After the main run of the Secret Society of Supervillains had concluded, they had an impressive if ultimately unsatisfactory resume in their initial history. Consider:
- The first appearances of each Earth's Secret Society had a similar number of crooks that beat imitations of their foes: a robotic Justice League and the children of the Justice Society.
- Darkseid had been instrumental in the Earth-One Secret Society's formation, and later assuming control of their then doppleganger on Earth-Two, the Injustice Society.
- Both Society's manipulated hero versus hero, while engaging the attention of telepathic mutants Captain Comet and Brainwave Junior who followed them doggedly.
- Each team had decisive battles within the key headquarters involving telepaths, star-powered beings, cold-generating felons, gifted gliders, a Flash or Flash foe, and two Power players
- On separate occasions the Hawkmen and the Atoms both drew the attention of the Societies.
- Gorilla Grodd and the Wizard each hatched schemes using their Socialites to take out individual members of the Justice League and Society, though this proved unsuccessful.
- Strike forces from within both organizations were sent to battle the Freedom Fighters and the All-Star Squadron, both teams including Phantom Lady.
And now perhaps the most stunning parallel case, with the same five members attacking first the heroes of Earth-Two then their counterparts on Earth-One! After the Wizard's campaign to capture individual Justice Socialites had failed, he and his comrades Star Sapphire, Professor Zoom, Blockbuster and the Floronic Man battled the Justice Society. Just as Green Lantern, the Flash, Doctor Fate, Star-Spangled Kid and the Huntress had them cornered, the Secret Society journeyed into the Limbo between universes. Eventually freeing themselves, they arrived on the Leaguers' world, where they captured and traded bodies with Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Superman, Zatanna and Batman. This proved only temporary, as other Justice Leaguers discovered the villains' rouse and helped reverse the process... imprisoning the last remnant of the Secret Society.
Thus ended this long and infamous group, seemingly forever. However, all it took was another simian to rebuild that which Gorilla Grodd had walked away from, and in turn from the last incarnation of the Secret Society... would be spawned the chronologically first version decades earlier!!!
