While the main Secret Society teams of each world had primary agendas, such as working for Darkseid, pitting heroes versus one another, forming secret alliances, singling out superheroes... sometimes its just an all-out grudge match. Such was the case when the Silver Ghost recruited several Supervillains that weren't main members... aside from Mirror Master and Copperhead... to once-and-for-all defeat his mortal enemies.
These adversaries, the Freedom Fighters, were originally from Earth-Two but later migrated to Earth-X for several decades before moving once more to Earth-One. This would be their last adventure there, as the Fighters ultimately defeated the Society, although the Ghost used his power against himself and his arch-foe Firebrand who was a recent addition to the Freedom team. Although during the Crisis, Silver Ghost and then Firebrand would both be revived from their silver-encased state, this was the last blow for the heroes who returned to Earth-X after several months on the run from the law for crimes they didn't commit.
On their homeworld, a time displaced Infinity Inc. was sent back to 1942 by the Ultra-Humanite along with his Secret Society to defeat the All-Star Squadron of that era. A Squadron which included Phantom Lady, who was also one of the Fighters in the 1970's battling the same team on a another world but different members. This scheme of the Society also failed as these criminal were outmaneuvered individuals or in pairs. However, the main team under the Wizard would after these occasions orchestrate coups versus the World's Greatest Heroes of parallel planets...
