The Justice League and Justice Society dealt with many many a crisis throughout their joint history together, traveling to various worlds in several dimensions. None, though, was more strange than New Genesis and Asgard, the floating cities elsewhere and elsewhen. Held seperate in other planes of existence removed from the universes containing the respective worlds, these strange lands nevertheless pulled mankind's greatest champions to their realms during their hours of greatest need. Although having its own protectors, the threats that mounted overwhelmed them.
While the realm of New Genesis, attached to Earth-One's universe and under attack by their rival Apokolips, solicited the help of both the League and Society... it was a Justice Society alone though in a greater number that rendered aid to the Asgard linked with Earth-Two's universe. With the worlds' greatest heroes of both Earths joining forces, they brought about the defeat of Darkseid and Surtur along with their legions. However, whereas the Apokolips conflict occurred only once, the Asgard conflict perpetually repeated for all eternity!
As a result, Earth-Two was persevered as its existence had been threatened due to the near intervention of Darkseid and Hitlers' malevolent machinations. And the Multiverse breathed a sigh of relief, at least until the Crisis on Infinite Earths brought about a new conflict from the Anti-Matter Universe, with its incursions into both realities as well as an infinite number of parallel universes throughout the Multiverse. On that occasion, a revitalized Darkseid proved a deciding factor in bringing about the defeat of the Anti-Monitor who instigated the Crisis, while that same Crisis was the genesis for the reality which brought a new Earth's Justice Society into the Asgardian war.
This Justice Society of America was from the post-Crisis Earth-0, sent there to save all reality from the onslaught unleashed in the notional dimensional Asgard. Meanwhile, the JSA of Earth-Two itself dealt with the consequences of this battle on their native world in Axis controlled Germany simultaneously in 1945. The JSA of Earth-0 took the place of the Freedom Fighters who left Earth-Two three years before for Earth-X, with fifteen Earth-0 heroes substituting for the fifteen former members of the All-Star Squadron.
