Sub-Atomic Synthetic Superhumans
Starzl is a sub-atomic world, actually twin worlds, residing within the universes of Earths One and Two. While operating independent within his microverse from that of the Earths' macroverse, on occasion there has been interaction between the two realities. And on each occasion, this involved the golden age and silver age Wonder Women of two Earths!
The Protectors consisted of the androids Terrane, Ocana and Etheran. These three benevolent beings were created to safeguard the peoples of Starzl-One from the land, sea and space, respectively. Terrane was specifically designed to guard the ground, Ocana was built to secure the sea, and Etheran was constructed to safeguard the spaceways. It seems each entity was successful at their assigned mission, for a time, before it became apparent that their very existence was a threat to the humanoids who created them!
Professor Luxo along with his robotic winged horse and Hydrogenian lieutenants flooded Starzl-Two with element X into that world’s atomic sea, converting the natural compound of that world from “A” to “AX”, which would profoundly harm that world while allowing Luxo to control Earth-Two. Tracking him down to this world was the Justice Society’s own Wonder Woman*.
Indeed, the adverse radiation known as the "Ultrazone" which the trio of androids emitted was harmful to the citizens of that world. And so, they forcibly recruited Wonder Woman and her teammates of the Justice League of America, by shrinking the team to a size allowing them to materialize on Starzl-One. As for the Wonder Woman of Earth-Two, she used Amazonian technology on Paradise Island to shrink to the point where she's exist on Starzl-Two.
Thankfully in the end, the Amazing Amazons along with their allies in the Justice League of Earth-One and the Atomite soldiers of Staryx-Two, preserved alive parallel planes in the sub-atomic reality and that of twin Earths! The League accomplished this by deactivating the androids, which had a type of mental hold on the heroes preventing them to successfully defeat them, by enlisting the aid of honorary Leaguer Snapper Carr who was unaffected by the Protector's mental-block. The Earth-Two Wonder Woman likewise overpowered Professor Luxo and his confederates.
* This case occurred on February 1951, shortly after the Justice Society's last published case, after they had disbanded with all active members except Wonder Woman retiring for the next decade. Hence, only Wonder Woman was available to tackle this threat at this time.
