Untold Teamup Tales of the Justice League & Justice Society

As evidenced by the existence of an unaffected future for the Legion of Super-Heroes, Brane "Batman" Taylor, Bilbat"Captain Marv", and a Kamandi... there were multiple 30th century timelines set apart from one another. These heroes' realities remained separate and distinct from one another. Their realities... Earth-One, Earth-Two, Earth-S and Earth-A.D... where each their own unique location within the Mulitverse. As previously ascerted, this proves that a future timeline existed and was thus spared from the cross-contamination of a merged post Crisis on Infinite Earths singular universe, which itself would repeatedly reboot and readjust itself.

With this in mind, we can hypothesize additional untold tales of those 20th century heroes, including several annual teamups between the Justice League of America and the Justice Society of America. These involved additional teams, on both their own worlds and alternate Earths. This harmonizes with the pattern they set for decades, when the JLA and JSA encountered the Crime Syndicate of Earth-Three, the Lawless League of Earth-A, the Seven Soldiers of Victory of Earth-Two, the Freedom Fighters of Earth-X (and formerly of Earth-Two), the Squadron of Justice of Earth-S, the Legion of Super-Heroes of Earth-One, the New Gods of an adjacent Earth-One reality, and the All-Star Squadron of Earth-Two.

What were some of these teamups? Thanks to the inventive mind of Multiverse historian David Stepp, we get a glimpse into some of these amazing adventures:

  • The League and Society teamup with Sentinels of Justice of Earth-Four to defend that world against an incursion by the Crime Champions, a gang of villains originally consisting of Earth-One's Chronos, Felix Faust and Doctor Alchemy and Earth-Two's Icicle, Wizard and Gambler. Evidentally, this sinister six expanded their roster to include Sentinal adversaries the Ghost, Doctor Spectro, Punch and Jewelee. To combat this, JLAers Batman, Green Arrow, and Red Tornado as well as JSAers Atom, Hourman and Starman are joined in the fight by Sentinal members Captain Atom, Nightshade and Blue Beetle as well as their ally the Son of Vulcan. The result of this confrontation undoubtedly proved better for Earth-Four than had the Crisis' "Villain War", which left portions of that world in environmental chaos unleashed by the costumed criminals and their mammoth sentient toxic weapon of war, Chemo.
  • The Justice Society journeyed to Earth-One to assist the Justice League and the League's next generation protégées, the New Teen Titans, versus the malevolent Brother Blood and his Church of Blood from the nation of Zandia. Sebastian Blood possibly snatched the Powerstone, prompting the intervention of the JSA. Thanks to the intervention of these three titanic teams, led by New Teen Titans' leader Dick "Robin" Grayson and Justice Society member Dick "Nightwing" Grayson (although why the younger Dick reverted to his Robin alias rather than remain as Nightwing is unknown).
  • Sinestro uses his ability to mentally manipulate others (which he has formerly used in a Brave and Bold tale when he controlled the Oan Guardians of Earth-One’s Universe while disguised as one of their own... and later when he exerted mind-control over his fellow Korugarians) to coerce select members of the Green Lantern Corps into becoming his second Sinestro Corps. Apparently, he sought to succeed where he had years earlier failed, when cloning himself a dozen time into the first incarnation of the Sinestro Corp when he and his minions invaded Earth-Two. The Justice Society's involvment in this tale indicates that Sinestro brought over these Corps men and women to Earth-Two for a repeat incursion into that world, one thwarted by the JLA and JSA led by Green Lanterns Hal Jordan and Alan Scott of those respective teams.
  • In a two-part crossover, the Time Trapper recruits fellow temporal thieves the Lord of Time of Earth-One and Per Degaton of Earth-Two to ensnare the majority of the Justice League and Justice Society in a time trap in the 30th century of Earth-Two. In part two, the remaining Leaguers and Socialites journey to the 30th century of Earth-One to recruit the aid of the Legion of Super-Heroes from that era in helping them battle their old foe Trapper and his cronies, but end up settling for the Legion of Substitute Heroes who help them after defeating the Legion of Super-Villains sent by the Time Trio to thwart them.
  • Finally, the Justice Society individually face off against the Crime Society, a version of the Crime Syndicate but from a different world than that of Earth-Three. This Crime Society is modeled off the Justice Lords, a team of renegade superheroes who took the law into their own hand, administering their perverted form of authoritarian justice upon President Lex Luthor and his criminal minions on their world. This Crime Society would undoubtedly have invaded Earth-Two, just as the Crime Syndicate had invaded that world and Earth-One several years earlier. Perhaps the Justice League later became involved, aiding the Society as they had versus the Syndicate.
  • These are just a few examples of potential probable plotlines involving the Greatest Heroes of Earths One and Two in a future unobstructed by the calamity that fell upon the Multiverse during the Crisis on Infinite Earths!

