Among the most elite of supervillains are those physically, mentally and emotionally conditioned to excel against overwhelming odds, using talent and tenacity. Such was true of Deathstroke and Armageddon. Each were artificially embued with stimulants which augment their abilities to near superhuman levels. Coupled with their aptitude as brilliant battlefield tacticians and their unyielding courage when facing superior numbers of superheroes who opposed them. these men were never quite defeated and were difficult to capture during their many conflicts with the heroes of their respective Earths.
On Earth-One, Slade Wilson was a military man treated with chemicals that granted him access to mental capacities, helping him unlock his full potential both psychologically as well as with enhancing his strength and agility to amazing levels. He came equpped with various swords, grenandes and high-caliber firearms. Stylizing himself as a mercenary-for-hire known as Deathstroke the Terminator, he was motivated to fullfill the contract his deceased son Grant entered into with the criminal organzation known as H.I.V.E.. While his son failed to complete this committment, Deathstroke was able to temporarily defeat the New Teen Titans including Wonder Girl. This occured when Slade inserted a secret double agent within their midst, as the teenage superheroine of Marcovia known as Terra was accepted into the Titans and betrayed them.
On Earth-Two, an unidentified Nazi agent named Armaggedon was sent by German leader Adolph Hitler to sabotage the United States military. Utilizing a network of operatives and advanced equipment coupled with his keen strategic mind, Armageddon first faced off against Doctor Mid-Nite and soon thereafter Wonder Woman in his pursuit to create Muttorrs, artificial mutant giants through a mutagenic compound. Armaggeon came equipped with specialized weaponry including a battle axe, vibration-emitting boots and a jet backpack.
Ultimately, it was Slade's other son Joseph aka Jericho (himself a mutant who could mentally manipulate others, due to genetics inherited from his father's earlier treatments) who along with Dick "Nightwing" Grayson were able to free the Titans. Although Wilson was conficted of criminal activities, those charges were eventually dropped as he ended his grudge against the Titans.
Repeatedly, after various conflicts with various members of the Justice Society, Armageddon found no lasting success at undermining the American government for his German masters. What became of this masked madman is unknown, although the fact that he closely guarded his identity seems to indicate he may be a famous individual underneath his mask, and may have returned using another identity following the collapse of his home government following the conclusion of World War II.
