Lori Lemaris was the middle "double L" in the silver age Superman's life. After his romance with Lana Lang during his Superboy career and prior to finding his true love in Lois Lane, Clark Kent the college student first met the mysterious Lori. Wheelchair bound, Clark saw something that captivated him. When he stumbled upon her secret he realized that she was actually a mermaid from the Atlantis city of Tritonis, and they knew they could not be together indefinitely. Years later, Superman reignited his romance with Lori ended when she fell for Ronal, a merman who treated her paralysis during a particular adventure. Shortly thereafter, Lori and Ronal married, both remaining good friends with Superman.
And while Earth-One's Man of Tomorrow had that situation to face, his counterpart of Earth-Two had quite a different one. Journeying to the Atlantis city of Venturia, Earth-Two's Clark Kent and Lois Lane encountered Queen Octavia Paralea, who quickly became enamored with Kent. However, this romance was doomed to failure even sooner than had the one between Clark and Lori.
She has previously encountered and fought alongside Wonder Woman a few years earlier. When Superman appeared to repel attempts at hijacking control of the city-state by court official Hajar, it was as Clark whom the Queen fell in love with! Clark actually accepts Paralea's wedding proposal, though did this to draw out Hajar and other co-conspirators to the throne. Superman defeated these usurpers. This encounter resulted in the Queen recognizing dangers of royalty are to much for her "gentle" Clark, who fell into the reluctant arms of Lois.
Returning to Earth-One, Lori's little sister Lenora found her affections for merboy Jerro not returned, as he was more interested in Superman's cousin Supergirl. When that courtship ended, perhaps Jerro and Lenora ended up together?
And on Earth-Two, prior to meeting Paralea, Superman encountered a princess from a different realm of Atlanta, the mermaid Kuella. She sought help from the surface world to prevent the invasion of the evil Akhtar from her undersea city. While Superman defeated Akhtar and his forces, the evil warlord detonated the Atlantis outpost which also claimed the life of Kuella.
It seems that these marine maidens didn't have much if any contact with the Kings of the Sea, the Aquamen, of either Earth.
