic weapon of war, Chemo.

• The Justice Society journeyed to Earth-One to assist the Justice League and the League's next generation protégées, the New Teen Titans, versus the malevolent Brother Blood and his Church of Blood from the nation of Zandia. Sebastian Blood possibly snatched the Powerstone, prompting the intervention of the JSA. Thanks to the intervention of these three titanic teams, led by New Teen Titans' leader Dick "Robin" Grayson and Justice Society member Dick "Nightwing" Grayson (although why the younger Dick reverted to his Robin alias rather than remain as Nightwing is unknown).

• Sinestro uses his ability to mentally manipulate others (which he has formerly used in a Brave and Bold tale when he controlled the Oan Guardians of Earth-One’s Universe while disguised as one of their own... and later when he exerted mind-control over his fellow Korugarians) to coerce select members of the Green Lantern Corps into becoming his second Sinestro Corps. Apparently, he sought to succeed where he had years earlier failed, when cloning himself a dozen time into the first incarnation of the Sinestro Corp when he and his minions invaded Earth-Two. The Justice Society's involvment in this tale indicates that Sinestro brought over these Corps men and women to Earth-Two for a repeat incursion into that world, one thwarted by the JLA and JSA led by Green Lanterns Hal Jordan and Alan Scott of those respective teams.

• In a two-part crossover, the Time Trapper recruits fellow temporal thieves the Lord of Time of Earth-One and Per Degaton of Earth-Two to ensnare the majority of the Justice League and Justice Society in a time trap in the 30th century of Earth-Two. In part two, the remaining Leaguers and Socialites journey to the 30th century of Earth-One to recruit the aid of the Legion of Super-Heroes from that era in helping them battle their old foe Trapper and his cronies, but end up settling for the Legion of Substitute Heroes who help them after defeating the Legion of Super-Villains sent by the Time Trio to thwart them.

• Finally, the Justice Society individually face off against the Crime Society, a version of the Crime Syndicate but from a different world than that of Earth-Three. This Crime Society is modeled off the Justice Lords, a team of renegade superheroes who took the law into their own hand, administering their perverted form of authoritarian justice upon President Lex Luthor and his criminal minions on their world. This Crime Society would undoubtedly have invaded Earth-Two, just as the Crime Syndicate had invaded that world and Earth-One several years earlier. Perhaps the Justice League later became involved, aiding the Society as they had versus the Syndicate.

• These are just a few examples of potential probable plotlines involving the Greatest Heroes of Earths One and Two in a future unobstructed by the calamity that fell upon the Multiverse during the Crisis on Infinite Earths!

Titanic Teen Teams: Alliterate Avengers Assemble

Earths One and Two had a plethora of superhero teams. While most of these consisted of adult costumed crusaders, there were a few second and third-generation heroes who likewise gathered together. Interestingly, the two more famous adolescent assembled avengers of both worlds had alliterate names, two word names each with the same starting letter. 

On Earth-One, the first of these was the Teen Titans, originally consisting of charter members Robin, Kid Flash and Aqualad. Each was a sidekick to a member of the Justice League of America, eventually joined by two other sidekicks in Donna “Wonder Girl Troy and Speedy. Following this, te next four teammates were new heroes Mal Duncan, Lilith Clay, and brothers Hank "Hawk" Hall and Don "Dove" Hall. On Earth-Two, their four counterparts Tommy "Little Boy Blue" Rodger’s, Janie "Little Miss Redhead", and pals Toughy and Tommy who formed the Blue Boys who later joined the Junior Justice Society. As for the Earth-Two versions of Robin, Donna Troy and Speedy… these never joined the Blue Boys… although the lads were members of the All-Star Squadron while Donna was one of the Holiday Girls who aided Wonder Woman. The Titans later gained more members such as Bat-Girl, Gnaark, Bumblebee, Golden Eagle, Beast Boy and the Harlequin.

