T.O.Morrow is only a day… and a universe…away

Habitat was the major theme exhibition of the 1967 Montreal World Exposition. As a landmark state-of-the-art project, it pioneered a vision for urban housing. Based on this revolutionary design, another far grander metropolitan complex would be developed in Quebec, Canada, one that drew the attention of the most ancient adversary of antiquity and fearsome foe of the future. The experimental City of Tomorrow… which one monster sought to destroy and one madman sought to plunder. And each city, along with its tremendous technology, impacted crisises on Earths One and Two which the Greatest Heroes of Parallel Planets had to face together.

On Earth-One, the City of Tomorrow was the target chosed by the ancient adversary of humanity, King Kull, to be the start of his devastating attack on that world. Having tried to use his wonderous weaponry and supervillain sycophants to destroy Earth-Two and his native Earth-S, in both instances having failed, Kull focused all his attention on the homeworld of the Justice League. Installing a mechanism designed to speed up Earth-One's rotation in order to disrupt its gravity, Kull's device was disassembled by both Earths' Green Lanterns with aid from their Earth-S counterpart Ibis the Invincible. Together with the Flash and Mercury/Kid Eternity of three Earths, Kull's mechanical menaces Brainiac and Mister Atom were also disabled, allowing the League, Society and Earth-S' Squadron of Justice to finally confront and defeat King Kull himself at the Rock of Eternity.

Years earlier on Earth-Two, a visiting sinister scientist known as T.O. Morrow used his time scanner which peered into the future of that world along with his fourth-dimensional grappling hook (devices previously discovered by the Nazi inventor Helmut Streicher*) to steal gadgetry from the City of Tomorrow found in that planet's Quebec. With these cutting edge devices, Morrow and his minions engaged in a cross-dimensional crimewave. Peering once more into the future, he replicated a sentient computer to service his nefarious needs. Morrow developed an army of androids including Red Tornado to eliminate first the Justice Society and later his old foes in the Justice League on his home world . Despite temporary victories against members of both teams, Morrow was defeated thanks to the timely intervention of his creation Red Tornado, who joined the Justice Society. Years later, this amazing android would migrate to Earth-One, and join the Justice League.

Why T.O. Morrow, when using his temporal vision device to peer into the future, could only see the city on Earth-Two rather than his own Earth-One is unknown. It may be because, at that time, the sentinent Construct II** was disrupting Morrow's technology on Earth-One so it could horde these scientific secrets all for itself. In the process, Morrow discovered the Construct's Earth-Two counterpart in the sentient computer he later used to design Red Tornado*. Ironically, after that android was destroyed following his move to Earth-One, Construct III reconstituted the cyclonic cyborg's body to become a new version of Red Tornado. Thankfully, the original consciousness of Tornado asserted itself over Construct III and purged it from his mind.

* It seems the structural design of Red Panzer and Red Tornado were both borrowed from Streicher and Morrow’s time scanners they each built on Earth-Two and Earth-One.

** The Earth-Two doppelgängers of Earth-One’s Constructs I, II, III and IV were: Hourman’s Crime-Caster, Morrow’s Computer, Red Tornado, and the computer from the City of Tomorrow (while Morrow briefly brought over his computer to Earth-One, it was later absorbed onto Construct IV’s consciousness before Red Tornado destroyed it).

The Other Champions of Two Worlds

When first the Justice League met the Justice Society, after the Flash of each team had met three times (and on the third time rescued the Society from Vandal Savage), what drew the two teams together was six of their enemies joined together. Calling themselves the Crime Champions, three foes of the League and three foes of the Society banded together, each trio trading worlds with the other so they could pillage a new planet unprepared for their presence. Years later, another group of Challengers caused these teams troubles.

It began when the Fiddler along with his fellow allies of the Injustice Society pierced the barrier between their Earth-Two and that of Earth-One, where they encountered Felix Faust, Doctor Alchemy and Chronos of that world. Although initially successful in their schemes, these Champion were eventually defeated by the twin teams. Yet it was now evident that technology could bridge the gap between these parallel planes of existence, which a Dr. Challenger would like the Fiddler use to unleash chaos upon parallel planets.

Years later, physicist Dr. Joshua Champion successfully bridged the gap with the dimension ruled by the powerful lord named the Commander. Controlling Champion as his pawn, Commander attempted to launch an invasion of Joshua's Earth-One, although the doctor mentally moved the evil overlord's forces to Earth-Two where they battled the Justice Society. When his sister Meredith, son Ian and daughter Victoria used dimension spanning abilities they acquired from Joshua, the trio contacted the Justice League and brought them to Earth-Two to assist the Society in repelling the Commander's multiple invasions on that world.

After a quartet of League and Society members along with Victoria and Meredith entered the Commander's universe and retrieved Joshua from his grasp. they reunited with Ian and the rest of their teammates to have a final confrontation with the Commander himself. At this point, creating a new mechanized body, the Commander became an Earth-Two counterpart of Earth-One's robotic Brainiac spawned at about the same period of time, and like him attempted to create a "Panic in the Skies" over that Earth. Thanks to the timely intervention of the Monitor, Commander was distracted and destroyed when his body was racked with cosmic energy.

What became of Joshua, Meredith, Ian and Victoria is unknown, as following the Commander's defeat and their return to their native Earth-One, the fantastic family foursome used their dimensional-traveling powers to leave their universe and explore Earths Two, Three, and S of the Multiverse. Joshua’s counterpart George Edward Challanger discovered the “Lost World” of Earth-Two, a hidden plateau in South America which his son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter Georgia tried to find with the All-Star Squadron in 1942.

Twice-Told-Tales: Metamorphic Mayhem

Most superheroes offered membership into the illustrative Justice League of America have accepted their offer to join their ranks. However, there have been a few who declined this privilege. Adam Strange felt his obligations to his adoptive home on the world of Rann kept him from protecting his native home on Earth-One. Phantom Stranger never officially affirmed their offer, although he alluded to having tacitly accepting it from time to time. Black Lightning felt the League's global activity would keep him away from Metropolis' Suicide Slum, where he was needed most. The Justice Society of America likewise had a few honorary members declining full membership, such as Superman and Batman, due to their extensive commitments on Metropolis and Gotham City.

