Dream research is among the most intriguing fields to pursue, as it taps into the hidden subconscious of humanity with its deepest desires revealed! For Garrett Sanford and Wesley Dodds, this curiousity led to their adopting colorful careers as costumed crimefighters. Sanford used his technology to enter the Dream Dimension and retrieve an important dignitary of Earth-One. The cost of this action was his being trapped therein except for a one hour per day, when he could return to home. Wesley Dodds was an adventuring playboy who simply desired to combat evil in all its forms. Both men utilized sand that could put one to sleep, and each had terrific physiques and incredible zeal. While Wesley eventually joined Earth-Two's Justice Society of America, Garrett only assisted the Justice League of America on one occasion although it was implied they offered him an honorary membership given his unique circumstance. Both men helped lads, Jed and Sandy, to conquer their own personal nightmares and have peaceful lives in the end. Even if such wasn't the case for the Sandmen themselves.