Parallel Planes Phasing Physics: Vibratory Frequencies of the Multiverse

Piercing the dimensional barrier between universe involves syncing one's body to the precise vibratory frequency of one's destination dimension. In other words, individuals inherently have a vibratory rate that matches that of their native realm, and even with traversing and entering a new phase of existence they would still have the same natural frequency which when relaxed could draw them back to their home world.

In 1965, Hal Jordan in his Green Lantern alter ego adopted the means to transport himself from his native Earth-One into that of Earth-Two, using cyclical forces similar to those first discovered by his teammate Barry "Flash" Allen. Sometime in 1968, the elemental force from the planet Rann-One known as the Tornado Champion similarly utilized this technique to travel to Earth-Two. Merging its cyclical body with the android body of the Red Tornado, this combined being joined the Justice Society, the heir to the original Red Tornado aka Ma Hunkle.

Still later, he was used as a pawn by Creator2 to draw Earth-Two of his universe together with Earth-One... with the goal of destroying the merged planet which he intended to reshape into a new world. Although this failed, it became readily evident that these vibrational-shifts could do more than move an object or entity between universes... it could have potentially devastating consequences.

Years later, when the criminal Iron Hand spawned his world-encircling hand construct composed of Nebuloid-energy, it was only thanks to the intervention of the Red Tornado with a Nebula Rod which destroyed this threat to Earth-Two. However, the Nebuloid energy seemed to counteract vibratory powers, as Red Tornado was now unable to return to his android body's home universe. Instead, he was now tied to his cyclical body's native universe of Earth-One, which he was thrown into following the Nebula Hand's destruction. Despite his desperate attempts to return to Earth-Two, until the Crisis on Infinite Earths, Red Tornado remained on Earth-One.

In the subsequent years following the Flash of two Earths, Barry Allen and Jay Garrick ... and later Green Lantern and Red Tornado's... journeys to each other's universes, more would follow. In addition to dozens of crossovers on both Earths by the Justice League and Justice Society, their enemies would venture into the parallel planet of their homeworld seeking to succeed in their sinister schemes. And others would later permanently trade places, migrating to the other Earth: These included:

  • Black Canary and M'La
  • The Spectres of two Earths
  • Terrible trios who battled the Green Lanterns
  • T.O. Morrow and the Immortal Man
  • Others during the Crisis on Infinite Earths

The Glorn: Creatures of Interdimensional Limbo in the DC Multiverse

The buffer dimension between universes, later labeled as interdimensional limbo, was a realm first accessed in the 20th century by inhabitants of Earth. Although traversed when individuals migrated from one dimensional plane to another, it was first used as a base of operations by the Crime Champions in 1963. The six supervillians, three from Earth-One and three from Earth-Two, built a secret base in limbo to elude capture by their foes the Justice League and Justice Society. Despite this, they were defeated, and this headquarters would years later be where those two heroic teams and a third, Earth-S' Squadron of Justice, would meet during a future crisis.

Shortly after battling the Crime Champions, the League and Society encountered the Crime Syndicate of Earth-Three. After a series of battles, the Syndicate was captured and left in an emerald shperical prison created by Green Lantern and his allies, within limbo itself. Given limbo's timeless nature, this was a shorter period of time from the Syndicate's perspective than that of the Earths, where several years passed.

This realm was next breached by the Secret Society of Super-Villians, traveling from Earth-One to Earth-Two, led by the Wizard who sought to finally defeat his foes in the Justice Society with his new cronies. They and their opponent Captain Comet inadverently met, freed then faced the Syndicate... who briefly returned to Earth-Three then were sent back to limbo.

While this was occuring, a sentient species that developed from within limbo known as the Glorn were using their biologically based science to pierce the dimensional fabric, searching for an individual with the means to permanently open the portal between worlds. As they rose to intelligence due to radio waves seeping in from the Earths... radio waves first picked up and amplified by devices created by the evil genius worm known as Mister Mind...they knew that sonic energy was needed not only to teleport to other universes but also to stabilize their modified bodies.

