Supermanium is essentially the hardest metal in the known universes of Earths One and Two, derived from a mystery elemental composition. While its rival Amazonium also lays claim to being the most indestructible. What is fascinating is where this mystery metal originated. While it was located within the depths of Earth-Two, it wasn't naturally present on Earth-One!
While the circumstance as to why the younger Superman forged his version from the heart of stars is undocumented, it nevertheless was how useful it was. Among these uses was to build a virtually inescapable prison for the alien android Brainiac. Back on Earth-One, Superman constructed his Supermobile with this Supermanium metal, which he used on occasion when he lost his own superpowers, such as while battling another android known as Amazo. He also built a rocket with this element, containing hazardous materials which he launched into space.
The "Super-Saved Club" whose members were each saved by Superman, under the direction of new recruit James Thorben, funded research into determining the location of theoretical Supermanium. When miners finally discovered it deep within an Earth-Two mining-tunnel, Superman used intense pressure exerted from his strength to manipulated the metal into the new element. The first object created with Supermanium was a gigantic statue of the hero himself. Although Thorben sought to steal this element for his own financial gain, Superman instead shared this discovery with the world!
A similar if not identical element was found on Earth-S by the Supermen's counterpart of that world, Captain Marvel, ably named Marvelium!
