Global Guardians: Fleetfooted Fighters

Impala was born with the given name M'Bulaze, who had through unexplained circumstances obtained the powers of superhuman speed. Protecting his native South Africa, on one occasion he aided the Justice Leaguer the Flash into dismantling a bomb planted by an alien invader. Similar events occurred across the globe, tying an American hero with an international hero, this being the genesis of a much larger organization for which Impala would later be associated with. In fact, years later Impala would join forces with Doctor Mist's Global Guardians, to protect Earth-One during the Crisis on Infinite Earths. 

Decades before, on Earth-Two, it was a superhuman speedster named Antelope Boy who drew the attention of the All-Star Squadron member known as Johnny Quick. This incident happened when a mobster blackmailed the young lad to be his high-speed courier. At the end of this adventure, Antelope Boy was helped towards his goal of getting into college.