Rex “Metamorpho” Mason was the most notable example of an honorary member who declined full membership status in the League, as he was a reluctant superhero and only wanted to regain his humanity. However, at the same time the League extended their offer to Rex, and alien entity known as the Unimaginable* also wanted to join the team. Rejecting the being’s offer incurred its wrath, as it launched all manners of creatures against the World’s Greatest Superheroes and the Element Man. Using his elemental abilities, Mason is able to follow Leaguers Flash, Green Lantern, Atom, Batman and Superman into space where their foe has held them hostage, and aids yum in infiltrating Unimaginable’s body thereby defeating their adversary.

Joe Mason was a man who resented the opportunities that slipped through his hands over the years, when he trainee three young men to each become professional boxers. Instead, Ted “Wildcat” Grant then Al “Atom” Pratt and finally Jim “Guardian” Harper used Morgan’s training for heroics instead of athletics and adopted their alter egos. When an evil entity from outer space known as the Evil-Globe** sought out and merged with Morgan, the human/alien hybrid being captured and mentally manipulated Grant, Pratt and Harper… sending the trio after Justice Society members Green Lantern, Flash and Wondee Woman. The Globe’s ultimate goal was to defeat the Lantern and steal his power ring, in order to free itself from its indentured existence left upon it by his creators… the Guardians of the Universe. These powerful immortals of Earth-One’s universe cast out their evil impulses and stored into the evil-globe which they exiled into Earth-Two’s reality for all-time.

Shortly after its defeat, the Unimaginable returned to enact revenge against the Justice League which rejected it. Infecting the Leaguers he previously encountered with microorganisms which caused them to grow to a large stature, they sought  cure from alien physician Doctor Bendorion while their teammates including Woman Woman, fought criminals empowered by the energy entity that were running rampant. Metamorpho himself learned he wasn’t infected by their mutual foe, while the League discovered Bendorion and Unimaginable were one-and-the-same and permanently incarcerated the problematic pest.

The six All-Star Squadron members who initially fought one another under the Evil-Globe’s influence tracked down three colorful colors of Joe Morgan, and then faced the gigantic merged form of all three. Atom, Wildcat and Guardian each by their words awoke the goodness within Joe Morgan, who internally fought to separate himself from the globe entity. While Morgan, once more human, lay dying… Green Lantern used his power ring to exile the globe back to other space.

* The Unimaginable’s Earth-Two counterpart was the equally enigmatic Aquarius, which later plagued both the Justice Society and later the Justice League, and almost erased Earth-Two from existence.

** The Evil-Globe’s Earth-One counterpart was the Green Glob, both of which created by the Guardians of the Iniverse. However, while the Globe in its split forms caused chaos wherever it found a willing human to join with, the various Globs worked to provide order and imparted life lessons to all humans whom they encountered throughout the years.

Chronal Copies Temporal Twins

The physics differed drastically in the  divergent dimension of Earths One and Two, and among these was the affect on time with living beings. In one universe, a temporally displaced individual could not exist in the same time as the past or future version of themselves. In another universe, an individual could exist as multiple copies of themselves at the same time. However, in that second reality, it was impossible to create a chronal clone of themselves while in the first it was entirely possible.

Two time tyrants discovered these core principals in their native realms and more than once manipulated these quirks in physics to their own amoral agendas. These villains were T.O. Morrow of Earth-One, and Per Degaton of Earth-Two, and both men were persistent foes of the Justice League and Justice Society, respectively.

T.O. Morrow first appeared in Central City, when he spawned three chronoal counterparts of Hal "Green Lantern" Jordan, complete with identical power rings. These three synthetic beings were sent by their creator to steal precious items from the Louve in Paris, the Statue of Liberty in New York City, and London. This terrible trio  taunt Green Lantern and his Justice League teammate the Flash, who each pursue one of the fake Lanterns in Paris and New York, and then the pair seemingly teammup in London the Flash determines that his partner is one of the fakes. The real Lantern was defeated in New York City, and after freeing his friend, the Leaguers track down Morrow at his headquarters while the psuedo-Lanterns fade from existence. Although initially tricked by the T.O. Morrow temporal clone, the heroes discover this rouse and corner the real Morrow. Seeing no way out, the villain seemingly falls to his death in an underground pit.

Per Degaon hatched the third of this history-altering schemes when he recruited the Crime Syndicate of Earth-Three to accompany him to Earth-Prime, where the rogues stole nuclear weapons from Cuba. Bringing them back to Earth-Two in 1942, Degaton sought to blackmail the world into accepting his authoritarian rule, which in one future timeline was successful until the early 1980s. However, the Justice League of Earth-One travelled back to that era and teamed up with the All-Star Squadron to oppose him, and soon found their friends from the future appear in the skies above one of Degaton's nuclear detonation demonstrations at sea. These were the 1980 versions of 1940s Justice Society members Green Lantern, Starman and Doctor Fate... along with superheroines Power Girl and Huntress. The three male Society members were the chronal counterparts of Morrow's initial two Green Lanterns and himself (while the 1980s Power Girl, who also existed in the 1940s, was the chronal counterpart of Supergirl's Satan Girl/Nightflame clone from the 1970s).

The third of Morrow's Green Lantern temporal twins had a counterpart in the Conqueror's synthetic Green Lantern, which he used against the original and his Justice Society allies. Years later, T.O. developed chronal clones of Steve Trevor, Mera, Hawkgirl, Jean Loring and a girl name Midge... in order the ensnare Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Hawkman, Atom and Snapper Carr into accepting their paralyzing kisses. Once they accomplished their evil deeds for their master, these being like the lethal Lantern trio faded from existence.

During Per's previous time traveling case, he brought back to 1941 future versions of Wotan, Professor Zobar Zodiak, Sky Pirate, King Bee and the Monster (as well as Solomon Grundy, whose Earth-One counterpart was the artificial Grundy clone created by the Parasite in his war against Superman). These chronal clones existed during the same time period as their earlier version, who were unaware that their future selves were engaged in battle with the All-Star Squadron. This scheme, as with all of Degaton's schemes, failed miserably.

Years later, T.O. Morrow reappeared and disgarded the use of chornal clones, and once more manufactured Red Tornado androids modeled after the original, who turned against his master and joined the Justice Society (and later the Justice League). These Tornado androids were made of the same temporal technology as the living chrononal clones, but unlike these being they were made of silicon chips and hardware.

Kara Klones Kause Krisis

Linda Danvers II was the product of a genetic experiment, spawned by an adversary of the Earth-One Supergirl in order to make six miniaturized clones of the heroine. After battling them, Supergirl used Gold Kryptonite to drain them of their superhuman abilities, and kept them in stasis. However, the mental bond that existed between them allowed them to merge into one unified individual.

