Bronco Bill Starr was originally an ancient centaur known as Biron, who was transformed into Comet the Superhorse and exiled into space for several centuries. When he returned to the world of his birth in the 20th century, he found that Earth-One had changed dramatically since he departed. He quickly formed a friendship with Kara "Supergirl" Zor-El, herself a recent immigrant from Argo City of Krypton. Together, the two formed a bond which became stronger when Biron temporarily regained his lost humanity, wherein he assumed the alter ego of rodeo rider Bronco Bill Starr.
Thomas Hallaway as Spider sought to be a modern day Robin Hood, using his archery skills to plunder the ill-gotten gains of criminals to help support his own lavish lifestyle. Aided by his chauffeur Chuck who drove his specially designed Black Widow which seemed to defy gravity, Spider's primary weapons were specialized flaming arrows and rope lines. He fought a variety of criminals and saboteurs during a two-year period on his home world of Earth-Two (Spider's Earth-Two contemporary archer Roy "Speedy" Harper filled in for the ancient centaur role that Biron himself had in ancient Earth-One, thanks to some time travel).
In the 30th century, Biron as Comet joined the Legion of Super-Pets, and one adventure he resumed his Bill Starr human form. Adopting the heroic alias of Biron the Bowman, he used his mastery of archery during a case where he and his teammates covertly assisted the Legion of Super-Heroes. During this tale, he once more encountered his long lost love, Supergirl who as a member of the human Legion.
As for the Spider, he joined Uncle Sam's Freedom Fighters, migrating to the parallel world of Earth-X to battled the Axis Powers. Hallaway left behind on Earth-Two his best friend and chauffer Chuck, and the vehicle Chuck drove named the Black Widow. As for Hallaway, he presumably lost his life on Earth-X while fighting alongside his teammates.
