While Gotham City was the home of Batman and Robin, it quickly became evident that their legends grew beyond the borders of their home stomping grounds. Hence, other areas around the world would also be inspired to create their own Dark Knights to duplicate their success.
Among the first was Chief Man-of-Bats on Earth-One with his sidekick Little Raven, and Bat-Hombre on Earth-Two created to battle El Papagayo. While the Chief is a self-made superhero, wearing a copy of his idol's costume disguising the fact that he's really Great Eagle, the Bat-Hombre was a product of Batman's being enlisted by President Camaran to create a self-replica in his nation of of Mantegua.
Herein lies a point of departure between these two heirs to the Bat-cowl: While Man-of-Bats is sincere in his desired to protect his native American tribe, Bat-Hombre has ulterior motives as a plant for the criminal El Papagayo. Regardless, in both cases the original Dynamic Duo step in and clean up the mess created by the local riff-raff, and nevermore do we hear of these one-shot wonders.
