In the oft-told tale of the historic first meeting between the Justice League and Justice Society of America, it was their foes who drew them together, and unwittingly spawned a force even they could not reckon with for years to come!
On Earth-Two, decades earlier, the three members of that world's Crime Champions were originally part of the Injustice Society of the World, escaping prison where they had been since their last escapades. When the Fiddler stumbled upon the means to teleport himself as well as the Wizard and Icicle to Earth-One, they met another terrible trio: Felix Faust, Chronos and Doctor Alchemy... another Crime Champions!
Realizing the novelty of stealing on their own world then escaping to a parallel planet of their inter-dimensional teammates, each trio could live off the spoils in relative anonymity elsewhere. This eventually led to an embroiled conflict with the Justice League that left that team imprisoned within their Happy Harbor headquarters.
However, they were able to contact the Justice Society, and thus the first meeting of these twin teams occurred to face the sinister sextet... with a coordinated attack this time.
The two teams still seemed to face a daunting challenge, even when they exchanged Earths and faced each others' fiendish felons. Despite the fact neither trio were the dopplegangers of the other (Felix Faust's was Kent Nelson aka Doctor Fate, Chronos' was Degaton's henchman Kale, Doctor Alchemy's was Sargon, the Wizard's was Abra Kadabra, the Fiddler's was the Pied Piper and the Icicle's was Captain Cold) they were able to imitate each other's modus operandi in techniques and weaponry. After another clash between the Champions and their Justice foes, it seemed as if the League and Society would be trapped for eternity between dimensions. Yet through team work, the twin teams triumphed over the two terrible trios, though the Crime Champions would appear several years later for a rematch!
Felix would continue to return to hatch schemes versus the League, Chronos would renew his recurring battles with the Atom, and Doctor Alchemy would be cured of his former felonious ways with the aid of his foe and friend, the Flash. Faust’s counterpart Doctor Fate continues to be a stalwart member of the Justice Society and protect his world numerous times. Chronos’ counterpart Kale would continue to be involved in schemes hatched by his main boss Per Degaton throughout the decades, and later assisting the Ultra-Humanite. And Doctor Alchemy’s counterpart Sargon migrated to the Doctor’s Earth, just as Alchemy had briefly done the same on Alchemy’s Earth, only Sargon became first a supervillain then once more a hero during his encounters with the Flash.
The Wizard would recreate his Injustice Society for a third attack against their opposite numbers, while his counterpart Abra Kadabra later did the same with the Injustice Gang. The Icicle would joined the Wizard in that later tale, then teamed up with his counterpart Captain Cold, and the Fiddler would once more combat his Flash. The Fiddler continued clashing with his arch-foe the Flash and eventually rejoined the Injustice Society years later.
These parallel planets continued to be protected from all threats, as if the loser Champions had never existed. Until another occasion when they reappeared... led by an evil… Johnny Thunder?!?
