This entry is a bit unorthodox in the sense that, while it is a twice told tale, it has some paradoxical elements that do not neatly fit in either Earth-One nor Earth-Two. So while these are golden and silver age Superman tales that are near parallel accounts, they may be a different pair of steel.
In each tale, there is a criminal who utilized advanced technology to circumvent Superman's ever watchful presence. But where did they get these fantastic device from?
While on one world Paul Pratt used a gadget to teleport him from the scene of a crime in Metropolis to a plausible alibi in California, Rocky and Buttons used the same device to do essentially the same thing after committing heinous crimes in their native city.
As it turns out, Professor Amos Dunn in the 1960's and Professor William Enders in the 1950's had each carried a secret throughout Superman's life. And the secret was tied to the gimmick used by these goons.
Professor Amos Dunn had achieved contact with an alien species, i.e. Jor-El, who provided Dunn with the knowledge to construct a radio matter-transference machine. Teleporting to Krypton, Dunn immediately felt the crushing weight of the planet yet endured in order to explain to Jor-El what kind of planet Earth was like. After leaving from his home world, Dunn learned that radiation in Krypton's atmosphere towards the end prevented further teleportation, and incredible oversight on the part of Jor-El. Nowhere was it mentioned that this scientist in Earth-One's silver age ever had the technology to teleport through the cosmos. Additionally, other tales contradict this one in that Jor-El learned about Earth's culture on his own not through an intermediary.
Professor William Enders himself stumbled upon the means to teleport through his very own radio matter-transference machine. In this tale, Jor-(e)l admits that Kryptonians have inherent super-powers even on their own planet, which is a feature of Earth-Two rather than Earth-One. However, upon his return when Enders learns that his device has now malfunctioned... stranding his alien friend's family.. he ends up encountering a Superboy years later. Earth-Two's Superman wasn't a Superboy. Hence this tale like Dunn's doesn't truly fit in either universe.
Nevertheless, the parallels between these two stories seem to indicate that they were two branches of the same core tale. Oh, and the villains in the stories were eventually caught and never heard from forevermore until now.