Dinah "Black Canary" Lance was a native of Earth-Two who migrated to Earth-One and possessed sonic powers bequeathed on her out of vengeance by her mother's old adversary the Wizard. Due to both her transdimensional nature and her "canary cry", the Glorn's leader the Hivemaster pinpointed that she was the key to their conquest of her adopted world. However, after kidnapping the Canary and then ensnaring both she and her boyfriend Oliver "Green Arrow" Queen, the Glorn left themselves open to an attack by the pair. Surmising that radio waves turned the insectoid Glorn into intelligent creatures, she used her Justice League communicator to flood the Glorn's citadel with radio waves. No longer protected by the high-pitch cry of the Canary, the lower frequency radio waves transformed the Glorn back to their original non-threatening insectoid forms.

Thus, when years later a new Secret Society of Super-Villians from Earths One and Two were themselves exiled within interdimensional limbo, they never encountered the sentinent Glorn.

What If Crisis Happened Differently in 1986?

From Amazing World of DC #12: “The pivotal time will be October, 1986... and in that month, the future of the world will be decided. Either the path of the Great Disaster will be taken, and civilization will fall, or the path of sanity will prevail and the Legion of Super-Heroes will emerge triumphant a thousand years later. Until that moment… two alternate futures of the DC universe… chronicled in a different set of magazines.”

“SUPERMAN #295 established the essential crossroad: a Green Lantern of the future came to 1975 to insure that the dual timelines might develop without outside interference. He explained the concept of alternate, parallel futures each of which exists and is real, born of a single critical decision somewhere in human history.”

“The next few years are safe scientific progress will take place, civilization will grow more stable, and the society chronicled in OMAC will emerge. This is the society which may fall in World War Three, and whose descendants will suffer the Great Disaster. But if World War Three does not take place at that time, then generations later the Legion will appear.”

What developed was a war between the Olympians and the forces of Darkseid from the planet Apokolips. The resulting conflict would spill over into Earth-One, causing the Great Disaster from this third World War, causing animals to mutate into intelligent entities. This would be the alternate future reality known as Earth-AD in which seemingly ordinary Buddy Blank became its superhuman protector, Omac (One-Man Army Corps), powered by a sentient satellite known as Brother Eye.

When that Eye originally was destroyed, Blank returned to normal and ended up raising his grandson in a bunker known as Command D. Losing his life to protect his descendant, that grandson continued his heroic legacy, becoming the youth known as Kamandi. In the main timeline, the boy grew up and was raised by General Horatio Tomorrow, and became the ace Planeteer named Tommy Tomorrow. Other potential future inhabitants included the Atomic Knights, while Wonder Woman's Amazonian sisters remained shielded from the Disaster by moving to an alternate dimension.

When the aforementioned Green Lantern from a thousand years in the future disguised himself as the villainous Father Time*, he sent Superman into his era but in the Great Disaster timeline. Battling a future champion with powers like his, Superman and his opponent unleashed enough energy to revert the timelines into two separate futures.

It was revealed by "Father Time" that the evil Time Trapper* manipulated energy from the future Green Lantern Corps in order to eliminate the 30th century prime timeline, thereby erasing from existence his old foes the Legion of Super-Heroes. With that future now restored, it once more became the Earth-One unaffected by either the Great Disaster of Earth-AD or the Crisis on Infinite Earths, both of which occurred in two distinct futures.

However, Sergeant Gardner Grayle was inserted into a virtual reality experiment by S.T.A.R. Labs, which inadvertently created a replica of life after the Great Disaster, mirroring events similar to those experience in the Earth-AD timeline. Superman helped to reverse this experiment, freeing Grayle and other individuals within this virtual reality.

While this occurred, the future of Earth-Two and other parallel Earths had their own distinct branching futures. On Earth-Two, one future spawned the Space Legion, Brane Taylor aka Batman and the Defenders of its prime 30th century, and the divergent future Earth-2A in which the champion known as Gary Concord the Ultra-Man and his similarly named son resided.

* The Father Time of Earth-Two was a disgruntled intellectual who came into possession of a mysterious "time scythe" which alters the molecular composition of cells. The villain used this for common thefts, until he and his gang were brought to justice by the Justice Society honorary member Wildcat.

** Time Trapper's Earth-Two counterpart, Doctor Doome, had ventured into the future following his defeat at the hands of Law's Legionnaires, and used his time machine to escape capture. It is unknown if his influence somehow created the branching future timeline of Earth-Two-A, although this is a distinct possibility.

