I-Ching was the surviving member of an ancient monastery where he was trained in the martial arts. Pursuing the killer of his fellowmen, Doctor Cyber, I-Ching enlisted the aid of Diana Prince, the at that time de-powered Wonder Woman of Earth-One. Training the former Amazing Amazon in the martial arts, his tutelage of Diana led to her non-costumed career where she opened a boutique and fought criminal masterminds such as Doctor Cyber and even Ching's estranged daughter. The aged master eventually also assisted Superman when he too was going through a crisis involving his powers.
The man known only as the Enlightened One was the premier trainer of meta agents on Earth-Two's Japan during the formative years leading up to World War II. His prized pupil was a young man who would become known as Sumo the Samurai, for whom after teaching him the ways of the warrior. Upon completion of his tutelage, he was given the Enlightened One's "potion of power" which made superhuman in strength and endurance.
