Although the preeminent Winged Warriors of their respective parallel planets were Hawkman and Hawkgirl, there were others who defended their corners of the world. On Earth-One, this individual was named Wingo although as a youth he was also known as Bird-Boy and as an adult as Bird-Man. Although he stood out among his people of Cloudland as a hero, his motives were mostly to impress Princess Diana of Paradise Island, first as the younger Wonder Girl then later as Wonder Woman. Possessing his natural wings allowing him to effortlessly fly through the air, Wingo seemed to be the perfect peer to the Amazing Amazon. Alas for the Cloudlandian, Diana only had eyes for Colonel Steve Trevor and after several fruitless attempts at capturing the object of his affection's heart, Wingo returned to the seclusion of his people's realm. And indeed, Wingo had given it a sincere try, considering he had been friends with Wonder Woman since they were both children, as we shall soon see.
While the Cloudland of Earth-One had residents that appeared like Wingo, on Earth-Two there was a radically different Cloudland inhabited by King Blotto and his midget minions that harvested stardust that saturated their realm. When their livelihood was endangered by human aircraft that scraped against their realm, the midget inhabitants there captured various planes under Wonder Woman intervened and caused Cloudland to be swept into the super-stratosphere where they would be kept out of reach of the surface dwellers and visa versa, nevermore seen.
On Earth-Two, Bird-Boy found a doppleganger in younger Wonder Woman's ally Princess Elva who lived in the Kingdom of Winged Limestone Girls. When she and her people were threatened by the radium giants, Elva and Diana quickly became fast friends in dealing with this threat. Any future tales that the young Amazon princess had alongside Elva similar to those her counterpart had with Wingo are heretofore not chronicled. However, her people bare remarkable resemblance to those in Eveland, who originated on the hyper-space planet of Venus that was ruled by Queen Desira. These women, led by Desira's daughter Eve, once had wings but by the time Wonder Woman had met them they had lost this ability and were now normal women living in the south pole retreat.