Karen Starr II was in actuality the original Kara Zor-L, who rather than being cloned into a new life form from cells of the original, was kept alive and youthful as her cells replicated continually for decades. During these forty years in outerspace, another Kara was spawned within the Symbioship's fabricated artificial reality which replicated Krypton-Two's Kandor-Two including her parents. Once Kara arrived on Earth-Two, she reunited with her cousin Kal-L aka Superman. As this happened, the duplicate Kandor Kara within her mind was erased from existence, while her body began to age normally.

For a brief period of time, “Linda Danvers” used her mental abilities to cloud the memories of Supergirl, causing the Girl of Steel to forget her alter ego as Linda Lee Danvers. This was with the intent that the clone could live out Linda’s life in peace, while Supergurl carried on her costumed career full time. However, Kara Zor-El regained her senses and pieced together fragments of memories until she deduced who was the culprit behind her temporary amnesia. Once she confronted her with the truth, Supergirl proposed to “Linda” that both women could live out their lives independent of one another.

Due to the protective radiation generated by her three comrades when traveling back to Earth-Two from Earth-Prime, they along with Power Girl became temporal clones of earlier versions themselves. Younger versions of Green Lantern, Doctor Fate and Starman* were operating as costumed crusaders in 1942. Meanwhile, Power Girl’s earlier version of herself was rocketing through space while residing for decades within the life-sustaining vessel known as the Symbioship.

Of course, there were other versions of Kara Zor-El and Kara Zor-L. Their counterpart of Earth-Three, raised in the Kandor of Krypton-One, became Supergirl's arch-enemy Lesla Lar. The Kara Zor-L of post-Crisis Earth-0 merged her mind with a warrior princess in the notional reality version of Asgard, located high above Earth-Two.

Then, there were the Kara’s’ dream doppelgängers:  Satan Girl aka Nightflame of the Innerverse dream reality within Supergirl’s mind, and the Power Girl from Earth-Two's future was journeyed to 1942 as well as the Power Girl who split from her during the Crisis on Infinite Earths.

* The Earth-One versions of the Earth-Two's Green Lantern, Starman and Doctor Fate’s-temporal clones were two ofT.O. Morrow'sGreen Lantern temporal clones (his third Green Lantern mirrored the Earth-Two Conqueror’s Green Lantern clone) and his T.O. Morrow clone. As for the Huntress, Justice Leaguers and Crime Syndicators…  they were not alive in 1942, and would not have had temporal clones.

Junior JSA: The Golden Age Teen Titans

Decades before the formation of the second generation of young heroes, following in the the fabled footsteps of their mentors the Justice League, another team of terrific teens did the same by modeling themselves after the Justice Society of America. While not as colorful as the Teen Titans of Earth-One*, the Junior Justice Society of Earth-Two were just as courageous! These lads and lasses fearlessly faced supervillains and criminal gangs, lacking powers, with only teamwork and tenacity to triumph over terrible tyrants!

When they first appeared, there were reportedly “thousands” of Junior JSA across America. Alongside their role models, Junior members Eddie Brackus, Ted Worth, and others helped the adult Society combat Adolph Hitler’s spy network. These youths returned to help capture the Wizard, who was then leading the first incarnation of the Injustice Gang of the World. Shortly after this, Don Brent and his Junior teammates supported the Justice Society's efforts to combat the Crimson Claw Gang, which had Don's brother Chick as one of its members. On all three adventures, Tommy "Little Boy Blue" Rogers and his "Blue Boys" pals Toughy and Tubby, as well as a young Christopher "Vulcan" Pike and the "Cyclone Kids" Dinky and Sisty were active Junior JSAers (pictured in civilian clothes versus the Wizard and meeting at their club room)!

Junior members also aided individual Society members during their solo adventures. For example, a lad named Bob assisted the Flash in escaping a trap set by his foe the Turtle. Later, Junior JSAers Bill Townley and Mary Ames accompanied Wonder Woman as she was confronting the Duke of Deception with his invading Martian forces.

Over on Earth-One, the Teen Titans were supported in their crimefighting endeavors by adventurous adolescents. Student Chet Walters joined the Teen Titans when they first fought the Aliens of Dimension X. Teenage protestor Chuck along with his big brother David, aka the costumed crusader Joshua, joined forces with the Titans in combatting those aliens.  The Teen Titans, like the Junior JSA, briefly operated only in their civilian identities. Under the tutelage of Mr. Jupiter, the Titans' Wally “Kid Flash” West, Donna “Wonder Girl” Troy, Roy “Speedy” Harper, Lilith and Mal “Hornblower” Duncan set aside their uniforms.

Years later, school students Alec and Shana aka the Whiz Kids, like Bill and Mary aided a grownup hero confronting a vile villain, when they joined forces with Justice Leaguer Superman in defeating Major Menace.  The Whiz Kids would also assist Superman's cousin Supergirl and his Justice League teammate in two other adventures, both times vs Lex Luthor!

The Earth-Two counterparts of Robin, Kid Flash, Aqualad, Wonder Girl and Speedy never joined the Junior JSA. Earth-Two Robin, Johnny Quick, Speedy and Neptune Perkins were All-Star Squadron members. Additionally, Speedy was a charter member with his mentor Green Arrow of Law's Legionnaires (also known as the Seven Soldiers of Victory). Meanwhile, rather than being raised on Paradise Island after being saved by Wonder Woman, the orphaned Donna Troy of that world was saved by a firefighter, and in her late teen years was enrolled in Holliday College. She joined Etta Candy and the Holliday Girls as frequent collaborators in Wonder Woman's adventures, once gaining the powers and costume of the Amazing Amazon herself! Regardless, these lads and lasses were Junior JSA in spirit!

All-Time-Legends VS One-Power-Wonders

The Supermen were considered the mightiest mortals of their respective parallel planets. Still, on occasion they met both heroes and villains with powers rivaling their own. And sometimes, those individuals were either a hero or a villain, depending on one's perspective. Such was the case for Jo Nah of planet Rimbor and Reiter of Nazi Germany, two men with Kryptonian-level physiques, with a vulnerability: they could only use one power at a time!

Jo Nah was piloting a spacecraft when his both he and his vessel were swallowed by an Energy Beast, thought to have originated on Krypton-One. The resulting exposure to the beast's inner radiation imbued Jo Nah with energy, which he could use to manifest a single superpower at a time. These powers included super-strength, super-speed, limited invulnerability, flight and flash vision. He soon after joined the ranks of the Legion of Super-Heroes, the premier group of teen titans on Earth-One in the 30th century, where as Ultra Boy he had a long and distinguished career.

