Stacy Macklin had been an astronaut trainee as N.A.S.A. at the same time as Diana Prince, the Wonder Woman of Earth-One. On one occasion, while alongside fellow astronaut Brice Rogers, she had been exposed to radiation that years earlier had affected Brice when his space craft passed by a Kryptonite asteroid while in orbit around the moon.
This had caused Rogers to become the villainous Moonman each time he had been exposed to moonlight as a catalyst. Moonman gained electromagnetic powers, which he used for criminal endeavors. After battling Superman and Batman, Rogers' powers faded and he was cured of his amoral attitudes. He then resumed his military career.
A similar event occurred on Earth-Two, according to the Essential Batman Encyclopedia, where that world's Brice Rogers as the Moonman had a simliar battle with the Superman and Batman of that universe, which resulted in the same outcome.
Back on Earth-One, Macklin found herself transformed into the evil Lady Lunar, which empowered her with gravitational abilities allowing her to fly and attract as well as repel objects. She also manifested the ability to alter the perceptions of others, causing those around her to become temporarily insane. Superman and Batman were able to likewise defeat her, she then reverted to normal. However, Lady Lunar reappeared during the Crisis on Infinite Earths
Thomas K. Cole was a fighter pilot in World War I. Following this, Cole was elected as a Congressman and displayed an animosity towards Wonder Woman due to her interactions with the military. An alien adversary of hers at that time decided to make Cole his pawn, endowing him with superhuman powers of fight and energy blast rays from his gloves, powered by a disc from planet Mars-Two.
As the Bombardier, he would aid the Amazing Amazon against her foes Paula Von Gunther and the Red Panzer as well as their Nazi German force. When his disc was revealed as a true threat towards peace, Wonder Woman destroyed it.
