Renowned Rocks Recreates Radical Replicas

Two scientists, Albert Desmond and Zobar Zodiak, sought to unleash the power of the ancient legendary rock known as the Philosopher’s Stone. This synthetic substance could alter the molecular composition of an object from one substance to another. The Stone was sought after by others for centuries, as it could transmute any object into gold. 

On Earth-One, it was first used in modern times by Desmond under his second criminal alias as Doctor Alchemy, which led to a rematch with arch-foe the Flash aka Barry Allen. The two men had a series of clashes, both one-on-one and alongside their diametrically opposed teams, the Justice League and Crime Champions. Eventually, a distant cousin of Alberts named Alvim Desmond took up that identity, along with the Stome.

On Earth-Two, the Philosopher’s Stone was used first by the sinister siren the Lorelei, during her minions’ invasion of Earth-Two originating from their Fairytale world. Aiding in her search of the stone was the master there known as the Slicer, Alvin’s counterpart on that world. Following the dastardly duo’s defeat, the stone soon after came until the possession of Zobar Zodiak aka the Alchemist.