Reiter was the commandant of a German concentration camp, who upon being facially scarred by a vial of acid being thrown in his face, was selected by his leader Hitler as a candidate for a test program. This exposure to experimental chemicals unleashed Reiter's helped him unlock his mind's energy to manifest a single superpower at a time. These powers included super-strength, super-speed, limited invulnerability, flight and heat vision. He was made a primary agent of Nazi Germany, sent as Baron Blitzkrieg to the United States of Earth-Two to assassinate his country's foes and steal America's resources, while hailed a champion by his home country's government.

An additional ability both Ultra Boy Baron Blitzkrieg displayed on one occasion was the power of mentally exerting their will on others. Jo Nah did this when he was trapped immobilized in the Limbo dimension, and linked his brain with Superboy’s. Now one with his fellow Legionnaire, Ultra Boy’s mind in Superboy’s body became the hero Reflector, who aided the Legion in defeating Time Trapper and restoring both boys to normal.

Baron Reiter exerted his mental control over Commander Steel, with the intent of using the American superhero as an unwitting assassin of United Kingdom’s Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. Thanks to his teammates in the All-Star Squadron, Steel was restrained from completing the task while saving the English leader. Once the mind-meld between these mighty men was severed, Baron Blitzkrieg was blinded and sought recovery of his sight by fleeing across the Limbo dimension to Earth-X, before finding a cure back on his native Earth-Two.

On one adventure, Ultra Boy's body was taken over by the mind of 20th century criminal John Dillinger, while his teammates Superboy and Mon-El had the minds controlled by Adolph Hitler and Nero. These three time-traveling tyrants were sent to attach Legion, although this terrible threesome ended up betraying one another, after which Ultra Boy and his colleague's minds were restored to normal. On another occasion, a mental mastermind mind-controlled all the Legionnaires except Ultra Boy, Superboy and his girlfriend Lana Lang. During this case, Ultra Boy seemingly defeated Superboy, although soon the Boy of Steel recovered and helped Jo Nah and Lana to free their Legion colleagues while defeating the alien usurper in their midst.

After a series of appearances, Baron Blitzkrieg was sent with Imperial Japanese agent Sumo the Samurai to steal two portions of an experimental America reactor, which was a prototype atomic bomb. While in Louisiana tasked with retrieving one of the sections, Blitzkrieg encountered Superman, sent by the American government to intercept and protect the reactor component from Nazi agents. During the confrontation, Superman and Blitzkrieg battled one another nearly to a drawl, until Superman discovered the Baron could only use one power at a time. While his counterpart Ultra Boy could switch between powers rapidly through extensive training, Blitzkrieg apparently didn't practice this technique himself and was open for defeat. However, the Baron was secretly pretending to be unconscious, in order to lure Superman with the radioactive component to Wonder Woman and Sumo, who had in their possession of the other half of the reactor. In the end, one-time partners Blitzkrieg and Sumo turned on one another, each seeking to procure the assembled reactor for their respective governments. Before they could, Superman caused the device to detonate, destroying it and disabling the two agents.

Stunning Sounds Synthesize Superheroes

Among the scores of adolscent superheroes, from those relying only on their carefully trained physical skills to those embued with powers caused from genetics to accidental mutations, a few derived their abilities from sonic vibrations. Two pairs of Dynamic Duos on parallel planets when gained amazing attributes from soundwaves were Hawk and Dove of Earth-One, and Toughy and Tubby of Earth-Two.

Hank and Don Hall were brothers with conflicting world views. Hank sought to fight back when he saw oppression, which led to his violent demeanor. Don sought to find common ground with his opponents, which led to his peaceful attitude. There father, Judge Irwin Hall, displayed balanced between these two opposing philosophies, displaying justice when necessary and mercy when possible.

Herbert "Toughy" Simms and Richard "Tubby" Mehlville weren't blood relatives, but best friends. These young lads were emotionally balanced, and much as teenagers can be, although physically they were drastically different. Herbert was physically fit and strong, whereas Richard was overweight and durable. They were mentored by their friend Tommy's father, District Attorney Dan Rogers, who taught the three lads the true meaning of justice.

When a local mobster in the city of Elmond threatened Judge Hall’s life, Hank and Don tracked down his gang to a building where they met, yet found themselves trapped in a room within the criminals’ hideout. The Hall boys then heard an incorporeal voice offer them power only when justice needs to be served. By calling out their heroic alter ego names, Hawk for Hank and Dove for Don, the teens transform into costumed crusaders, with Hawk’s athletic abilities amplified to near superhuman strength, while Don’s gymnastic aptitude gives him remarkable agility. Together, they would be joined in their adventures by the horn playing hero Mal “Guardian” Duncan and the red-haired Lilith, and would join the Teen Titans. It’s unknown if perhaps the same incorporeal voice is connected to Mal’s special horn, which could teleport Duncan and others to various locations where needed. These four joined the first members of the Teen Titans: Robin, Speedy, Kid Flash, Aqualad, Wonder Girl, and the Titans’ later members.

When a gang boss began terrorizing Big City, District Attorney Rogers was powerless to stop them. This motivated Tommy into adopting a heroic horn playing alter ego of Little Boy Blue, and inspired Toughy and Tubby into joined him as costumed crusaders. Together, they were able to bring the gang and its leader to justice, and had several adventures throughout the years as the Blue Boys, with the harmonious melody of Tommy’s horn seemingly calling his friends to action no matter where they are in relation to him. It’s unknown if Little Boy Blue’s special horn could imbue the three lads with abilities far beyond those of males their age, as the Blue Boys displayed above average strength and agility. Eventually, they were made members of the All-Star Squadron, where they were teammates with fellow Robin, Speedy, Johnny Quick, Neptune Perkins, Wonder Woman and others.

Determined Daredevil Divers of DC

The preeminent swimmers in the DC Multiverse are, without question, the Aquamen. Then, there were the undersea dwellers from the various Atlantis settlements who adapted to life under the oceans’ depths. From among mankind, the surface dwellers, the most famous divers were Dane Dorrance and his fellow Sea Devils of Earth-One and Jim “Red Torpedo” Lockhart and his allies of Earth-Two. Although other expert swimmers teamed up with them on occasion, those being Walter Haley and Rex Tyler on their spandex suit identities. While their day job was as elite chemist, their physical fitness matched their mental acuity!

