Armed Armored Articifial Antagonists

Technology diverged radically on Earths One and Two, with the latter world developing cutting edge techniques decades earlier than the latter. During the early days of World War II, the United States developed advanced robots to fight their battles overseas. 

On Earth-One, these G.I. Robots were labeled Joe and Mac, serving alongside human handlers in the islands of the Pacific Ocean. Joe worked with a soldier named Mac on Dinosaur Island, where American and Japanese forces faced one another and battled the prehistoric reptiles still residing on this island. Followed the apparent destruction of Joe, a second G.I. Robot named Mac had a single adventure with the original Suicide Squad on Dinosaur Island before also being demolished.

The more sophisticated G.I. Robots on Earth-Two consisted of two models known as J.A.K.E. 1 and 2, as well as a robotic dog and cat. These creatures had dozens of adventures, either with their human handlers, and with their fellow Project M creations*, the Creature Commandos during World War II. 

The Commandos** were scientifically augmented soldiers made to appear as monsters, with corresponding abilities capable of both overwhelming opponents physically and psychologically. Eventually, both G.I. Robot and the Creature Commandos were sent in a missile to Berlin in lieu of a court martial for their inhuman actions, as deemed by the military they served. However, the Robot and his allies were errantly sent into space, and have as yet not reappeared.

* Evidence that Project M existed on Earth-Two rather than Earth-One or another alternate reality is found in Chuck Grayson’s involvement in constructing the Project’s G.I. Robot (Chuck was Robert “Robotman” Crane’s colleague), and their creation of Miss America from experimentation on reporter Joan Dale.

** Medusa aka Dr. Myrna Rhodes was a physician treating the Creature Commandos, when some experimental gases transformed her hair into living serpentine like entities. As the Earth-Two counterpart of Lady Viper, she nevertheless was a heroine rather than a femme fatale. As for her fellow Commandos: Sgt. Vincent Velcro's Earth-One twin was Andrew Bennett, Warren Griffith's twin there was Anthony Lupus, Pvt. Elliot Taylor's twin there was Gregori Arcane, and their leader Lt. Matthew Shrieve's twin there was government agent Matthew Cable... who stalked Swamp Thing.
