For our inaugural Twice-Told-Tales, we present a classic tale wherein the Batmen of Earths One and Two teamed up, in a sense, to battle the same foe... even though the Darknight Detectives never actually met in the process. We introduce Nicholas Lucien, intellegent men who each made their own decision, one to live a life as an upstanding citizen and the other as a supervillain.
While Mr. Lucien on Earth-One led a life keeping himself out of the public eye, in a bad sense, his cosmic twin earned a reputation as a repeat... and unsucessful... felon. However on Earth-Two, he found the perfect death trap in a pit of molten lava. Something he would repeat decades later when he exchanged places with his counterpart on Earth-One, improving on his design...
Still, each time, he underestimated the creativity of his adversaries, as each Batman dealt with this trap in a manner he hadn't forseen that saved the lives of the Caped Crusaders...
While the goldan age Batman was a bit rough on his adversary, not only knocking out Brimstone but causing his decades long coma from which he'd awake as a crippled old man in prison, years after his hated foe had passed away. Devising the means of transferring his mind into his twin's body on Earth-One, he once more found himself humbled. Yet this time, Nicholas... the good one... regained his sanity now freed of the influence of his Earth-Two twin...
And so, the good Nicholas ended up vindicated of his past as Brimstone, allowing him to once more live his quite and unassuming life. As for the real Brimstone, he was once more left immobilized though this time fully aware of his sad state of affairs...