Eventually, two new teams took the place of the Teen Titans and Blue Boys, those being the Forever People of Earth-One and Infinity, Inc. of Earth-Two. The Forever People only had five members in Mark Moonrider, Beautiful Dream, Vykin the Black, Big Bear and Serafin. As for the sons and daughters of the Justice Society of America who formed Infinity, Inc. was far larger with founding members Silver Scarab, Fury, Northwind, Neblon, Star-Spangled Kid, Obsidian, Jade, Brainwave Junior as well as honorary members the Huntress and Power Girl. As with the Teen Titans, Infinity, Inc. would expand to include additional members such as Wildcat II, Hourman II and Doctor Midnight II... while being assisted behind-the-scenes by the Harlequin.

The Forever People briefly operated between the period when the Teen Titans first disbanded, then leaving Earth-One for good just prior to the Titans reforming. The Blue Boys were the predecessor to Infinity, Inc,, with the latter team still fighting together during the same period of time when the New Teen Titans began the third incarnation of that team.

Greedy Green Gordanians Goad Global Guardians

The rogue reptilian Gordanian of planet Karna were known throughout the Vega star system as slavers of various worlds, at times working alongside the Citadel empire. Eventually, their conflict spilled over into the Terran  system, where their forces met Earth's heroes.

On Earth-One, the  invading Gordanians were in pursuit of Tamaran Princess Koriand'r, aka Starfire. This brought them into conflict with the recently assembled New Teen Titans, of whom Starfire joined. A later encounter was led her sister Blackfire aka Komand'r, which likewise led to their defeat. Their other foes were the Omega Men, led by Primus of planet Euophiox.

Residents of Euophiox's cosmic twin planet Tora* were oppressed by their reality's version of the Gordanians. Seeking assistance, the leader of Tora known as Beran lured several humans of Earth-Two** including Batman and Robin to his world via a rocket ship disguised as a tourist attraction. On Tora, the Dynamic Duo and their Terran and Toran allies allied with the former jailers of the Gordanians, capturing their forces and liberating the planet. 

* We know that this tale, in 1958, took place on Earth-Two and not on Earth-One, as Robin's counterpart did not recognize nor acknowledge the Gordanians when they first battled his Titans.

** A divergent strand of Gordanians journeyed to Earth-Two, led by Ayrn the Underlord, where they built a vast subterranean city underneath the surface. They briefly had an alliance with the Injustice Society, and afterwards battled the Justice Society of America.

Legendary Legacy Lads and Lasses of the Justice Society

The year 1940 saw the dawn of superhero teams, with the debut of the Justice Society of America. For the next decade, they would be the standard bearers that would imspire other such teams. On their Earth-Two these included Law's Legionnaires or Seven Soldiers of Victory, the Blue Boys, All-Star Squadron, Freedom Fighters, among others.

Their stories would be relayed on other Earths in the form of comicbooks, with writers of those worlds having their minds "attuned" to the frequencies of the Multiverse which provided them the material to chronicle these adventures. On Earth-One especially, several heroes debuted there having adopted alter egos of Justice Society members. Perhaps most notable was police scientist Barry Allen, who after gaining the power of superspeed, decided to live out his boyhood dream and imitate the JSA member known as the Flash, aka police scientist Jay Garrick. Just prior to their historic meeting, Barry-Flash joined other heroes to form the Justice League of America.

And so, various other masked men also appeared to be the next generation of superheroes, carrying on the traditions of the originals. Such ones as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Atom, Hawkman, Hawkgirl... each new version mirrored the first version years earlier.

However, on Earth-Two, a new generation of heroes was already appearing in the mid-1950s. The first to appear was Tornado Tot, secretly the infant pair of aspiring heroes known as Sugar Plumm and Cecil "Spike" Wilson, who borrowed a flying costume created by a neighborhood kid. They were of course inspired by the wanna-be Justice Society member, Ma Hunkle aka Red Tornado. Within a year after the Tot had their first, and last, case... yet another Red Tornado appeared. This one, however, was an android created by criminal mastermind T.O. Morrow with the intent of sabotaging the Justice Society from within. Thankfully, this android Tornado proved honorable, and helped them defeat his creator and join their ranks. After a few years, Tornado moved to Earth-One to join the Justice League.

