Wonder Woman peered into a golden age comic chronicling the tales of her Earth-Two counterpart, and one particular issue at the "Dream Merchant" comic shop drew her attention... the "Brain Pirates of the Inner-Moon World". In that tale, Diana's friend Professor Astronimo discovered just such a world only it had sinister aliens inhabiting it, led by King Lunar, with plans to invade Earth. The women there didn't like it, nor did the Princess who defeated the lot.
Back on Earth-One, the Brain-Pirate and his minions come not from the moon but from dimension DM-X, with the intent of stealing the brains of Diana's friends Steve Trevor and Etta Candy. Only after beating the rogue did the Amazing Amazon arrive back in the comic shop. And the merchant behind the counter may have a connection with a master of the mind whom Wonder Woman would later encounter, Doctor Moon!
It was Professor Astronimo of Earth-Two whom King Lunar cranially controlled, leading to the conflict with Wonder Woman. The Professor's Earth-One counterpart was the nefarious neurosurgeon known as Doctor Moon*, under the employ of Doctor Cyber. Moon would assist Cyber repeatedly throughout the years while being opposed to Wonder Woman. While the Doctor could manipulate minds, the Professor’s mind was manipulated. Conversely, Moon relied on his mistress Cyber’s knowledge of engineering and rocketry which Astronimo himself possessed.
* Doctor Moon was also referred to by Doctor Cyber as ”Professor Cyber” during the second of their three partnerships versus Wonder Woman.
