The golden age is literally littered with kid sidekicks, the first of which was Robin the Boy Wonder. Dick Grayson learned to become the ultimate partner under the tutelage of the Dark Knight Detective, Batman, and decades later would assume his position... if not his mantle,.. as Earth-Two's protector of Gotham. Something Pinky would aspire to do when he reached adulthood.On the parallel Gotham City of Earth-S, around the same period of time another orphan like Dick found himself capturing the attention of a caped crusader. Only this lad, Pinky, was actually adopted by his senior partner, Brian Butler aka Mister Scarlet.Then, it was only natural for a lad with a nickname of "Pinky" continuing to use that alias, under the moniker of Pinky the Whiz Kid. And so began another enduring, albeit less famous, Dynamic Duo.
What common threads link these kid crusaders? Several such as:
- Similar sense of style in clothing and color scheme, with red and yellow predominant.
- Utility belts that came equipped with items similar to Batman and Mister Scarlet
- Each worked in law firms, Dick as an attorney while Pinky as a legal assistant
- Both battling boys inspired girls to assist them, Bette (Batgirl) Kane and Abigail
- They both joined heroic teams, the Justice Society and Squadron of Justice.
- Villains' schemes, that is Karkull and Sivana, kept both perserved young for decades
