Today we consider two sets of costumed crusaders who each bounced back from adversities set before them in a future era. This would be Bouncing Boy and Triplicate Girl of Earth-One, as well as Federal Man and Bandit Queen of Earth-Two... all in the 30th century.
Chuck Tane was a delivery driver who accidentally ingested fluid which transformed his body into a elastic form, allowing him to expand to tremendous widths and bounce incredible heights. Joining the Legion as Bouncing Boy, over time Chuck grew to love the heroine known as Triplicate Girl. Lournu Durgo of the planet Cargg used her native-born ability to create three independently functioning bodies in order to aid the Legion as their fourth member to join. Even when the original Triplicate Girl perished versus Computo, her two clones as Duo Damsel fought fearlessly and eventually married Chuck. The two then retired to become instructors at the Legion Academy.
Jor-L was an ace agent of the Space Legion that were Federal Men in his era, and he was noted for bringing to justice the Bandit Queen, Nira-Q. While his own athletic prowess enabled him to operate solo, her attributed was in recruiting to green humanoid aliens to do her bidding. In the end, it was Jor-L who triumphed.... as witnessed by a 20th century inspiration for the Federal Men in Steve Carson who like Superboy of Earth-One was the role model for a band of protectors living one thousand years in his future.
