The Darklights of Earth-One were, like Night and Fog of Earth-Two, sinister siblings sent into battle versus several superheroes, although their agenda was much more insidious. Silver Fog of Earth-One like his counterpart Fog could overwhelm others with his most-like form, while Dark and another fellow brunette Nazi agent present would, like the Darkling sisters of Earth-One both cloud and blind those they were sent to attack.
Fog and Night were a brother and sister team, he with the ability to create a dense fog and she capable of projecting deep darkness. Sent by their Nazi overlords to either pursuade steel magnate Ed Reilly towards to German cause or to assassinate him, they ended up encountering Reilly's daughter Firebrand and her fellow All-Stars Hourman, Phantom Lady and Tarantula. Once they ensured Reilly's death following his deviance at theiur demands, the siblings fled the scene given their opponents' powers and their numerical advantage over them.
The Darklights were a pair of identical twin sisters, one with the ability to irradiate blinding light and the other to emit deep darkness. Sent by the criminal Two-Face to preoccupy the Teen Titans with a series of crimes involving twin costumed crooks... the other two pairs being the Flamesplasher twins and the Sizematic twins... each Darklight individually seemed capable of disorienting their adversaries.
However, when brought together, the Darklights as well as their other confederates were tricked into canceling each other out. Luring each set of twins into inadvertently attacking their brother or sister, all six supervillains were defeated. This was but a distraction to keep the Titans from protecting their new member Harlequin, whom Two-Face sought to capture. Obsessed with learning the truth about this woman, who's claimed secret identity of Duela Dent was alleged to be the daughter of Harvey "Two-Face" Dent, he like his henchmen and henchwoman failed in the end.
Whether the Darklights or Night and Fog returned later to resume their grudge matches with the Teen Titans and All-Star Squadron has yet to be documented, as well as the actual procedures which gave them their powers and their deviant dispositions.
On Earth-One, Silver Fog had a less ignoble reason for his criminal career, attempting to find the tools to reverse the process caused by his particle accelerator that transformed him into a human mist. First facing new teen heroes Doomster and the Grasshopper, the temporary aliases of teenagers Christopher King and Victoria Grant, Toth retreated to plan anew, now realizing he would have obstacles in his path to his goals.
Working alongside Night and Fog was another masked maiden present at the Reilly Masquerade Party* known as Black Widow. Perhaps an advanced scout sent to access the room and report back to her fellow Nazis, whether she controlled darkness or light is unknown. Following her confederates’ successful assignation attempt, she follows their lead and left the suite.
Shortly after his second confrontation with these young superheroes from Fairfax, Silver Fog faced the teenage pair, who power dialed into the heroes known as Captain Electron and Windsong. It was Electron whose charged blast helped Silver Fog to control his being. Having found a cure, Toth turned himself over to the authorities to pay for his crimes.
Fog was unaware that the four costumes crusaders he has encountered were granted their alter egos and abilities from twin H-Dials, Chris’ watch and Vicki’s locket. These devices granted those wearing them with superhuman powers for one hour at a time.