The next legacy hero to appear did so secretly at first. This occured in 1969 after a tragic tale involving the death of Dinah and Larry Lance, as they alongside the Justice Society and Justice League defeated the cosmic being known as Aquarius. As Dinah, also known as Black Canary, was dying from extensive radiation exposure, she recalled a daughter kept in suspended animation within the Thunderbolt Dimension for decades. This child had been given a dangerous sonic power, which unlike the girl's counterpart Silver Swan who gained this ability as an adult, was unable to master as such as young age. With Johnny Thunder and Superman's help, the mother's memories were implanted into those of her sleeping daughter, now an adult... and this younger Dinah became the new Black Canary. Joining the Justice League's membership on Earth-One, she honored her mother's legacy.

Soon after this, another blonde bombshell arrived on Earth-Two after the previous one had departed. This lass was Kara Zor-L, the long-lost cousin of Kal-L aka Superman, who had been traveling through space for several decades while slumbering within her Symbioship as she experience a virtual reality Kryptonian existence. She would be welcomed into her cousin Kal/Clark Kent's home, and would form a strong bond with Clark's wife Lois Lane Kent. However, unlike her counterpart of Earth-One Kara Zor-El, she did not adopt a legacy alias of Supergirl. Instead, she broke the mold and named herself Power Girl, years later joining the Justice Society and becoming a key member.

In the late 1970s and early 1970s, several more legacy heroes appeared as the children and protégées of the Justice Society approached adulthood. First among them was Helena "Huntress" Wayne, daughter of Batman and Catwoman. She like Barbara "Batgirl" Gordon of Earth-One, proved every bit as adept as her male mentor.

Others included: Hawkman and Hawkgirl's son Hector "Silver Scarab" Hall, Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor's daughter Lyta "Fury" Trevor, Green Lantern's children Jennie Lynn "Jade" Hayden and Todd "Obsidian" Rice, and the godsons of Atom and Hawkman in Albert "Nuklon" Rothstein" and Norda "Northwind" Cantrell, as well as Hourman’s son Rick Tyler.

Alongside these original members of Infinity, Inc., additional members such as Hourman's son Rick Tyler, Wildcat's goddaughter Yolanda Montez, and Doctor Mid-Nite's protegee Beth Chapel each adopted the alter egos of their mentors somewhat later. They would mirror the New Teen Titans, led by Dick "Robin" Grayson who like his Earth-Two counterpart was the first such legacy hero. 

However, the Titans were composed more of sidekicks such as Wonder Girl, Kid Flash, Aqualad, and Speedy... which were also present on Infinity Inc.'s world and were their own distinct type of legacy hero. While the golden age Holliday Girl Donna Troy, Johnny "Johnny Quick" Chambers and Neptune Perkins were less connected to their world's Wonder Woman, Flash, and Aquaman, they were still carrying on the torch of these legends with their own heroic spirit in the face of danger.

Fiery Foes of Teen Titans: Flamesplasher and Flare

Both the Teen Titans and the Blue Boys faced their fair share of foes, some costumed and fancy, most plainclothed and routine. There were a few flashy fiends whom the fearless friends faced and foiled. These were the Flamesplasher Twins and the Flare, working for crooked district attorneys. And these villains main opponents were a pair of horn tooting musicians.

Two-Face recruited three pairs of twins to battle the Teen Titans of Earth-One with his goal to have one set of these supervillians to steal authentic valuable items, while the other trio steal copies of them. A former district attorney, Harvey Dent like his counterpart Harvey Kent was a recurring nemesis of Batman. However, this time is was his enemy's sidekick Robin... along with that lad's Teen Titan teammates... that stymied his plans. During this confrontation, Dent met his supposed daughter Duela "Harlequin" Dent, while his minions were each defeated by the Titans... as would he. The Flamesplasher Twins, one with a flame gun and another with a water gun, sought revenged against the Titans. However, it was the last remaining Titan, Mal Duncan aka Guardian, who with the Newsboy Legion defeated him. This time without his fabled horn.

The Flare was a recurring adversary of the Blue Boys of Earth-Two, using his pyro-pistol to shot flames at his foes. On three occasions, the Boys along with their leader, the horn-carrying Little Boy Blue, found a way to overpower and/or outsmart the Flare. In their last battle, the Flare disguised one of his henchmen into becoming a twin of District Attorney Rogers, father of Little Boy Blue, with the goal of discrediting the man. When he once more failed, the Flare apparently retired from crime.

