Cabbies with a Conscience: Space Cabbie and Hack O'Hara

Without a doubt, the most famous cabbie in the DC Multiverse is the legendary Doiby Dickles, the right hand man of Alan Scott... and of his alter ego the Green Lantern of Earth-Two. In fact, tales of his in the newspaper or... on Earth-One... in comic books, may have inspired two others in their unofficial careers as crusadering cab-drivers.

Space Cabbie was an orphan of human origin who was raised by military rulers, leading to a career as a professional soldier. After leaving that life behind, he used the skills he acquired as an expert pilot and navigator to pilot his Space Cab #7433. While known for getting his fares where they needed to go, Space Cabbie also used his quick wits to help his passengers solve their problems. Eventually, he made the acquaintence of a time lost Superman and his pals the Forgotten Heroes of Earth-One. Following an adventure versus the Forgotten Villains, these Heroes along with Space Cabbie returned to the 20th century.

And early in the 20th century, on the parallel world of Earth-Two, there was Hack O'Hara. Himself a notable cab driver in New York City, often he ended up carrying more than just his passengers to their destinations. He also carried their problems, which were left to him to solve. Often, he would do this with a fist and a self-assuredness that made crooks he met shake in their boots! Undoubtedly he met some of his "Crack Comics "colleagues like Black Condor, the Spider and Captain Triumph.
