Wonder Woman peered into a golden age comic chronicling the tales of her Earth-Two counterpart, and one particular issue at the "Dream Merchant" comic shop drew her attention... the "Brain Pirates of the Inner-Moon World". In that tale, Diana's friend Professor Astronimo discovered just such a world only it had sinister aliens inhabiting it, led by King Lunar, with plans to invade Earth. The women there didn't like it, nor did the Princess who defeated the lot.
Back on Earth-One, the Brain-Pirate and his minions come not from the moon but from dimension DM-X, with the intent of stealing the brains of Diana's friends Steve Trevor and Etta Candy. Only after beating the rogue did the Amazing Amazon arrive back in the comic shop. As for Astronimo's counterpart, he kept his eye towards the stars rather than the moon!
Professor Astronimo was an instructor at Holliday College, and helped design experimental spacecraft which not controlled by King Lunar. The Professor's Earth-One counterpart was Conrad Starfield was the astronaut trainer for the Houston based Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center. He was tasked with training aspiring trainee which for a brief period included Wonder Woman's alter ego of Diana Prince, along with future supervillains Stacy "Lady Lunar" Maclin and Mike "Ten of Spades" Bailey.