The Master Plan of the Buddak OR Mirror-Mirror Guardians

In August of 1970, the oldest alien entities of a distant galaxy apparently enlisted the aid of a master builder known as Creator2 into creating a planet to become the center of their universe. In order to do this, they would have to destroy the world where it was located and in its place create a replica of the planet Oa in the Earth-One* positive matter universe, and the planet Qward in the Anti-Matter universe. And that doomed world was Earth-Two!

In order to perform this dastardly deed, after determining that its denizens weren't worthy of continued existence, Creator2 captured and converted the android Red Tornado... making him a focal point to merge Earth-Two with its closest cosmic counterpart, Earth-One. This was possible because Red Tornado was a being of two universes, his android exterior and programming spawned from Earth-Two, and his inner cyclonic being and personality were from Earth-One's dimension.

With the two Earths occupying the same space in Earth-Two's universe, both would be destroyed. The resulting material and energy unleashed from this explosion would be the elements that Creator2 could use to create a Oa/Qward twin. The Justice Society thwarted this scheme, with Creator2 and his pawns perishing instead. Instrumental in their defeat and his world's preservation was Doctor Fate, and he could soon have to once more defend it when the aliens behind this amoral act appeared to finish the job...

In December 1971, those aliens known as the Buddak came to Earth-Two in order to complete their servant Creator2’s task. Unleashing their powers, on par with those of their counterparts the Guardians of Earth-One's Universe, the Buddak unleashed natural disasters and other climatic events including the shifting of continents. Yet before they could redesign Earth-Two into another Oa or Qward, Superman and Doctor Fate intervened and stopped them.

Sometime later, Darkseid of the planet Apokolips attempted to shift his world from Earth-One's universe to where Earth-Two was located... thus bringing it into the center of that universe as its own version of Oa which he could rule. Many years later, during a possible future after the Crisis on Infinite Earths, Superboy of Earth-Prime and Alex Luthor of Earth-Three temporarily shifted the new sole universe so that instead of Oa, the space where Earth-Two had been now the center of the universe...to restore the Multiverse.

* The Weaponers of Qward created a bridge from their planet, at the center of the Anti-Matter Universe, to an alternative world to Oa to the center of the prime positive-matter universe, that being Earth-One. This space bridge would be used repeatedly by Hal Jordan aka Green Lantern and others from time to time.

Batman Family: No Way Home - A Movie Proposal

During a climatic battle with an invasive adversary, the masked hero protects a city in peril, but ends up having his identity revealed to the entire world. This not only effects his reputation, but also that of those closest to him. Then, a doctor uses his abilities to make all humanity forget that precious secret identity. However, in the resulting battle heroes from several Earths battle villains displaced from across the Multiverse, including multiple versions of the same costumed crusaders. In the end, all mankind forgets the existence of the hero(es), making them no longer attached to those around them. And the brave heroine of the tale who fought to help all she met... perished.

This would make an excellent movie for the Batman Family, especially Helena Wayne aka the Huntress.  The tale of when her father Commissioner Bruce Wayne became the Batman one last time, in order to save Gotham City from Bill Jensen, a man who could materialize his very thoughts. Despite defeating Jensen, the villian scored a victory against his hated foes... and those whom he loved.

After having his identity revealed in the end, the entire  world learned both who Batman was, and the double identities of his daughter Helena and his ward Richard. Finding the man responsible for this conflict and bringing him to justice, Huntress and Robin's teammate Doctor Fate made all mankind forget their knowledge of the Wayne and Grayson family's dual identities.

Sadly, only a few years later, both Huntress and Robin died in the Crisis on Infinite Earths, when the fabric between realities tore the Multiverse apart. After battling assembled villians from various Earths, Huntress and Robin lost their identities, and ultimately, their very lives.

May she never be forgotten.

The Future of the Multiverse: From Brainiac-Five to Brane to Bilbat

While we have previously stated this fact on this very blog, the foregoing bares repeating in light of the subject now discussed. According to the law of conservation of mass, also known as the principle of mass/matter conservation, is that the mass of a closed system will remain constant over time. The mass of an isolated system cannot be changed as a result of processes acting inside the system. A similar statement is that mass cannot be created/destroyed, although it may be rearranged in space, and changed into different types of particles. This is a universal, yes even a multiversal principle.