The Sea Devils met Walter "Prof" Haley with his fellow Challengers. as had the Red Torpedo met Rex "Hourman" Tyler with his Freedom Fighters, on single missions related to threats to the United States. On these specific cases, these two men were joined by six other men and a lady each (along with a growing sponge-man and a shrinking  mini-man), as these brave teams dealt with imposing threats from foreign powers.

The evil organization known as Scorpio were hired by another country to subvert the American military, and manipulated the mutated Sponge Man into attacking the USA. As the Sea Devils encountered the mutant man, they recalled his former confronting with Prof Haley and his Challengers, and enlisted their aid in facing the creature together. Although the being overpowered them, he was motivated into saving innocent humans by using his sponge powers to absorb deadly gas which cost him his life.

The fascist government of Imperial Japan, which has subversive agents such as the Yellow Scorpion, launched an attack on Pearl Harbor. Learning about this plan ahead of time, the hero Uncle Sam recruited Red Torpedo, Hourman and the remaining Freedom Fighters to defend this threatened location. However, doing so cost Red Torpedo and some of his fellow costumer crusaders their lives, while Hourman barely made it out alive.

The Sea Devils would eventually expand their ranks when the recruited young divers from around Earth-One, forming the International Sea Devils. Included in their illustrative ranks were: Sikki of India, Molo of Africa, Miguel of South America, Petey Eldidge and a lad named Brad from America. Their chief foe and begrudging ally throughout the seven seas was Captain X aka John Payton Dorrance, who was Dane's father. While Dane's doppelgänger Jim Lockhart didn't have a legion of followers, no doubt his example motivated other aspiring deep-sea divers such as the Boy Commandos who patrolled the oceans of Earth-Two.

On a later adventure, Prof and Hourman plunged into the murky depths once more, this time joined with a member of their Earths’ Dynamic Duos of Gotham City. In addition, they teamed up with the other part of their Worlds’ Finest Team, Superman! However, while in Prof’s case there was no friction between he and Earth-One Superman and Batman he teamed up with… Hourman had a bit of friction with Superman and an adult Robin of Earth-Two.

Prof Haley and Ace Morgan request the assistance of Superman and Batman in order to free their fellow Challengers of the Unknown Red Ryan in an undersea cavern below the Andes Mountains and a sky base high above the Arctic. Prof expertly led Batman on a dive into the cavern through an underwater passage. In addition, they were tasked with destructing the gravitational equipment of the Gravity Masters, which kidnapped the two Challengers. Thankfully, the heroes succeeded in both goals.

Hourman and his fellow Justice Society members enlisted the aid of the Justice League in order to defeat the Black Sphere Gang which plundered their world. However, Hourman became infected with a Black Sphere which temporarily turned him evil, attempting to drown Robin. Thankfully, Superman was able to overpower Hourman and restore him to normal, with the two teams freeing the four Gang members of their insidious power influence of the Black Spheres themselves.

There is a logical connection between Haley and Tyler’s’ affinity to the oceans of the world and their career of choice. As their worlds’ preeminent chemists, they were able to unleash the human potential through their vast knowledge and extensive research. Their love of liquid in its forms, along with these fluids’ connection with loving beings, made them the ultimate scientist superheroes.

The notable discovery for Haley was his anecdote to liquid light, which mutated human organisms into various forms and revered them back to normal. The pinnacle achievement for Tyler was the Miraclo drug and black light which enhanced human physique and stabilized it. On multiple occasions, Haley transformed himself into a physical powerhouse which could easily match Tyler.

While Hourman consistently possesses his powers, he most often worked solo (when not on occasional Justice Society missions). Meanwhile, Prod Haley compensated for lack of powers on most of his adventures by having at least three other teammates on the Challengwrs helping hm. And so, while Hourman with Miraclo possessed lathe strength of ten men, Haley with his Challenger allies possessed the strength of four to ten men (sometimes they had temporary colleagues like millionaire adventurer Gaylord Clayburn, Challenger Red Ryan’s kid brother Tino Mannaray, Alec “Swamp Thing” Holland, and Boston “Deadman” Brand… among others).

Secret Hearts vs Heart Throbs: Romantic Crisis on Two Earths

On Earth-One, the redhead singer Rita Phillips, blonde actress Karen Wilder Summers, and Karen's brunette sister Peggy Wilder were a trio of ladies navigating the turbulent waters of romance. Their tales were quite possibly fictional, as their series “Reaching for Happiness within the publication Secret Hearts was later revealed as a television soap opera*.

Karen and Peggy were similar in personality to their Earth-Two doppelgängers Chris and Mariam. However, Rita was more emotionally erratic while her Earth-Two counterpart Chris was more emotionally secure. Fashion magazine editor Chris Mason was featured with her two roommates in the series entitled "3 Girls—Their Lives— Their Loves".

There, they each took distinct routes toward establishing successful careers for themselves as young women from 1966 until 1970, while simultaneously seeking true love with the various men who crossed paths in their lives. The three gals' tales were told in Heart Throbs which was originally a Quality Comics publication*.

The gals in Secret Hearts lived in the smaller Earth-One burg of Danville Corners, and revolved around former starlet Karen returning to her hometown after the tragic death of her husband of two years. Moving in with her more conservative sister Peggy, Karen reacquainted herself with her former fiancée, Doctor Greg Marsh.. This sets up a conflict between Karen and Rita, the latter of whom grew up in the wrong side of town, as jealousy brews between the ladies over the affections of Greg. As Rita didn't have the childhood connection, nor the affluent background of her cosmic twin Chris, this caused Rita to have a deep insecurity not shared with Chris.

Chris shared a penthouse with her childhood best friends, television model Sandy Simms and advertising executive Mariam Tyler, each of whom moved from the small town of Cedar Grove to the big burg of New York City. Sandy sought to comfort from Phil Preston, a duplicitous young man who secretly schemed for her inheritance. Miriam secretly sought the affection of her assistant Jeb Crosby, while Sandy's father and wealthy financier William Simms had his eye on Miriam though years older than her.

Eventually, Sandy was blackmailed into accepting an engagement offer from Bud Stone when he threatened to accuse her for the death of her ex-boyfriend Bud Troy, who two-time her with another woman. And that other woman, responsible for his death, was the sister of Count Sergio Bellini! Once the true killer was exposed, Mariam was free to pursue her own engagement with the Count, while Sandy found love with Police Detective Ryan.

The true star of this series was Chris Mason. After initially investigating a scandal involving celebrity debutante Miss Devon, Chris was tasked with uncovering details of an elite private girl's school There, she became romantically attached to chemistry teacher Larry Cole, which jeopardized his position at the institution. While providing a mentor to the young ladies she met, she left behind a heartbroken Larry whom she could not see herself staying with in his small college town.

