Rocky Rebels Regaining Righteousness vs Mettlesome Metal Masterminds

Blok of the lost planet Dymad, last of his race of rock people, joined his human friends not transformed into sinister supervillains in the League of Super-Assassins. Believing that the Legion of Super-Heroes were behind their world's destruction, they were manipulated by the mysterious Dark Man into a mission to defeat and destroy the Legion. And yet, it was later revealed that Legion was not the enemy he thought, and so Blok joined them and their foes the Fatal Five into storming the headquarters of his former benefactor. Turns out, this malevolent mastermind was really a clone of the Five's leader, Tharok, and so as the Dark Man utilized his vast knowledge to remove all his foes in one fell swoop.

Over a thousand years before and a universe away, Dr. Brett creates a metallic armor to impersonate a robot while using a mysterious mannequin in a glass case to assume the alias of Sense-Master. Heightening the senses of five crooks, he sends them on missions to obtain five jewels that together compose the Lifestone. All five fiends attract the attention of Law's Legionnaires, and ultimately Brett uses the Lifestone to animate the statue of Atlas in order to attack the assembled avengers. They turn the tide on Atlas who, unlike Blok, is somewhat dimwitted... and turn the Lifestone back on Brett. This causes the former robot turned mad scientist Sense-Master into an immobile stone himself. At this point, the Lifestone is lost seemingly forever, although the fact that within it courses such energy leaves potential for a return.

While that case concluded with Atlas and his former master on Earth-Two, back on Earth-One in the 30th century Blok turns the tide against his own former master the Dark Man. When it revealed that the sinister crimelord is a clone of Tharok, the half-man half-machine like Sense-Master, the two bald bad guys attack one another leaving both of them seemingly dead. At the resolution of the conflict, Blok is found to be of merit as he turns from his once vengeful ways leaving his League teammates behind to aid the Legion, which grants him membership into their organization. A membership he earns with distinction throughout the subsequent years fighting side-by-side with the teen Super-Heroes of the future.

Back on Earth-One in the 20th century, a Master-of -the-Five-Senses and his henchwoman Miss Marvelous caused the following members of the Blackhawks team to lose certain senses: Hendrickson his sight, Andre his sense of smell, Stanislaus his hearing, Chuck his sense of taste, and Olaf his sense of touch. This mimics what happened to the increased acuity of the senses of Sense-Master's five henchmen: Eagle-Eye Nelson, Mr. Hound, Mickey Gordon, Leo Palate and Fingers O'Fallon respectively. All bad guys were beaten… senseless!
