Female Facsimile Fest: The Hawkwomen

We couldn't launch into our Female Facsimile Fest without the original upon which the template was made... Hawkgirl, of course!

Introduced shortly after Hawkman's golden age debut, in her costumed alias that is (since she was romantically tied to him since his first tale), and reappearing in a new form as his partner from day one in the silver age.

Shayera Thal Hol and Shiera Sanders Hall were world's apart, and not such parallel worlds. Shayera was a native of Thanagar of the Polaris star system who came to Earth-One along with her husband Carter as law enforcement officials studying that world's police techniques. Adopting the civilian identity of Shiera Hall, she assisted her husband at Midway City museum while using the heroic alias of Hawkgirl. Gaining knowledge of Earth via a device known as the Absorbascon, she was able to assimilate into her new planet's culture and eventually joined the Justice League of America. Later she upgraded her alias as the Hawkwoman.

Sheila Sanders was a rich debutante who fell in love with fellow millionaire Carter Hall, both gained knowledge of ancient Egyptian culture on Earth-Two through a crystal dagger tied to Thanagar. Gaining knowledge and, through that, a thirst for adventure, she soon donned the costume of Hawkwoman. Shortly thereafter she renamed herself Hawkgirl, and joined the All-Star Squadron alongside her husband. The pair had a son named Hector who would honor their legacy as the Silver Scarab, and a godson named Norda who would become winged warrior Northwind.

On both worlds, these ladies fought for the attention of their boyfriends from female rivals Mavis Trent and Ione Craig, and fought to be treated equal to husbands among the superhero community. In the end, proved that they deserved equal billing with, and the undying affection of, their hawk hubbies.