And so it goes, the Multiverse exists still, despite the seeming permanence left in the wake that was the Crisis on Infinite Earths. But how can this be, since a new composite Earth... known as perhaps "New Crisis" Earth... picked up the remnants of the previous surviving Earths 1, 2, 4, S and X (as well as Earth-8, as it later turned out)?

And after another universe-shattering event or two, this world was replaced by first New Earth-0 and now Prime Earth? These are all simply iterations of fractured timelines, and from such divergent realities it is harder to bridge them to the roots buried far below. However, these are mere images that reflect and refract that which came before it.

Definitive proof that these worlds and their respective universes continued on centuries after the Crisis in shown by the tales chronicled of future eras, such as Earth-1's Legion of Super-Heroes, Earth-2's Brane "Batman" Taylor and his sidekick Ricky, Earth-S' Bilbat "Capmarv", and Earth-AD's Kamandi.

Such characters interacted with 20th century characters... who themselves were deeply involved in the Crisis. In the instance of the Legion, they had on multiple occasions traversed time to aid time period wherein their inspiration Superboy had operated, and he along with his cousin Supergirl as well as some of their friends also made the journey to the Legion's 30th century.

For Brane Taylor, on two occasions he utilized time travel technology to pierce the barrier between himself and his own inspiration, the golden age Batman. Similarly, the descendent of Billy Batson, Bilbat, benefited from his own meeting with his heroic ancestor Captain Marvel. This CapMarv operated at the same time on Earth-S as his counterparts Klar Ken and Craig King who were the 30th century versions of Superman. In both instances, these more novice new century heroes became More experienced so after they gained valuable insight from the fearless forebearers.

Hence, either the Crisis didn't transpire in these timelines, or the outcome was drastically different in that these separate realities did not merged by remained separate and distinct. Thus, we at DC Multiverse persist in our chronicling these Earths as such.

Batman Saves Bruce Wayne and... Earth-Five???

Throughout the career of the Batmen, they have always proved victorious versus the forces of evil. Well, almost always. That event which spawned both the golden and silver age versions of the Dark Knight has always haunted them, the night when they lost their parents Thomas and Martha Wayne at the hands of mugger Joe Chill. At this point in 1981, the Batman of Earth-Two had already died, having prevented another tragedy, the lost of his dear wife Selina "Catwoman" Wayne. In a twist, his counterpart on Earth-One would face a role reversal from his late twin, the chance to save his family... or at least the Waynes of Earth-Five.

When his occasional ally and fellow Justice Leaguer (debatable), the Phantom Stranger, appears with Robin alongside... Batman is offered the opportunity to save this new world's Thomas and Martha.

And so, the Dynamic Duo appear on Earth-Five, almost immediately getting in the crosshair of that Gotham's Police and Lt. James Gordon. After some research, they determine the location of the Wayne family, and track down criminal mastermind Lew Moxon and his hired gun Joe Chill. Neither are the individual who would ultimately confront the Wayne's in what would come to be known as Crime Alley. Yet once Batman and Robin deduced that this was the date and time when the tragic event was to occur, the Caped Crusader swooped down to vanquish the would-be mugger assassin. The Wayne family returned to their normal life, with young Bruce Wayne of this world inspired by the heroic example he had just witnessed.

Although living on an Earth with no heroic legends and in a universe where Krypton apparently didn't exist, it was this young man who would one day adopt the same caped cowl as Earth-Five's future hero. Whether there was a version of the Stranger on that world was not revealed, although another mystery man labeled "Unknown" was a contemporary of the original Batman, although his path led to less than honorable pursuits in the end. But to continue the tale of the young Wayne himself...

Since the narrative in this story stated what would occur once he was an adult, more than five years in the future when the Crisis on Infinite Earths had occurred, this would prove even further that in one timeline, the Multiverse still existed. As would the Batman of Earth-Five, over a decade later!

This event was earlier mirrored by the journey that the golden age Batman and Robin undertook from their native Earth-Two to that of Earth-S. Only they were brought over to that world by a resident of that realm, not their world's version of Stranger. And the person substituting for the suit clad Stranger was an equally powerful Justice Society member along for the ride in Johnny Thunder.

The golden age Caped Crusaders met their own counterparts on Earth-S in fellow Gothamites Mister Scarlet and Pinky, battling the Joker and Weeper...themselves pawns of immortal mastermind King Kull.

