Travis Morgan was an elite Air Force pilot, who on a mission for the United States entered into a portal within the crust of Earth-One into the world of Skartaris. This "world within a world" led him to various adventures wherein he faced his the evil Deimos and fell in love with Tara, Queen of Shamballah. Becoming known as the Warlord, Morgan along with his friends stumbled onto a another portal, this one leading him to an ancient age parallel to that which his counterpart lived in a universe away.
Brian Kent was the son of Sir Edwin Kent, who was a legendary hero in the 6th Century of Earth-Two, until Edwin was slain in battle versus his arch-foe the bearded warlord known as Sir Oswald Bane. As a young man, Brian under the tutelage of his mentor Sir Grot stumbled upon a special armor in the forest. Donning it, he adopted the masked alter ego of the Silent Knight. Over time, his courtship with Lady Celia Penbrook grew until she became a partner in his fight to do right, as had Travis’ female colleague Mariah Romanovs when they traveled to the same ancient era in Skartaris.
After a series of defeats at the hand of Kent the Knight, Sir Oswald stole an immortality serum from Camelot and became the rogue Dark Knight, also known by the label of Sir Traytor for his betrayal of trust in his former King's court. In the era he would face a time displaced Superman and, centuries later in our modern era, his fellow Arthurian in Sir Justin the Shining Knight.
Around that same time periods in the 20th century, Silent Knight himself was pulled into era during the Crisis on Infinite Earths. On this occasion, Brian teamed up with that age's largest assemblage of heroes in the All-Star Squadron. Back in his native era, he had such foes such as artificially powered and adaptable Thando who mirrored Deimos as using illusions to trick others.
A counterpart to Traytor was Terra-Man aka Toby Manning, a young orphaned outlaw from the 18th century raised in space and given life sustaining and extending devices along with advanced weaponry. Manning would battle his world's Superman multiple times, once he arrived back on his native Earth-One... at the same time that Travis Morgan left there for Skartaris. He as the Warlord would...
like Brian Kent... be extracted from his adopted world, to accompany fellow heroes on board a satellite aborting his home world Earth-One during that same Crisis.