After uncovering a bullying scandal and defending Larry's reputation before an administrative hearing, Chris returned to the penthouse. There, she provided the moral support her friends needed when their romantic lives were in crisis. For Mariam, this meant convincing her to expose a murderer even at the cost of her own true love, and for Sandy, this meant giving her to courage to not succumb to fear at the cost of love.

During Miriam and the Count's wedding, Chris met Alexander Barnett from the Museum of Art, and finally found a man she could see herself settling down with in wedded bliss! And her counterpart Rita found her own rekindled love in former boyfriend Ray Silva, once she left the Doctor to her romantic rival. For Rita, she made the decision with a sense of resignation. For Chris, she made the decision with a sense of optimism.

* Years later, actress Linda "Supergirl" Danvers portrayed Margo Hatton on the Secret Hearts soap opera

** As with other characters from Quality, those individuals portrayed in Heart Throbs originated on Earth-Two.

Greedy Green Geniuses versus Parallel Patrols

Garguax was an aspiring alien invader from planet Mytil-One, sent as a covert agent for his world’s supreme leader. Using superior technology and his malleable Plastic Men, Garguax repeatedly faced the Doom Patrol, who repeatedly thwarted his schemes on Earth-One. This led to his accepting honorary membership into the Brotherhood of Evil, arch-enemies of the Patrol. During one joint mission, Garguax and the Brotherhood ensnared the energy form of Negative Man, although the Flash disguised himself as the captured crimefighter, thus tricking the villains into releasing their captive.

The cosmic twin of Garguax from the planet Mytil-Two had a similar goal in subduing humanity using superior technology.  With his malleable Rubber-Faces, Garuax-Two ensnared the doomed Patrol of Earth-Two inadvertently. Despite superior numbers and adaptable attacks, these aliens were unable to defeat their human foes, who stalled their plans on conquest.

Eventually, the grand leader of Mytil-One known as Zarox-13 led his forces to Earth-Two, prompting the Doom Patrol and Brotherhood of Evil to temporarily join forces to repel their attack. Following this defeat, both Garguax and Zarox-13 as well as their allies flee back to their homeworld, nevermore to return.

Three years after their encounter with Patrollers Fred, Pedro and Slim, Garguax and his ruler King Agon absconded athletes of Earth-Two with the intent of having them provide sport on their world. However, the Flash joined his fellow humans in the journey across space, and successfully subdued the Rubberfaces. Embarrassed at this humiliation, Flash and his fellow humans were returned to their world.

Bot Boys Battle Brain & Brawn Baddies

Robotman was mortal enemies with the Brotherhood of Evil, who were the arch-foes of his team, the Doom Patrol. While the Brotherhood's body-less leader, the Brain, was their leader... his arms and legs were his faithful simian servant Monsieur Mallah, a gorilla whom he imbued with super-intelligence. For years, these rival organizations battled with one another. with the Brain constantly coveting the metallic body of Robotman, who like himself was once human before his natural body perished. To that end, the malevolent mind often pitted Mallah against Robotman, with the two forming an antagonistic relationship with one another as two beings with superstrength.

On a parallel planet in another universe, that world's Robotman very nearly faced a brain-without-a-body and his bestial brother in battle. Originally born Jason Rogers, who became a rich industrialist, a second persona resided in the deep recesses of his mind for decades. This was Jason’s nameless twin brother, a brain preserved alive without a body though mysterious means. This "Brain" exerted his mental might to form a fourth-dimensional body, which manifested when the docile Jason Rogers transformed into the inhuman genius, the Monster*!

And so it was, on December 6th, 1941 in Washington, D.C., the Monster was tasked with eliminating three members of the Justice Society of Earth-Two, those men being the Atom, Doctor Mid-Nite and Hawkman. Off in the distance, ready to assist, was the top hat and trench coat clad Robotman... who saw how his fellow heroes quickly defeated the Monster. The bedeviling Brain transformed back into Jason Rogers. Robotman departed the scene while the twins vanished.

Soon after this, a different doomed Patrol formed when three members of the French Foreign Legion gained shape-shifting bodies, similar to those of the remaining Doom Patrol members. That trio of Earth-One Patrollers consisted of Rita "Elasti-Girl" Farr, Larry "Negative Man"  Trainor and Garfield "Beast Boy" Logan**. Their doppelgängers of the Earth-Two Patrol were Fred, Pedro and Slim, resolving to use their abilities of growth and shrinking (like Rita), energized form (like Larry), and animal metamorphosis (like Garfield) to battle the Nazis during World War II.

By 1947, Jason Rogers was in a comatose state, which prevented his twin the Monster from asserting control over his body. Thus, he melded his mind with John Gresham, a man attempting to claim sole inheritance over his late brother’s fortune. When Fred, Pedro and Slim investigated, the trio were thrust into the fourth dimension by the Monster, who stole their superpowers for himself and his two allies in their synthetic energy bodies. Despite these abilities, the terrible trio were unable to defeat the Patrol, who returned to the third dimension of Earth-Two where they exposed the Monster's new "brother" John Gresham as a crook.

This was to date the last documented appearance of the Monster, although a similar begrudging beast would work with a disembodied brain decades later, in the form of the Ultra-Humanite. Originally a super-intelligent scientist whose brain was artifically augmented, Ultra's frail human body perished when exposed to one of his deadly devices, and had numerous body transfers which each housed his magnificent mind for extended periods of time.

Eventually, Humanite… like his Earth-One counterpart Brainiac… upgraded the housing encasing his cerebral center. Although instead of storing his mind inside a robotic body (which he tried to do when holding Robotman hostage yet failing to complete the procedure), Ultra had his brain implanted in the body of a mutated albino gorilla. Like Gorilla Grodd, this Ultra-Humanite possessed vast telepathic powers, which separated these two super-simians apart from their fellow contemporary beasts, Monsieur Mallah and the Monster of their respective Earths.

Monsieur Mallah himself assumed another identity much as Monster had in his later appearance against the Patrol. Clad in an emerald cape, garish green garb and a bestial full face mask, Mallah fabricated the alias of financier Abu Hassan. Abu acquired another monetary holdings to develop a financial empire with the intent of luring the Doom Patrol’s principal ally, and Elasti-Girl’s husband, Steve “Mento” Dayton. Luring the mental millionaire into a trap to use as bait for the Patrol, Hassan failed to secure Dayton and seemingly folded his riches into the Brain’s Brotherhood and their criminal endeavors.