While the noble Stranger faced vile villians such as Tannarak and Tala, his foes' Earth-Two twins were immortal painter Henri Duvall (a swashbuckling hero before turning into a villainous foe of Doctor Occult) and the Queen of EvilLand (recurring foe of Uncle Sam) who never met the Stranger’s counterpart... Lando the Unknown... but did face Ted "Starman" Knight post-Crisis.

As the Earth-Two Phantom Stranger, Lando had vague powers and no origin. Both wore tuxedos draped as men of mystery with enigmatic abilities and curious insight. Lando never met the Dynamic Duo of his world, but had clashed twice with the Dark Knight's ally in the Justice Society, Doctor Fate. While Phantom Stranger was aware of the Earth-Two Batman, was he also aware of his own cosmic twin of that world? If so, undoubtedly a feeling of shame swept over him at the path this twin took… which perhaps motivated Stranger’s actions in this instance, guiding his Bruce Wayne into shaping the life of Wayne's younger twin a universe away… in a way that Lando has not been exposed to in the past.

Lando had a series of appearances from 1941 to 1942 concurrent with the World's Finest heroes Superman and Batman. His so-called heroic tales saw him influenced more by fascist doctrines and white supremacy. When finally returning to the United States from his adventures abroad, Lando adopted the alter ego of Krishna Das, pretending to predict the future for his own greedy goals. Doctor Fate had initially been bested by this turbaned tyrant, but turned the tables on his foe in March of 1943 (More Fun Comics #89).

However, Das escaped using his abilities, and in May of 1943 adopted another alias...as Mister Fortune! Lando's true allegiance was finally revealed as a Nazi collaborator seeking to undermine trust in democracy. In this role, Lando once more ran afoul of Doctor Fate during a case involving the Justice Society (All-Star Comics #16). Lando/Krishna/Fortune would nevermore return to menace mankind.

These confrontations with his arch-enemy reflected those between the Fate’s evil doppelgänger Felix Faust, the Earth-One version of Doctor Fate, and the Phantom Stranger. But with their roles reversed those of their doppelgängers, as to good and evil. Stranger and Faust first fought when Stranger was made an honorary member of the Justice League during a case (Justice League of Ameria #103). Later, the two opposing forces came to blows (Blue Devil Annual #1).

Other stellar themed criminal charlatans were Doctor Zodiac aka Cash Carrigan and his cosmic twin Aba Raja. Zodiac quarreled with the Caped Crusaders and their pal Superman of Earth-One on more than one occasion, while Raja had the same modus operandi when he confronted Superman and Lois Lane of Earth-Two.

Doctor Zodiac returned later to battle the World's Finest Team, almost defeating Superman and Batman, His Earth-Two doppelgänger Aba Raja apparently did not... using fraudulent aliases to conceal his later crooked capers, as had Lando.

A couple years prior to his conflict with Superman, a man resembling Raja named “Meera Kell” partnered with the Joker in a scheme to trick greedy investors into buying a fake time machine. When the gullible men discovered they weren’t being sent to either the future nor the past but rather an elaborate movie set. The businessmen repented while Batman and Robin captured Meera and the Joker, although if this "Kell" is one and the same man with Raja, this was the genesis of Abu’s later path towards infamy.

Fascinating Factoids from Earth-Two aka Earth-2

As Thom Kallor aka Star Boy revealed to the assembled heroes of two worlds, the Earth-2 created after the Infinite Crisis was in fact the reconstituted Earth-Two made in its image. As such, life carried on there several years after the original Crisis on Infinite Earths had concluded. Within the Batcave, while interrogating an alternate Power Girl, her counterpart asked if she was a traitor like Judomaster, or a plant of Lex Luthor, or a member of the Crime Society.

These interesting elements of Earth-2 reveal that Sonia Sato existed on that world, assuming the alter ego of Judomaster while gaining the trust... and possible membership... of the Justice Society of America.

On the composite Earth spawned after the first Crisis, Lex Luthor had the foresight to create a clone to house his  malevolent mind... and no doubt Alexie Luthor of Earth-2 would have hatched a similar escape plan should he face his own mortality, which he eventually did aboad Brainiac's spaceship. Hence this second incarnation, known by the abbreviated "Lex" carried on his crusade against his former foe's allies (and this would be the adult counterpart of the son of Earth-Three's Alex Luthor, who migrated to Earth-One after the Crisis).

