Five Fiends Week: Mammoth Menaces

Before becoming a member of the League of Challenger-Haters, Volcano Man was originally a mysterious gigantic entity composed of super-heated lava from the center of Earth-One. When Dr. Edward Gruner attempted to create an army of synthetic Volcano Men, which faced the Challengers of the Unknown, and then were themselves eliminated by the original Volcano Man. This being would time and again face the Challengers and later the Doom Patrol, eventually allying with his fellow Haters including a fellow synthetic creature in Multi-Woman and finally kept within their Challenger Mountain.

While not a member of Hand's Five Fingers, Nebula Man was a fellow foe of Law’s Legionnaires. The origin of this being is unknown, except that it had tremendous strength and destructive powers that could only be with a Nebula Rod harnessing nebuloid energy. The young sidekick of Legionnaire Crimson Avenger, Wing, used the rod on the creature to destroy it. 

Decades later, Iron Hand would call upon a larger Nebula bring in the form of a gigantic hand that encircled Earth-Two, almost destroying it. Thankfully, the Legionnaires along with the Justice Society and Justice League destroyed it with a similar Nebula Rod, which Red Tornado implanted within the hand’s core.