Unlike the Earth-One Patrol's repeated clashes with the dastardly duo of brain and brawn, the Earth-Two Robotman and his world’s Patrol only faced their version of the brain and brawn once each. Years later, Brain and Monsieur Mallah found new foes in Garfield’s new teammates in the New Teen Titans, together with the Brain founding a revitalized Brotherhood of Evil, with the goal of seeking revenge against their former ally turned adversary in Madame Rouge.

Rogers and his Monster twin brother were recurring thorns in the side of the Justice Society of America as well as the All-Star Squadron and the terrific trio of Pedro, Fred and Slim throughout the 1940s.

* The Brain’s counterpart before his human body perished was Jason Rogers, while Monsieur Mallah’s beastial counterpart was the Monster.

** Rita, Larry and Gar wore similarly clad costumes which matched one another in style, as had those uniforms worn by Fred, Pedro and Slim.

Bulls-Eye: Legacy of the Bad Bullet Boys

Bulls-Eye was a criminal alias used by various crooks throughout the decades, with a speciality as skilled marksmen. Leapo the acrobat was the exception, due to his acceptional agility against Ace Archers!

Leapo was a former circus performer turned professional criminal, incarcerated in prison. After staging a daring excape with fellow prisoners, Leapo was inspired to assume the alias of Bulls-Eye in 1946. This soon led him into direct conflict with the Battling Bowmen of Earth-Two, Green Arrow and Speedy, with Leapo's ability to leap coupled with his agility making him a difficult target to capture.

Four years later, an assassin-for-hire named Kendall also assumed the Bulls-Eye nickname in Earth-Two's Gotham City. He was hired by the crimelord known as Black Diamond, along with three other professional felons, with contracts to kill the Batman. Alongside his sidekick Robin, Batman faced all four men, quickly defeating Nitro Nelson and the Baracuda Brothers. When Bulls-Eye and Black Diamond later cornered the Dynamic Duo, Batman swiftly subdued the sniper and took his place. Disguised as Bull-Eye, Batman outmanuevered and captured Black Diamond, sending him and the real Bulls-Eye* to jail.

In the Gotham City of Earth-One, criminal gadgeteer Phil Cobb had twice attempted to defeat the Batman as the Signalman. After his second loss, Cobb enlisted the aid of his prison cellmate Kendall, also known as the Bulls-Eye. Kendall taught Cobb how to design specialized arrows, like those used by Bulls-Eye's foe Green Arrow, prompting Phil to create a new costumed career as the Blue Bowman. Despite this unique gimmick, Cobb was soon beaten by Batman and Robin.

Unlike the other two more standard suit and tie thugs using the Bulls-Eye name, Leapo was uniquie both in his clown costume as well as his physical agility and various gadgets. His Earth-One equivalent was the acrobatic crimefighter, who portrayed himself as a psychopathic criminal, known as the Creeper. In his secret identity as Jack Ryder, he was a security official for a major news network as well as a reporter, with his costume appearing and disappearing due to a molecular transducer while within his veins flowed a recuperative serum that kept the Creeper healthy and unearthly strong.

* A third Earth-Two Bulls-Eye faced Batman and Robin a year later, as part of another criminal gang, while another Bulls-Eye also faced the Blackhawks of Earth-One on one occasion.

Flying Fox and Googled Good Guys

The name "Flying Fox" was used on three worlds, all tied to living legends. There was the Flying Fox of Earth-One, a young Bruce Wayne who would later become that world's Batman. The Flying Fox of Earth-Two was a frequent foe of sky criminal Air Pirate A-X. The Flying Fox of the Post Crisis Earth seems to have originated on Earth-8.

While training as a detective, a teenage Bruce Wayne of Earth-One assumed the alter ego of Flying Fox. On one occasion in her masked alias, Wayne teamed up with Clark "Superboy" Kent in Smallville, Years later as the Batman, Wayne regularly teamed up with his "World's Finest" partner, fellow Justice League founding member and best friend, a now grown-up Superboy now known as Superman.

Radiologist/pilot Lou Rex Darrell of Earth-Two was a flying detective in the image of his world's Batman, who also was an aviator sleuth. After a few notable tales as a good guy during the early days of World War II, a debilitating head injury during the war left Darrell with a greedy rather than good mental attitude.

Back on Earth-One, gangster "Matches" Malone had built up a reputation with the Riverfront Mob. Like his counterpart Darnell, Malone had a greedy disposition which led to Batman seeking him out to aid him on a dangerous mission. Before the hero could convince the criminal to agree to assist him, a bullet meant for Batman ricocheted towards Malone. After being fatally shot, it seemed this was Matches Malone’s swan song.

However, Batman decided to assume a third alter ego as Matches Malone, disguised as the gangster during various crimefighting missings throughout the years when he needed Malone's underworld credentials to provide Wayne the connections needed to ensnare his prey. This became an effective means of exposing criminals involved in a variety of cases, and even motivated Bruce's young ward and sidekick Dick "Robin" Grayson into assuming the Matches Malone identity one time.

Under the cover of his career as a radiologist, the former Flying Fox attempted to steal valuable radium, which led Darnell into a confrontation with Batman and Robin (Batman #37). Of note is his preference for green and brown clothes from his Flying Fox days  Following his failed scheme, exposed by x-ray which revealed his identity, Darrell’s criminal career was finished before it even began.

Whether Lou Rex Darrell reformed and once more sided with the cause of justice, as he had years before, is unknown. What is known is that he, like the man who continued the "life" of his doppelgänger Matches Malone, carved out a brief yet notable career as the Flying Fox... scourge to criminals everywhere!

Twice-Told-Tales: Wonder Woman vs Flying Fighters

Princess Diana of Paradise Island, also known to the world at large as Wonder Woman, faced several foes throughout the years. Both women with that name, the Wonder Women of Earths One and Two, at times fought side-by-side together, either with team ups just between the two of them or larger Crisis-level events alongside their teammates of the Justice League and Justice Society.

On one occasion, the legendary ladies were confronted with five “Heroes of History” of Earth-One, empowered by the temporal megalomaniac known as the Lord of Time who sent them against the League and Society to render the majority of those teams comatose. These five champions of the past consisted of three individuals with identical doppelgänger’s of Earth-Two, those being Viking Prince, Black Pirate and Miss Liberty. A fourth member of this informal group, cowboy bounty hunter Jonah Hex, had a counterpart known as Jeff Graham aka the Roving Ranger of Earth-Two. The final person in their midst was known as an Enemy Ace to the American’s flying over Europe during the mid to late 1910’s.