Second Generation Wonders: The Beginning

Honoring the heroes that came before them, who were mentors and parental figures, each Earth would have young teenagers who carried on the legacies of their legendary forebearers. Here are a few such examples on three Earths.

At the start, three costumed kids teamed up to save a seaside community. Prior to this, an untold tale revealed that in fact five of these well known sidekicks had joined forces in order to combat their mentors in the Justice League, who had been mentally controlled by an alien entity of unknown origins. These five: Robin, Kid Flash, Aqualad, Wonder Girl and Speedy... became the founders of the Teen Titans. They would routinely battle street level thugs such as gangs, jewel thieves, and the like.

Occasionally, they'd face Aliens from Dimension X and kooky criminals like the fashion foible known as Mad Mod. While Aqualad retreated to the sea where he felt more useful, his four team mates remained together off and on throughout the years.

Although at one point, Robin left the team when the others were recruited by Mister Jupiter into a new training program following a tragic incident when they were unable to save a victim of an assassination attempt. The loss of Nobel Prize winner Doctor Arthur Swenson impacted the teens, aging them beyond their years overnight.

It was during this time that four new members joined the Titans: Mal the Hornblower, Lilith, Hawk and Dove. Later, there would be a West Coast Teen Titans and even later a New Teen Titans that would add additional members.

Another team of teens had formed in the early 1940s, known as the Blue Boys. consisting of Little Boy Blue, Little Miss Redhead, Tubby and Toughy. These corresponded to the four new Titans that joined the founding five.

Decades later, the dawn of what would become known as Infinity, Inc. assembled in the mansion of Diana and Steve Trevor, the former secretly Wonder Woman. While their parents or guardians in the Justice Society were being honored by the President of the United States, along with future teammates of these kids in Power Girl and Star-Spangled Kid, the four kids left at the Trevor home got involved in a misadventure involving an anti-gravitational baseball and an invisible jet. From these hi-jinks, a bond formed between Hector Hall, Al Rothstein, Rick Tyler and their young hostess Lyta Hall... and would reignite as young adults under the aliases of Silver Scarab, Nuklon, Hourman and Fury.

Others would join them at different times later on, creating Infinity, Inc. which like the New Teen Titans spawned second generation of superheroes of parallel planets of Earths One and Two.

A third team of teens, the Marvel Family, had their own path that led them to become their world's premier superhero organization. Consisting of Captain Marvel, Mary Marvel, Captain Marvel Junior, and the three Lieutenant Marvels of Fat, Tall and Hill. Not to be forgotten, their older mentor and funny animal assistant in Uncle Marvel and Marvel Bunny. This Earth-S team was fully formed but still experience growing pains of their own.

Titanic Teams: Infinite Titans

While we previously considered them in an earlier post, its educational to reevaluate these twin youth movements. No they were not to first... even amidst their age bracket. The New Teen Titans were the successor of... you guessed it... the original Teen Titans headlined by Robin, Wonder Girl, Kid Flash, Speedy and Aqualad. Later members included Hawk, Dove, Lilith and Mal Duncan. This quartet harkening an earlier era on a parallel planet with the Junior Justice Society of America. And, lest we forget, the All-Star Super Squad consisting of Power Girl, Robin and Star-Spangled Kid had worked alongside the Justice Society versus Brainwave before its members were recruited by the JSA. This led to the more famous incarnation of adolescent avengers on their world was Infinity, Inc.

What made both teams unique was that they were second generation groups, building upon the success of their World's Greatest Superhero Teams. While the Titans were sidekicks (and the sister/nephew in Wonder Girl and Kid Flashs' case) of the Justice League, the Infinitors were the children (or wards as in Nuklon and Northwind) of the Justice Society. In both instances, there was a bit of a generation gap causing tension at times between the older and young sets of supers, although for the Infinitors its was more difficult relating to those that were like older parents or grandparents rather than idnviduals that were like big brother and sisters as in the case of the Titans. In fact, in their initial cases the Titans and Infinitors fought the brain-controlled Leaguers and Socialities, saving the world in the process. Still, a budding respect formed due to their selfless sacrifices for the cause of good. And each team carried the torch of heroism admirably for another era now and that yet to come...

