- Time travel was a grand pursuit of individuals on both Earths One and Two, and on these worlds two fantastic foursomes fearlessly faced fearsome futures. On Earth-One, Ripley "Rip" Hunter devised a time sphere along with his colleagues Jeffrey Smith, Bonnie Baxter and her brother Corky. Decades earlier on Earth-Two, Doctor Alvin Swanley worked alongside confederates Professor Everson, Professor Zee and Doctor Doome. Although Hunter the "Time Master" and his friends journeyed backwards and forwards in time, experiencing several adventures in the process, the Time Trust actually enlisted the aid of the Justice Society of America on several occasions to time travel in their behalf. Consider some of these famous explorers of time and space:
Professor Zee had aided Earth-Two's Atom and the Society, so had his counterpart Professor Alpheus Hyatt aided Earth-One's Atom and the League.
Professor Damon Everson assisted the Justice Society on occasion, while his doppleganger was Professor Jaxon Rugarth nearly destroyed his native 30th century when he transformed into the Infinite Man, before the Legion of Super-Heroes defeated him.
Doctor Wilfred Doome battled Law's Legionnaires after his encounter with the Justice Society, while his twin Doctor Anomaly had a single confrontation with the Justice League.
Rip Hunter of Earth-One had a counterpart in Brainiac Five, a similar time traveling genius although this Brainiac forsook the evil tendencies of either his counterpart or his original "ancestor" in the android Brainiac. Working for a Time Institute in the 30th Century, this lad also known as Querl Dox inventor a time bubble much like Zee and Degaton's device.
Then there was Alvin Swanley who was joined by his niece Helen and her reporter boyfriend Ted Weldon, which would witness Doctor Swanley's greatest creation, his time chute. Alas, soon thereafter Alvin's perished at the hands of his jealous former friend, Eric Pomar. Ted and Helen decided to pursue their own private lives after Ted was cleared of the murder charges against him thanks to the intervention (and time travel) of the Justice Society. As for Swanley's colleague Zee, he encountered his own doom at the hands of former lab assistant Degaton, who attempted to steal the Professor's own time machine but lost it when the dying Zee sent it into the future. With the other members of the noble Time Trust,Zee and Everson, also deceased...only Doome remained from the original quartet. As to the counterparts of Alvin, his niece and boyfriend, as well as his rival Pomar... this would be Rip, fellow inventor Jeffrey and the Baxters. all relegated to background roles in the chronicles. Like the Time Trust of Earth-Two, Rip Hunter's team on Earth-One had several legendary adventures... albeit in the former case it was when they sent the Justice Society through time, while in the latter it was Rip's gang who did the temporal adventuring.
