Both Supermen had an extensive list of enemies that plagued their existence, but two were especially gifted in so far as they seemed to be two steps in front of the Man of Tomorrow. Well, sort of, but that still didn't help either of them in their pursuits...for misguided good and insidious evil...
Edmond Hamilton was a NASA scientist who gained the gift, through an electrical discharge he was the victim of, to foresee future events. Two such events caused him to create a flight suit, jump pack and some temporal devices. Due to his thefts of equipment necessary in averting a disaster, he ended up dueling with Earth-One's Superman. Elsewhen and elsewhere, an Edmond Future used his own genius gift of predicting technology to start up a criminal gang, the CF Mob or Gang (an Earth-Two equivalent of Intergang), and he too faced Superman on multiple occasions.
When neither tragic event actually occurred, at least not as the modern Hamilton had interpreted it, he evidently decided to pack up his equipment and retire rather than cause further trouble. Such wasn't the case for Future's older twin, who employed the Wizard to banish Superman from Earth-Two and continued his criminal empire. Despite this, his foe returned to plague him on at least three more occasions (with the implication of a long running emnity between hero and villain)! Yet each time, Superman was assisted by a woman in his defeat, Lois Lane, then Lois' mother visiting the Daily Star, and finally Liandly from the planet Rolez (see picture right) who had a brief career as "Supergirl". The criminal Colonel never lived up to his aspirations to match the criminal pedigree of geniuses like Luther, Ultra-Humanite, or Brain Wave. But it wasn't for a lack of trying.
*It should be noted that the Earth-Two Colonel Future's career as Superman's second most recurring rogue mimics that of Earth-One's Brainiac, who's counterpart Mekanique on Earth-Two only faced her Man of Steel a couple of times alongside his All-Star Squadron allies.
