Among the most critical Earths within the DC Multiverse is that of Earth-Prime. From this world, their inhabitants are able to effect the actions of individuals on alternate Earths. And those other Earthly beings could also interact with creative people from the Prime universe.
In 1978, one such occurence transpired when five members of the Justice League were plucked from Earth-One and brought to Earth-Prime, due to the appearance of that latter world's first superhero and supervillian. The hero, Ultraa, was sole survivor of his world, and his former robotic nursemaid Maxitron somehow inadvertently pulled the Leaguers into their reality. They and Ultra left for Earth-One after Maxitron's defeat.
In the late fall of 1941 on Earth-Two, a mysterious mustached mutant travelled to Earth-Prime, kidnapping various artists from the Prime world's "comic factory". Once under his control, they could no longer pen tales of villians always losing to heroes, which led to several future Freedom Fighters landing in an "unemployment line". These included the Ray, Black Condor, Neon the Unknown, Quicksilver and Joe Hercules. Once Uncle Sam noticed, he helped free the artists and subdued their captor, which led to the defeat of his evil allies*. Apparently, following this trip to the then-unnamed Earth-Prime, Sam was motivated to move to a third parallel planet, Earth-X... where the Freedom Fighters would officially be founded!
* Among these villains was the green skinned female ruler of "Evil Land", whom Sam defeated while visiting "Kid Land" in a previous tale, the counterpart of Phantom Stranger's arch-foe Tala of Earth-One. She would later resurface as Inza Nelson's green-skinned evil duplicate Jealousy to battle Doctor Fate.
