Gym Allon and Keith Everet were a pair of powerhouses who could grow to enormous size. As "Colossal Boy", Gym was a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes in Earth-One's 30th century, while Keith was allied with the 20th century's All-Star Squadron on Earth-Two. However, on occasion Allon journeyed to the World War II era during a Weird War Tale during the same time period that Keith operated on his world, while Everet made his presence known in a far future era that Gym made his home with his teammates.
Both could grow their bodies proportionally to become giants among their peers, granting them tremendous strength. Also, Everet had the power of flight while Allon had a flight ring allowing him to also glide through the air. But the similarities did not end their, as each fell in love with women who were more than they seemed. Each man was in protective services, with Gym a member of the Science Police of his era and Keith a member of Federal Bureau of Investigation in his time period. Deborah Wallace and her beau Charles Collins who aided Keith in his tales were their world's version of Marie Leeds and her fiancee Terrance Thirteen in their investigations around the world.
And each loved blue body suits with red vests and swashbuckler style boots. Showing that some styles are timeless, as is heroism. In fact, while Gym was a denizen of the 30th century, he traveled back to the 20th century more than once, including a time over a thousand years before his birth to aid an ancestor on a battlefield in Europe during World War II. Similarly, over a thousand years from World War II, a teacher was contacted by Keith who left him a note in response to his review of one of Everet's exploits during that conflict.
Interestingly, early in Everet's crusading career, he was briefly considered to be a potential member of the Justice Society of America, alongside their secretary Wonder Woman. However, he as well as Little Boy Blue and the Black Pirate were beaten out of contention for a spot on the team by Wildcat and Mister Terrific, themselves honorary members in the 1940's before becoming fulltime members in the 1960's and beyond. While it is conceivable that Keith would have fit in, as would Little Boy Blue who could pal around with a fellow youngster in the Atom, its hard to imagine Black Pirate doing so as he lived centuries before (although he did journey to 1942 during Crisis on Infinite Earths for a brief tale).
While both appeared as phantoms during the forays into each other's time on parallel worlds, they were both real flesh and blood men. However, for that lengthy period between the 20th century and hundreds of years in the future, they carried on the heroic tradition.
