And so, after having inserted themselves within their hated foes' secret lairs, utilizing their own friends and family versus against the Caped Crusaders, possessing various devices they can readily employ to remove their enemies once and for all... would the Hugo Strange of Earths One and Two finally defeat the Batmen of their own worlds... once and for all? For Hugo-One, it was within a replica of Wayne Manor and the Batcave that Batman and Robin were lured to, with the malevolent mastermind activating explosives within the structure to eliminate the Dynamic Duo. To bad Hugo-One eyesight was so bad that he failed to see the Duo flee the scene, leaving Strange alone within the explosion, seemingly ridding the world of the criminal forever. As for Hugo-Two, Robin and Batwoman allowed Batman to face this deformed deviant, and showed how to defeat him. No not by strength, as Hugo-Two held his own, and with his possessing Starman's Cosmic Rod the crooked professor could control any of the devices within the Batcave. However. it was Batman's analytical ability which diagnosis that this Strange, unlike his counterpart, didn't want vengeance but rather validation. Hugo-One wanted his enemy eradicated, Hugo-Two wanted his opponents understanding. Realizing that Hugo-Two wanted to end his suffering, the villain used the Rod against himself and had done as his doppleganger had also done, removing Strange from the world he had tormented so often throughout the decades.