Enemy Ace was Rittsmeister (Captain) Hans Von Hammer of the German Air Force during World War I, a reluctant warrior and expert fighter pilot also known as the Hammer of Hell. His doppelgänger of Earth-Two was the American World War I fighter pilot Captain Thomas Cole aka Captain Desmo, later known as the Bombardier during the early days of World War II. Just as Von Hammer was employed as a pawn by the Lord of Time, Cole was likewise manipulated into service by the Lord of Mars.

While the Hammer of Hell was empowered by his benefactor granting him superhuman abilities, Bombardier was likewise empowered with identical abilities. Both men could fly while projecting devastation energy bolts, which disabled the Wonder Woman of their respective Earths. Von Hammer’s four allies were also similarly empowered, while their counterparts experiencing something similar when they were drawn to 1985 of Earth-Two by Harbinger to battle Ultra-Humanite.

Interestingly, it was the Wonder Woman of Earth-Two who shortly thereafter stuck back at both men, first Captain Cole in 1942 on Earth-Two, then decades later against Captain Von Hammer in 1978. Despite this initial animosity, the pilots worked with the Wonder Women to defeat Lords of Time and Mars, along with their reality shattering schemes unleashed upon both Earths known as the Eternity Brain and the Disc of Mars. Following this, Von Hammer* as the Enemy Ace resumed his duties in Germany, while Cole officially retired following this and his lengthy career as Captain Desmo.

* Along with the Earth-One Viking Prince, Black Pirate, Miss Liberty and Jonah Hex each of whom returned to their native time periods, just as had the Earth-Two Viking Prince, Black Pirate, MissAmerica and Roving Ranger following the Crisis event.

Untold Teamup Tales of the Justice League & Justice Society

As evidenced by the existence of an unaffected future for the Legion of Super-Heroes, Brane "Batman" Taylor, Bilbat"Captain Marv", and a Kamandi... there were multiple 30th century timelines set apart from one another. These heroes' realities remained separate and distinct from one another. Their realities... Earth-One, Earth-Two, Earth-S and Earth-A.D... where each their own unique location within the Mulitverse. As previously ascerted, this proves that a future timeline existed and was thus spared from the cross-contamination of a merged post Crisis on Infinite Earths singular universe, which itself would repeatedly reboot and readjust itself.

With this in mind, we can hypothesize additional untold tales of those 20th century heroes, including several annual teamups between the Justice League of America and the Justice Society of America. These involved additional teams, on both their own worlds and alternate Earths. This harmonizes with the pattern they set for decades, when the JLA and JSA encountered the Crime Syndicate of Earth-Three, the Lawless League of Earth-A, the Seven Soldiers of Victory of Earth-Two, the Freedom Fighters of Earth-X (and formerly of Earth-Two), the Squadron of Justice of Earth-S, the Legion of Super-Heroes of Earth-One, the New Gods of an adjacent Earth-One reality, and the All-Star Squadron of Earth-Two.

What were some of these teamups? Thanks to the inventive mind of Multiverse historian David Stepp, we get a glimpse into some of these amazing adventures:

  • The League and Society teamup with Sentinels of Justice of Earth-Four to defend that world against an incursion by the Crime Champions, a gang of villains originally consisting of Earth-One's Chronos, Felix Faust and Doctor Alchemy and Earth-Two's Icicle, Wizard and Gambler. Evidentally, this sinister six expanded their roster to include Sentinal adversaries the Ghost, Doctor Spectro, Punch and Jewelee. To combat this, JLAers Batman, Green Arrow, and Red Tornado as well as JSAers Atom, Hourman and Starman are joined in the fight by Sentinal members Captain Atom, Nightshade and Blue Beetle as well as their ally the Son of Vulcan. The result of this confrontation undoubtedly proved better for Earth-Four than had the Crisis' "Villain War", which left portions of that world in environmental chaos unleashed by the costumed criminals and their mammoth sentient toxic weapon of war, Chemo.
  • The Justice Society journeyed to Earth-One to assist the Justice League and the League's next generation protégées, the New Teen Titans, versus the malevolent Brother Blood and his Church of Blood from the nation of Zandia. Sebastian Blood possibly snatched the Powerstone, prompting the intervention of the JSA. Thanks to the intervention of these three titanic teams, led by New Teen Titans' leader Dick "Robin" Grayson and Justice Society member Dick "Nightwing" Grayson (although why the younger Dick reverted to his Robin alias rather than remain as Nightwing is unknown).
  • Sinestro uses his ability to mentally manipulate others (which he has formerly used in a Brave and Bold tale when he controlled the Oan Guardians of Earth-One’s Universe while disguised as one of their own... and later when he exerted mind-control over his fellow Korugarians) to coerce select members of the Green Lantern Corps into becoming his second Sinestro Corps. Apparently, he sought to succeed where he had years earlier failed, when cloning himself a dozen time into the first incarnation of the Sinestro Corp when he and his minions invaded Earth-Two. The Justice Society's involvment in this tale indicates that Sinestro brought over these Corps men and women to Earth-Two for a repeat incursion into that world, one thwarted by the JLA and JSA led by Green Lanterns Hal Jordan and Alan Scott of those respective teams.
  • In a two-part crossover, the Time Trapper recruits fellow temporal thieves the Lord of Time of Earth-One and Per Degaton of Earth-Two to ensnare the majority of the Justice League and Justice Society in a time trap in the 30th century of Earth-Two. In part two, the remaining Leaguers and Socialites journey to the 30th century of Earth-One to recruit the aid of the Legion of Super-Heroes from that era in helping them battle their old foe Trapper and his cronies, but end up settling for the Legion of Substitute Heroes who help them after defeating the Legion of Super-Villains sent by the Time Trio to thwart them.
  • Finally, the Justice Society individually face off against the Crime Society, a version of the Crime Syndicate but from a different world than that of Earth-Three. This Crime Society is modeled off the Justice Lords, a team of renegade superheroes who took the law into their own hand, administering their perverted form of authoritarian justice upon President Lex Luthor and his criminal minions on their world. This Crime Society would undoubtedly have invaded Earth-Two, just as the Crime Syndicate had invaded that world and Earth-One several years earlier. Perhaps the Justice League later became involved, aiding the Society as they had versus the Syndicate.
  • These are just a few examples of potential probable plotlines involving the Greatest Heroes of Earths One and Two in a future unobstructed by the calamity that fell upon the Multiverse during the Crisis on Infinite Earths!
