First the scientist, a frequent foe of his universe's Green Lantern, from the planet of Aoran who developed a star band providing him with immortality. He sought immortality from the stellar energy, harnessing the Star-Band device he invented. However, a side effect transformed the once benevolent scientist into a malevolent menace to his family and the people of his world, watching gleefully as he remained young while his wife and children advanced into old age. Now known as Evil Star, he wielded energy powers similar to Earth-One's Green Lantern, seeing the Guardians of the Universe as his rivals. Despite four confrontations with Hal Jordan with the powerful weapon and his invincible Starling minions, the man known as Evil Star never triumphed.
Next the crime lord Guy Pompton, owner of Ace Movie Rental Agency, which provided movie props for several Hollywood studios including Stellar Studios. A movie script outline the criminal activities of Evil Star and his underworld associates, which Pompton sought to surpress when Stellar Studios sought to make a movie based on uncovereing his criminal enterprises. This led to Evil Star battling with Green Lantern and his allies in the the Justice Society of America.
Decades later, wealthy heir to the Pemberton fortune, Sylvester Pemberton, exercised his ownership rights over Stellar Studios and reopened it. He also harnesses stellar energies through his Cosmic Converter Belt, similar to Evil Star's Star-Band, and based on the template of Starman's own Cosmic Rod. As a colleague in the Justice Society of Starman, Sylvester as the Star-Spangled Kid used his stellar device for good rather evil as had the Evil Star of Earth-One. And like Evil Star's Star-Band, Star-Spangled Kid's Cosmic Converer Belt was more than a match for the power ring of his universe's Earth-Two.
