These twin masters of light had discovered a curious side-effect to their dappling in the fields of chromatic and monochromatic marvels, that is to say their control over colors and darkness, that said energies provided gateways into parallel dimensions. Rainbow Raider used his techniques to flood his dimension in black-and-white while releasing the colors in Central City into Earth-Two's Keystone City. What he failed to anticipate in his endeavor was that he would have an equally evil counterpart in the Shade, who sought out the means to restore balance to his own world so that he may wield darkness once more, and so traveled to Earth-One. This was nothing new, he had done so years earlier when he unleashed shadow beasts on Central City, plundering that Flash's town while taunting his own Flash with his ill-gotten gains that were duplicates of objects in his own world. On this case, however, the Shade teamed up with Earth-One's Flash to turn the tides versus his counterpart, leading to the Rainbow Raider's defeat. Whether the Raider would later discover that his own terrible twin was the cause of his plan coming unraveled is unknown. However, that each man posed tremendous threats to humanity in general and a pair of Flashs in particular is without question.
