Fringe Week: Superman Returns

We now present Batman The Dark Knight Returns Superman The Man of Steel Returns. Just as Dark Knight was a revolutionary take on Batman ten years from now in a dystopean future where vigilantes like the Caped Crusader were outlawed, in the other Earth of Peter Bishop on Fringe had a its own Frank Miller who penned his own mini-series, albeit with the Man of Steel as the central character. It isn't hard to imagine how the plot would be developed, considering such a series was created years later under Kingdom Come. Remove the second generation superheroes that existed in that comic and leave the angst that Superman felt leading to his retreat into retirement, and you have the template for the Fringe-version of this classic tale.
