Klaus Kristen was the hybrid child of a human mother and a Yeti father, who sought wealth that would allow him to live comfortably in colder areas around the world. Masquerading as a world class snowman and jet-setting playboy, Klaus used his prestige as Klaus and his powers as Snowman to victimize those who would enrich his lifestyle. To that end, the ice emitting villain found his pathway to plunder ultimately blocked by the Batman of Earth-One. After an initial battle in which the Dark Knight believed his Abominable adversary had fallen to his death, off a cliff in Switzerland, in fact Kristen had survived and reunited with his Yeti father. The two Snowmen battled Batman together, yet despite their superior number and mastery of frozen ice projection, they met bitter defeat once more versus Batman.
Pratt Palmer was a greedy scientist who sought acclaim and riches from his invention of cold light. To that end, he adopted the alter ego of the Hood, pretending he was kidnapped so his garbed alter ego could commit crimes while his civilian identity recieved praise. However, the Hawkman of Earth-Two discovered his deception and captured Palmer. Shortly thereafter, he was released from custody and proceeded to join a brain trust that developed a fake flying saucer in the shape of an eye, and an android impersonating an alien bent on conquering the world. The brain trust's goal was to bring peace to the globe, but Palmer and fellow foe of the Hawkman... Anton Hastor, who no doubt recruited Pratt, had other ideas for this device. Their hope of world conquest was stymied once more by Hawkman and Hawkgirl.
Other frozen felons would gain more notoriety, be it Mister Freeze and Mister Zero, Captain Cold and Icicle, Minister Blizzard and Prime Minister Blizzard. But none showed quite the cold shoulder to friend and foe alike as had Klaus Kristin and Palmer Pratt.