Fawcett's Finest: Tremendous Titans Three

Early in his caped career as Captain Marvel, he learned that the young boy who was connected with him was only one of four lads named Billy Batson. While facing his arch enemy Sivana, Cap discovered that Fat Billy from Brooklyn, Hill Billy from the southern United States and Tall Bill from the western part of the county can call upon the same source of power to transform themselves into Fat Marvel, Hill Marvel and Tall Marvel respectively... each possessing superhumanly powerful bodies. Assembled they are the Lieutenant Marvels, and alongside the Captain they were also charter members of the Squadron of Justice. 

They would periodically join forces to aid the Marvel Family, as would another honorary Marvel in Freckles Dudley.

The older Lieutenants' contemporaneous counterparts on Earth-Two would be the three members of a Patrol consisting of Slim, Fred and Pedro who most key operate out of Europe for the duration of World War II before coming to America for a post-war career as she superhuman protectors. They would be aided by Norah Blaine, who like Freckles was a fearless female even without powers of her own. And both of these teams also mirrored the Doom Patrol of Earth-One, who had radically transformed Rita "Elasti-Girl" Farr, Garfield "Beast Boy" Legion Logan, and Larry "Negative Man" Trainor... aided by their handicapped benefactor Niles "Chief" Caulder. And just as both Patrols had Robotman which they were associated with, an honorary member of the Lieutenant Marvels' Family had dealings with a robot in the evil Mister Atom who like Robotman raced cars.

As for the three younger alter egos of the Marvels, the three Billy Batsons from Brooklyn, Tennessee and Texas, were dopplegangers of the trio of crimefighting crusaders known as the Blue Boys from Earth-Two. That team, correlating with the Batsons, were their leader Little Boy Blue aka Tommy Rodgers... Tall Billy's twin, Blue Boy Tubby's twin of Fat Billy, and Blue Boy Toughy's twin of Hill Billy.

Earth-One would likewise have a team of Teen Titans in Mal Duncan aka Guardian, as well as Hank and Don Hall aka Hawk and Dove. The Marvel Family was the preeminent protectors of Earth-S, whereas the Titans and Boys were second fiddles to the adult teams of their respective worlds.

Titantic Towers of Terrific Troubleshooters

Titan's Tower was the brainchild of Doctor Silas Stone, father to Victor Stone aka Cyborg, created as recompense for what Silas' interdimensional research did to his son. Believing that Victor would only feel at ease with other teens that weren't normal, he equipped Titan's Tower with state-of-the-art equipment. This locale eventually became not only the Teen Titan's headquarters but also an emergency base for all of Earth-One's heroes... such as during the Crisis.

The Tower of Fate was constructed by another doctor, Doctor Fate as a home for his apprentice alter ego Kent Nelson and Nelson's wife Inza. This base was constructed of bricks rather than steel, but as with the former this facility was also impregnable to most attacks from opponents. Occasionally, other heroes of Earth-Two would visit the tower including Atom and Amazing-Man (although he wasn't an ally at that point), even Earth-One's Superman.

Generation Gap: Teen Teams Triumph

The Multiverse is filled not only with counterparts between parallel planets but even within subsequent generations on their same world. Prime examples are the Teen Titans and Infinity, Inc. and their forefathers and mothers of the Justice League and Justice Society of Earths One and Two.

From Robin and Huntress copying the caped crusaders the Batmen, to Wonder Girl and Fury influenced by the Wonder Women, to Golden Eagle and Northwind inspired by the Hawkmen. While not matching the originals, the younger generation harnessed the same heroism exemplified by their mentors. And as teams, the teens bonded in a manner that the originals never could, as their individual legends were enhanced by their reputation as titanic teen teams.

Although the Earth-Two teens... Infinity, Inc... appeared later as a group than had Earth-One's Teen Titans, their forebearers in a sense was Little Boy Blue and his Blue Boys team which operated decades before the Titans had. And that's not even considering their Robin, Speedy and other teens like Sandy the Golden Boy and Dyna-Mite as well as Star-Spangled Kid and Wing... all members of the All-Star Squadron during World War II. The silver age Robin and Speedy as well as their compatriots were more residents in the groovy sixties (or later, considering that world's sliding time scale). Nevertheless, these teams were timeless in nature, capturing the enthusiasm of youth.
