Fan clubs of famous celebrities are commons, wherein a group of youngsters regale in the exploits in tales of their favorite hero or heroine. Two of the most prominent ones on the parallel planets of Earths One and Two were the Jimmy Olsen Fan Club and Mister Terrific's Fair Play Club. While these teens were undoubtedly also fans of the Justice League of Earth-One and of the Daily Star's Jimmy Olsen of Earth-Two, each on their respective worlds, they weren't as organized as these gregarious groups highlighted today.
The Jimmy Olsen Fan Club of Earth-One modeled themselves after the legendary cub reporter for the Daily Planet. They would listen to their mentor as he presided over their meetings, sharing memorable experiences with them. On occasion, these teens assisted Jimmy in some of his adventures. They were primarily based out of Metropolis, where there headquarters was located.
The Fair Play Club was a group of young adventurers in Gateway City, originally called the Purple Dagger Gang. After an encounter with the new masked marauder known as Mr. Terrific, whom they themselves named, their new mentor rechristened this group of teens the Fair Play Club. Inspired by Mr. Terrific's moto, as a Defender of Fair Play, these young lads joined him in his early adventures.
Eventually, the core members joined the Junior Justice Society, just as their mentor joined the adult Justice Society. There they merged with another teen team known as the Minute-Men of America. Together, these youths assisted the greatest superhero team of Earth-Two in some of their adventures., Notable members of the Fair Play Club/Junior JSA included Bill Townsley, Billy Peters, and Lefty. They helped the combat racist propaganda originating from Nazi Germany. They then helped bring about the defeat of the Injustice Society and their rival kid gang the Crimson Claws.
