Mentally Manufactured Musclemen

Peter Barton was a publicity agent for Florida’s Saint Augustine Theatre on Earth-One, who had a romantic attachment with New Athens Experimental School psychology department head Valerie Myles. However, their mutual attraction was kept on hold due to Peter’s suspicions that Val was secretly Supergirl, whom he refused to date. In fact, the real Supergirl aka Linda Danvers had a crush on Peter, and inadvertently during a psychology experiment at the school mentally exerted superhuman abilities onto Barton. As the masked man named Dynamic, Barton attempted to decidedly defeat Supergirl and take her place, thinking this would discourage Val from assuming her alter ego to allow them to date!

Another Peter Barton was a henchman for crime boss Dapper Dan Draper, who was tasked to imitate the newest masked man of Earth-Two’s Keystone City. That vigilante known as Muscle Man possessed superhuman strength due to mental suggestion implanted by himself. He began his costumed career as a replacement for the Flash, who briefly retired, although secretly he was the speedster’s friend Blinky Boylan. However, when Draper’s Muscle Man faced the original, the Flash intervened and helped defeat the criminals. Blinky’s powers began to wane over time until he was once more a normal man… well, normal for him!