One wonders who such "plants" were within the Justice Society, perhaps some of the second generation heroes such as had appeared on the post-Crisis Earth's Society? Meanwhile Power Girl flew into space for years seeking a Superman in a limbo pocket realm's replica of his world's Metropolis... alongside his wife Lois, Earth-Prime's Superboy and Earth-Three's Alex Luthor. A realm attached to but inaccessible from Earth-2, whose presence is blocked and/or misdirected by Earth-2's Spectre, who returned after the Crisis.

As for the Crime Society, they were a variation of Earth-Three's Crime Syndicate only they mimic the Justice Society just as the Syndicate replicated the Justice League.... certainly not a far-fetched possibility of such a team existing within the Multiverse of infinite variations of Earth. Apparently, the JSA had occasion to clash with their Crime counterparts, apparently without their League allies joining them on that adventure. In fact, this was probably during the occasion when the Cary Bates of Earth-Prime ended up on Earth-Two and most of the Justice Society were "off Earth", as Bates would have shunted them to the Crime Society's world rather than face the entire assemblage of the JSA.

Star Boy Explains the Multiverse: In One Panel!

Note that the Starman (Thom Kallor) of the revitalized composite Earth formed after the Infinite Crisis states that the original Earth-Two (Earth-2) had thus been reconstituted into the form of the Justice Society Infinty that his Justice Society of America met in the present day, hence the method by which this world (and by extension parallel planets in the Multiverse) could continue to have futures divergent from the composite Earth as seen prior the Crisis on Infinite Earths. In essence, the sole survivor of Earth-Three's universe, Alexander Luthor, implemented the means by which the Multiverse was  replicated in a fashion that mirrored the original Multiverse, hence the impeccably identical members of the JSI to those of the JSA and Infinity, Inc. that originally existed. These were the individuals whom Power Girl met upon venturing to their reality from her own adopted realm, carrying on the lives left behind by these Socialites prior to the dessolution of their separate dimensional plane.

The implication of this modern-day matchup between twin Societies is profound, as it leaves the door open to other universe likewise residing, as they had prior to the incursion of the Anti-Monitor's malevolent machinations. Included in this was Earth-Four - home to Captain Atom and his allies on the Sentinels of Justice, Earth-S - home to Captain Marvel's family and friends, and Earth-X - home to expatriates of Earth-Two that composed the Freedom Fighters.  As for Earth-One's reality, this too would need to continue to coexist somewhere amidst the cosmos as the 30th Century Legion of Super-Heroes, of whom Kallor was a member as Star Boy, would, have existed separate of the composite reality composed from the various Crisises. Having been severed from the rest due to its having been the template of all other universes, Earth-One and its reality would have to be rediscovered another time, by a different band of costumed crusaders curiously curtailing creation.

Proof that the Multiverse Still Exists: Earth-Two!

In the new reality that resulted from the Crisis on Infinite Earths, Power Girl was displaced from her native reality of Earth-Two. Becoming an anomaly on the post-Crisis merged Earth, Kara Zor-L for a time believed she was the granddaughter of the ancient Atlantean superhero known as Arion. When, in fact, this deception was revealed... she regained her interest in seeking out her home universe and the world on which she first carved out the legend that was her caped alter ego.

She was able to to locate Earth-Two once more after the machinations of Earth-Three's Alex Luthor and Earth-Prime's Superboy unleashed yet another Crisis upon the Multiverse. When she regained contact with her old allies, now members of the Justice Society of Infinity, she soon learned that she was a temporal clone spawned from the Crisis event, with the original version of Power Girl having roamed through that universe seeking out the location of their cousin Superman and his wife Lois, who had been in a pocket dimension with Luthor and Superboy for years.

Once she knew she had no place in this realm, which had moved on without her, since the Society members Doctor Fate and Spectre had shielded off this reality from the rest of the Multiverse in order to preserve its integrity, this Power Girl returned to the post-Crisis world that was now her home and accepted that this is where she was supposed to be.

Another lost voyager of the parallel realities was Red Tornado, and the being that merged with him in the Tornado Champion. At once point, it was his unique nature as a creature of twin universes that inspired the evil Creator2 to use this android as a bridge between realities, merging Earths One and Two together in order to clear a path for an intergalactic space-lane he was hired to procure by an alien race. Thankfully, the same Doctor Fate and Spectre were able to turn Creator2's technology against him, freeing the Red Tornado and saving both worlds. Perhaps this incident was the genesis of their idea to segment Earth-Two's dimensional plane from the other realities years later.
